Anderial arrived at the library and asked the Liberian for the maps again.
"Can I borrow those maps for a minute. I want to copy them."

(since there isn't a skill associated with this, roll a d20 + dex for map quality)

(oof)
you produce a crude sketch. The general features are represented, but the distances are out of proportion. You have plenty of ink to try again, but would need to acquire more paper. (you can kind've fast-purchase here if you want to)

Conner steps into the room and begins to look over the books in the room. He's not searching for anything in particular, mainly looking for potential locations where items of power may have been stored, or if he could find any errata on magic he hadn't already memorized

14:22, Today: Conner Cream rolled 19 using 1d20+5.  Investigation.

Connor finds a hidden, or overlooked map in an old book. The map details the location of one of the Lich King's treasure hoards. The treasure lies in the hills to the west, about 7 days travel.

Conner sticks the map into his pocket, and tries to read more on whats defending this stash, and if it would be practical to travel there alone.

Conner sighs, and leaves the library. He probably wasn't ready to enter a vault by himself, but he was ready to see what these wizards had to offer.

-----> From Group J

Nyxi waited in hiding for Conner to leave.  She needed to make sure there were absolutely no witnesses to what she was about to do.  It's a practice that the Thieves' Guild taught her for preparing for a heist.  Not that she was planning on stealing anything from the Lich King's Library.  That, as it turns out she is not aware of, would be a very detrimental thing.

Quietly she approaches the door, wary of the possibility that there may be other people inside studying maps or whatnot.  The last thing she wants to do is disturb anyone's studies.  She knows first hand how that feels.  She puts her ear to the door, arrests her breathing, and just listens.  Once the sound of her own heartbeat fades into the background, she listens for the sound of pages turning and papers shuffling.  It would be the very faintest sound like the sound of the air buzzing in your ears.  When she is certain she hears nothing, she tests the latch on the door.  Conner would have left it unlocked.  And why shouldn't he?  The library is open for everyone to use.  What with the spells on it, it might not even need to be locked at night.  Never the less, a lock is there and Nyxi forces down her obsession to pick it.

Quietly she opens the door.  She peeks inside just to make sure there isn't anyone in there looking up from their book at her.  Then she looks back over her shoulder to make sure she hasn't been followed.  She doesn't trust that Geis'ka at all.  Nothing against her race, it's just that her race are the absolute worst kind of people to know what she has been carrying.  Such a thing in their hands would unleash all kinds of madness upon the world.  Nyxi had to safeguard the world.

The Lich King's Library was only a temporary solution.  With people coming and going so often, it would only be a matter of time before someone noticed something is amiss.  What, if anything, they could do with it is unlikely.  As far as Nyxi knew, Geis'ka was the only person in this town who could.  That's why she spoke Infernal.  She needed to see if anyone else in the tavern was following the conversation.  You never know with wizards; they study all sorts of odd languages.

Stealthfully Nyxi slips inside the library, and not like a small person who's beneath everyone's notice like it has been all day.  But she really makes an effort at it.  No one must know she is entering the library.  Unfortunately, she announced her intentions.  She was trying to make it sound innocent.

She takes off her backpack as she approaches the bookshelves.  Her intentions don't look innocent.  Her eyes search the bottom shelves, the ones where she can reach without having to climb.  With her free hand she reaches down inside her backpack, feeling around for something in particular.  What she pulls out isn't a candle, or a quill, or anything else she might need to study.  That is unless what she wanted to study was a book from her own backpack.

The book looked dark, not entirely black, but a dark enough shade of brown that one might call it black when the lighting is poor.  It was bound in leather, but only an expert's eye could tell you what kind of leather.  It had no other discernibly visible features to tell you what kind of book it was.  But it had a feel about it, the sort of thing that whispers into the back of your mind that this is not the sort of book you want to open.  But open it Nyxi did.  Her curiosity outweighed the book's sinister nature.  And she regretted it.  She had read too much.  To go on further would have risked madness, or at least what she regarded as madness.  To a more evil mind it would have made perfect sense.

She approached the very bottom shelf, the one that contained books that the fewest people would be interested in reading.  The one where one would have to bend over to get a book from it.  The last place you would grab from if you're just randomly grabbing books to do research on local history.  There she finds plenty of room on the shelves; the Lich King didn't seem much on keeping trivial works of literature.  Instead of taking a book though, she leaves one.  She then stepped back to see how the book looked on the shelf.  Did it stand out?  No more so than any of the Lich King's personal notebooks, and less so than the Lich King's most valued writings.  And then she leaves the library.  She makes no note in the logs that she has made a donation.  She touches not another thing.  She leaves no sign that she was ever there.
