Monster Hunter Showdown OOC

Do the vamps know they are being hunted?  Would they have made this place a better nest; moved shelves together to make darker areas, blocked off windows, sunlights, and roof vents, etc?

This warehouse looks surprisingly in use, is this the case?  Are the vamps sleeping safe amongst the dead corpses of the workers?  Or are there far less forklifts and more fallen industrial shelving?

Monster Hunter Showdown OOC

I was mostly trying to make a simple scenario. Lets see what I can say:

The vampires know they are attracting trouble, but not that they are being hunted for sure. The master vampire (off elsewhere on a scheme) is far from his base of operations on a  complex but time-sensitive scheme, and is taking some risks because this isn't his home stomping grounds.

The warehouse was operational last night: the vampires are planning to move to a new location in the evening. They've trashed the electrical and lighting system, and they picked one without windows, though one side has large sliding doors. Several of the vampires are only hours old, having been created as muscle for their master's upcoming plot. The other workers at the warehouse are dead.

Any other questions?

Let me download Characters and take a look at the map. I will be gone all evening, but should be ready to start tomorrow.

Hmmmm.

Not finding equipment on these char sheets. Do I need to provide that?

Yes. Though don't feel obliged to overdo it. A simple combat loadout will suffice for warrior and the commando, and the techie has an absurd budget and two copies of the gizmo advantage.

Note that Mark (the commando) has a poor budget patron, Ron (the Warrior) has a good budget patron, and Charles (the techie) has a loaded budget patron plus signature gear for the BYRD GUN.

I should probably help out with giving our crew gear. I'll post thoughts as they come to me. I suspect that most of the hunters will have a collection of weapons rather than on or two good ones (with the notable exception of Charles Byrd)

THOUGHTS:

The commando should have at least one long arm and one pistol, and load up with wooden, Holy- water bullets, perhaps splashing for Thermate. Ordinary bullets are moderately effective as well. No one bullet will put down a vampire. You'll want to try and do lots of damage.

The gear should include a lighting plan.

The warrior should probably be using swords as his main weapon, with a knife and perhaps a weighted axe as backup options. Virtually everything should be very fine and balanced, and a lot of it should be disguised. He'll want access to a holy sword, as well as a silver sword.

Protection won't include vests, though if you want to bring motorcycle helmets those may be useful.

Hey, I said I had pregen characters and it turns out they didn't have equipment. This is as much on me as it is on you.

I stuck some gear on the back pages of the excel sheet. The warrior now has a collection of weapons. Feel free to tweak: right now the foremost weapon is a cavalry saber with a lot of upgrades that costs $9,000. He's got an axe for when those few extra points of damage matter, and a naginata with a pure silver head for silver-phobic foes. Most of it is disguised (which usually means the handle or case is disguised).  Then he has assorted knives, copies of his weapons that don't cost thousands of dollars, and a pair of enormous compound cross bows.

Also, I put together some common packages.

Basic Armor ($545), 19 lbs:
Reinforced Boots 3 $75
Long Leather Coat 10 $250
Athletic Cup 0 $20
Sharp-proof sleeves 2 $100
Sharp proof leggings 4 $100

Basic Gear ($68) 4.8 lbs

5 Bandages 1 $10
Lighter 0 $10
Duct Tape .5 $1
Small Flashlight .2 $10
Mirror 0 $5
Notebook, pencil, chalk .1 $2
First Aid Kit 1 $10
Load bearing Vest 2 $30

Rugged Smart phone $520 1 lb
(The techie provides the team with bluetooth headsets)

Charles Byrd has a huge budget: $50,000 to start with an $5,000 a mission. His Patron will happily provide fancy ammunition for the whole group, but will balk at personal gear, like the guns to shoot it with.
