  happily enough, the players Fiancée , has  joined the game, and  is keeping the charcter  alive... Yhe Admiral here, talked with  the Late  Player  , a few times, with her on going treatment.

So the coffee trick I've adopted lately is that I do 40% caf/60% decaf. Still gives some pep but I never feel like it's too much.

yeah? late   wife used  decafe for Tea  and   Coffee.. I have to have  the real stuff!

This is the best of both worlds. I can have, say, three or four cups and not get jittery. But the caffeine still packs a punch.

when i was a letter carrier, I would  drink a coke , while i cased, and  get another Coke  for Launch.. i would need a couple  cups of real coffee  to be able to stay up  and   post!

But seriously, try the half-caf method for a bit. It's a winner.

I've been holding off on re-watching BSG until it was the right time. I think that might be now :)

What are we Marines up too? Just wanting to make sure what are sit-rep is before I do any posting anywhere.

I know i'm in Medbay keeping my gun on the entrance, Khloe's still there from when we boarded that (i think) cruise liner to save her from her kidnappers, and the prisoner we took in that same outing that ripped through metal manacles is lying on the floor and she's assuming he's playing possum and that the boarding party nearing Medbay is there to extract him. There's two NPC Marines there too, they're focusing on the prisoner (and hopefully as per Nerada's orders treating him as an active hostile and don't start poking him).

Some are with the Barber fighting Cylon boarders and others are in Medbay. Still others are on their way to fight Cylons and some are all over the ship. The walls, ceilings, bulkheads...

It is certainly a bad day to be a human!

As a reminder, Angus was recently promoted to acting XO by Selene. The rest of the crew is not currently aware that MacReady is dead, so Angus is there supposedly operating in his capacity as CAG. Selene has been subtly treating him as the XO during this attack so the bridge crew can get used to him being in that position.

Hey, we shot down a missile with our Vipers before!  But if there's a ton of 'em, that might not matter much.

You can shoot down the missiles or you can shoot down the things shooting the missiles.

Both are valid forms of defense ;)

Full load is great...but are they still operational according to Selene's readouts? I'm hoping the board is green, because I'd like to chip the paint on that shiny basestar if our guns and thrusters are all fully operational. Given incursion by boarders, I'm not 100% certain right now.

As far as you can tell all systems are green.

No.  The first episode of the series, not the prequel mini series.  Day after day the new president was receiving a fleet head count that was declining.  More so after they had to blow up the transport that was setting off the nuclear warnings.  At the very end of the episode She was told of another adjustment to the head count.  While resigned to another loss in the already dwindled population she learned that a baby Have been porn on the one of those chips, for the first time increasing the account.

I don't remember if I had told you but my wife had surgery for Colon Cancer and Kidney Cancer in June. She started Chemo in August and will finish up with that at the beginning of November. So, I hope to begin posting shortly after that.

Please feel free to do NPC posts for me to keep the game going if you want. I do check in and read game posts.

:;chuckles:: that 4k, in my games  we get bonuses when the game reaches   'the next K"..players make the changes on thier sheets, PM me and  and i have them  put  4K  ect  at the bottom of the sheet, to  see if they claimed the bonus. ( you have a week to claim it)

Its funny to see my Vets  sheets that have this  LOONNNGGG  list one of them , from the very beginning

the space  game has  133K posts  at this writing.  with players  contributing  as they are able. Its satisfing  to see them take pride in  'getting that  K post", because its a team thing!

Closest i got was being in a game where we got a little extra whenever we'd hit a milestone, like a couple extra skill points and such, but getting the actual post is more of a bragging rights thing.

It's a nice thing to do, honestly.

100 years ago when i was in college. I had  an arguement ( a few really)  with my science   prof.

 he said the Universe was  finite, i said  it  couldn't be, because of the expanding thing, he just talked abou a few days before.

 I drew  a tiny dot on my desk, and said  " this is the  Milky way...i walked over to a hot chicks   desk... and said..'what's over  here?' then i went to the   window .and pointed to the next Buiding,"what's over there?'... and then asked,' what is  in  Utah' then the Moon, the  Jupiter,  ect ect...

he said... 'I don't   know"...and i said..'Correct!"

we had a burnout there  who just held his head and said, " Whoaaaa...that's frying  my brain , man" ( of course it was fried a while ago!)

  The prof  was embarrassed,  I loved it. Students loved it , because the prof's ego was pretty big.

now, as  i read and watched  more Movies,  and though about things, we have to understand  how far out from where the  big bang  was( or whatever started this whole thing) so..we are, where we are at..right now. Any aliens  our there, who could come here  would have to be , with in the  first Billion of so Lightyears from the center.... they would be well in advance of us... 2023 here  for us as  thinking people... would be  5203 to  them( or more)

so..yeah evolution  would  kick in, different paths taken.. i have in my game, people of different  levels   that we  find, some  we 'raise up'

Yup. There's also a HUGE amount of the galaxy we would never get to perceive on Earth, since solar systems actually travel at fairly respectable speeds (our own solar system travels at 200 km/s). So there are situations where two systems are moving away from each other at a relative speed exceeding the speed of light, meaning the light from its star will never reach Earth.

Then there are also a bunch of systems whose light have yet to reach Earth given the sheer distance involved (the light from their initial 'birth' has yet to reach us), stars that have already died and we don't see it yet, systems we can't see because there's a black hole between us and it etc. etc. This is also what would make it incredibly hard to find a stable method to travel to an unknown solar system, even the next one over can have pretty severe differences in the stars one could perceive from its vantage point.

It's fairly interesting stuff, i agree.

I remember sending a congrats PM when you hit 100,000 posts, but it's been so long ago that i forgot that was your game XD

::chuckles::  Yeah.  There is another site , aim on, for only one game, and that's because  i was a player  there long ago..so my characters  are part of canon there.. I have  people there  who gave me Congrates  for the 100,000K thing.

 But?  that 100,000K didn't happen without  good players.  we lost a few to RL death..one, was from england, the guy's sister sent me an emaul because i was on his cotacts, he used to  Skype  with me to talk about the  space game. he was really into it.

 There a woman who player a Pilot  and had some  2nd  characters..she had a  heart attack ( effect from Covid)..she told her   partner  ...in  detail..how she wanted all of her  characters  to go out... we were lucky enough that she accepted  my invite to take all thecharcters over.. she did, in all my games, and  no one  can tell the  difference  between her  and the orignal.. had some folks leave, and come back...but? also had some folks who last about a week.

 There is alot of RP   during 'downtime'..its not all battles  and Level up stuff. its  about RP, adventure  and Character growth.

Bottom line, you can have a Great Game, if you don't have great players.... The Admiral ( in my game(  runs the fleet his way...Military Sims  folks   find it  awkward, but that's the way  it is...its  not a Military sim. but here is a strong framework
