"I can call him." Janessa says as she pulls out her phone. "Mom's filled him in on things. He might bring some of his ranch hands to assist with trainin', but they're all good too. Oh! I'll ask him to bring Cody. He's ex-military, Marine Corp sniper. Best shooter on the ranch."

Michelle grabs the cordless phone, checking the caller ID before answering. "Weird." She says as she pushes the button. "Hey, sweetie. What's goin' on?" She asks as she steps into the family room, handing Mike a glass of sweet tea.

"Hi, Mom. I actually need to talk to Mike, if he's available. Gotta question to put to him." Janessa says as she steps towards her front porch and the chairs. She sits down, watching her cousin and the big group from her seat.

(OOC: Going to have this in the ranch thread too. That way Jack can interact with people if he wants.)

Michelle harrumphs softly. "Oh. Okay then. He's sitting right here. Hold on a second." She holds the phone out to her husband. "Nessa wants to ask you something."

Mike takes the phone. "Hey there cowgirl. What can I do you for?"

"Hey, Mike. Look I know this is going to sound nuts, but I've got a small army of people out here. We, my cousin Jack and me, wanna get them trained with guns. They're used to melee weapons, swords and such. Various kinds of crossbows. Also, they think we're Gods." Janessa says.

"You're right. It does sound nuts." Mike says, pinching the bridge of his nose and sighing. "How many are we talkin'?"

There's a pause before Janessa responds. "40. Well, maybe 42. I don't know if two of them, from a different trip, know how to use guns already." There's a rustling and then a muffled shouting. "Jack, do Petey and Whitey know how to use guns?" While she waits, Janessa continues. "You might want to bring Cody with ya. Just based on the sheer number."

Mike nods. "40 or 42, not much difference there kiddo. But I'll call Cody. We've filled in the seasoned hands here, so he knows." He looks towards the kitchen, where William is pouring himself a glass of sweet tea. "I'm going to bring William with me. He can help, and he's almost as good of a shot as you. Plus Rob should be home this weekend. He's not taking summer classes, so he'll be here."

William steps into the room when he hears his name. He looks questioningly at his parents. "Where am I goin' and what am I helpin' with?" He asks quietly.

"You're going to help your dad and Cody teach the people over there at Nessa's to shoot." Michelle says.

William blinks. "I thought we're supposed to not go over?" He shakes his head and sighs. "Alright then. I swear, sometimes she's a flip-floppy as a fish outa water." William says before taking a drink.

"Really? I thought Rob had decided to go ahead. You wanna bring him too?" There's a momentary pause before Janessa continues. "The other two can use bows."

Mike nods. "I am. Good to know. Well, I'll let you go and get Cody on the horn so he can get here. Bye kiddo."

"Thanks, Mike. Bye." Janessa says before hanging up.

Mike hangs up and looks at his wife and youngest. "Most can use bows. Not compound, but we can teach them that when Rob gets here." He picks the phone back up and dials Cody's number.

William nods. "Yes sir. Good idea about having Rob teach the bows, he's better at it than me. Well, I'm gonna head back out to the barn and finish getting the horses settled." He turns only to stop and turn back around. "She want us to bring those horses back over there?"

Michelle shrugs. "I don't know honey. You can ask her when you see her, ok?"

William nods and heads out, pulling his cellphone out of his pocket once he's out of view of his parents. Things keep gettin weirder and weirder. Drive safe. He texts to Robert.

After the fourth ring, the answering machine picks up. "You've reached Cody. Sorry, I'm either at work or off doing something outside. Leave a name and number and I'll call ya back."

"Cody, it's Mike. Call when ya can. Got a unique situation here and need your help." Mike says before hanging up with a sigh. "I suppose I should go help William." He gives Michelle's cheek a kiss before standing up. "Thanks for the drink hon. Should be done in an hour or so. You hear back from Cody, bring the phone on out to me." Mike stretches before heading after William.

Michelle nods. "No problem. I'll have dinner on the table when yall get back inside." She stands and heads to the kitchen to start cooking.

"Wanna tell me or continue to be cryptic?" Robert replies.

William spots his dad coming and fires off a quick text and then turns the volume off on his cell. Tell you later. Gotta finish with the horses and then dinner.
