to be honest, I've been measuring between centers, not using hexes.

OOC Assuming a 1 hex range with this post.  If necessary to get into range, he wll step and attack 1 hex to his right/front.

As Demchug advances across the ring to attack, Whisper falls into his defensive stance.  His head bows down noticeably as a gesture of respect, but he does not drop his guard.  Demchug was all business, which Whisper respected, even if he would do things differently.

Whisper steps to his right as Demchug moves into melee range, and then launches a kick at his opponent.

OOC Step and Attack maneuver using Kicking-15, random hit location.  He'll slide a hex to his right so he has room for a retreat if needed.  Whisper hits with the attack:
10:22, Today: Secret Roll: Whisper rolled 11 using 3d6.  Attack Demchug, Kicking-15.

Striking ST 1 moves Whisper's base damage up to 2d-1.  As usual he uses his shin as a Striker for +1 damage per die.  Karate adds +2 damage per die due to skill.  Total damage roll should be 2d6+5.  He rolled well and gets 15, if the attack goes through.
10:24, Today: Secret Roll: Whisper rolled 15 using 2d6+5.  Demchug damage, 2d6+5.

Retreating dodge declared for any incoming attack(s) or grapples.
