A Bit of Back Story
Lucien grew up in a poorer town, his father was a craftsman but not a particularly good one.
From early in his life, he always struggled with the boredom on education and training in his father's trade. He was a day dreamer, loved in the evenings around the fire hearing the stories of heroes of old. In particular, that of Sigurd a warrior and dragonslayer, who he always secretly wished he could run away and live a similar heroic life to.

His wandering mind and lifestyle as a youth got him into trouble finally, when he grew too much of a liking for a young elven woman in the forests near to his town where he would go to collect timber for crafting with his older brother. He would always find a way to be lost as his older brother was more preoccupied with work and with managing the other servants.

His relationship ended up causing quite a scandal, for which he finally decided to take off in the night (always carrying a lock of his lover's hair with him). He was still quite young, and really didn't know what he was doing. He was always a little naïve about life in the world. Ended up mixing with the wrong kind of company, became a partner to their crimes, ended up being caught, and sold first into slavery, though when his fighting spirit caught the attention of his master, it was realised that Lucien may have had potential for the gladiatorial life.

So for several years, he worked as a gladiator and performer. Although it was a hard life, on a certain level psychologically he kind of convinced himself that he was pretty heroic, and he definitely loved the attention that it brought to him.

As he grew older, his father's desire for perfection which had earlier led to him having a sour relationship with his father reared its ugly head, and caused Lucien to always strive hard to either be the best or to throw the towel in. Second was never good enough for him. Fortunately, he was a pretty good performer, learning how to wield two longswords from an elven warrior, and he was dexterous enough to perform. Also, although he wasn't the brightest cookie, somehow the elven tongue did come naturally to him.

Anyway, he's managed to gather enough money on the arena to buy himself out of slavery, and now he's finally found himself with freedom, and once again the heroic dreams of his youth are calling. Being a famous gladiator isn't enough for Lucien; nothing short of one day killing a dragon for himself like Sigurd of old will satisfy him.

Special Abilities:

City Secrets
You are familiar with how cities are laid out and the secret ways to navigate
them, back alleys, shortcuts, etc., that others find difficult. When not in
combat and if you are leading, you can easily navigate the city and travel
between two locations twice as fast as your normal speed would allow.

Sneak Attack +1d6
Beginning at 1st level, you know how to strike subtly and exploit a foe's
distraction. Once per turn, you can deal an extra 1d6 damage to one creature
you hit with an attack if you have advantage on the attack roll. The attack
must use a finesse or a ranged weapon.
You don't need advantage on the attack roll if another enemy of the target is
within 5 feet of it, that enemy isn't incapacitated, and you don't have
disadvantage on the attack roll.
The amount of the extra damage increases as you gain levels in this class, as
shown in the Sneak Attack column of the Rogue table.

Thieves' Cant
During your rogue training you learned thieves' cant, a secret mix of dialect,
jargon, and code that allows you to hide messages in seemingly normal
conversation. Only another creature that knows thieves' cant understands such
messages. It takes four times longer to convey such a message than it does to
speak the same idea plainly.
In addition, you understand a set of secret signs and symbols used to convey
short, simple messages, such as whether an area is dangerous or the territory
of a thieves' guild, whether loot is nearby, or whether the people in an area
are easy marks or will provide a safe house for thieves on the run.
