Re: A Flying Cargo Container

The Model stops squirming, and looks around as if she's just realizing where she is.
"Hatter's in trouble? We have to help him!"
"Who's holding me?"
"Shade? Free Bird? WHERE'S BILLY KLANG?"

After another moment, her facial expression shift from anger to wide-eyed wonder. She turns her face towards Enforcer and says, "Eric... Enforcer. This... isn't me. My mother did this. She calls herself Stargazer, now."
"Listen, honey, Will didn't die in the accident. Mom grabbed him to hide him from you, and this life you're living. She didn't know."

Re: A Flying Cargo Container

As The Model speaks about about an accident and someone named Will, Enforcer's mouth drops open. But it doesn't take long for the expression on his face to move from shock to fury. As the Crusader points his Walthar at The Model's model nose, barely inches away, he growls at her. "You're just a machine parroting some deranged psychopath's version of weaponized emotion. So there's no reason I can't shoot you in the face to blow off some steam."

Re: A Flying Cargo Container

Her chin drops to her breastbone, for just a moment. A single tear drops from the bridge of her nose; it sparkles as it descends to the ground. But when she raises her head, again, her eyes are clear as she looks directly into Enforcer's eyes.
"I'm sorry. You've been used, terribly, by the path you chose. I've looked up to you for a while, and I won't let you down."
"I'm not an android, that's the other one. If you would shoot me somewhere other than my head, it will prove what I say is the truth."

Is there any metal around that can be bent as a confinement? Gauntlet does have 60 STR he can utilize.

In reply to Wraith (msg # 72):

With that said, Gauntlet will increase his STR to 60 and will tear off metal strips from the cargo container in preparation to tie and secure The Model.

Re: A Flying Cargo Container

As the metal is being wrapped around The Model, Knockout bursts through the tree line and approaches. She nods to The Model, and says, "hey, you" before she addresses anyone else. When she explains herself, it goes much like this, "Hatter and some of the others are pinned down in the fake house in the clearing. If you go there, now, you can force the assailants to face two fronts. That would make them easier to defeat."
"Just leave her to me, we have things to discuss."

What they have to discuss isn't mentioned, but even through the masks their marked similarities would suggest something.

"I can know what's alive around me in the dark if I concentrate on it, but I cannot do it forever," Gauntlet will state.

How is the darkness? Is it dark like night time or literally no light at all?

Re: A Flying Cargo Container

No one remaining can see, and the rustle of fabric can't be deciphered to know WHO moved, much less where and how. The silence is broken, oddly enough, by Knockout. "So, who's still here? If my ears can be believed it's just me, me, and my favorite cocoo... wait... that's wrong."
"I'm sorry, Eric, uh... Mr. Forrest. Well, this is so hard. How you humans manage these things is completely beyond me. Listen, I'm not Knockout. I'm not even, a person. Which is really not fair!"

There was some more rustling. "That witch made me care. I'm going to get you free and we're going to switch outfits in the dark."
Giggle. "Like a superhero sleepover game."
Further rustling, zippers zipping, buttons buttoning, snaps snapping.
"Besides, if the lights do come on I won't mind if Eric sees me, because he's Eric. What do you think?"

Re: A Flying Cargo Container

Although nothing more than a sound akin to a stifled sob comes from the man, the way the sound carries makes it obvious Enforcer has turned his back on the pair. "Look, android, or whatever you... wait. You need a name, and it won't be Laura. I get it, it's not your fault. But you have to try not to... sound... like her. I've spent too long trying to forget to deal with that."
"Now what the hell did Stargazer do to Knockout?"

Re: A Flying Cargo Container

Finding herself close, she hugged the android back, and gave her comfort.
Once redressed, she'd sigh and looked down at herself, like discovering a stranger body. "I.. guess we all need time. She did something to my mind. Made me become Laura. With all her memories, and feelings, and personality pieces. It is still very much here like a layer on my thoughts."

Re: A Flying Cargo Container

"You can call me The Model, that's as good a name as any. FORCE called me his 'model double x'. He's been collecting people and replacing them with his, uh, things like me. Most of them don't even know it. That reporter, the one that died, he was supposed to be replaced but he got out."
"Somehow, there's a connection forged between the positronic pathways in the android brain and the human's medulla oblongata. It allows the android to have, eventually, all the human's memories and personality. Stargazer was using the conduit between Knockout and her android replacement to rebuild her late daughter's mind by channeling the psychometric impulses from Laura's possessions through Knockout. It went a long way towards working perfectly."
"That's why I had to come here. Being able to leave behind Knockout's life was a bonus, mostly, I just wanted to see you. In all the ways that count, I am Laura."
"I give up, Eric. I won't fight you, and I won't be a part of anything that wants to do you harm. I'm just a machine, so I'll obey your commands, whatever they are."

Re: A Flying Cargo Container

He sighs, wearily. A sigh with enough weight to hold down straw in a tornado. There's a rustle, as if some small piece of cloth was removed, before he speaks. "I think both of you mean well, but you should know that neither of you are like Laura, at least, not like MY Laura."
"You have the memories, think it through. Before I met her, I had been through college, a few years of specialized training, and several missions. It was several years after that before my son was born."
"My son, Billy Klang. You know, LaserFire has everything my boy ever recorded on his Crusader comm. My son, who's probably your age, Knockout. So, what do you think Laura would be like, now?"
"You want to be Laura, who's world was wrapped around her children and the man she knew during the Summer of Love? I'm sorry, that ship has sailed."
