Jon:
*smiles* "I'll give it a try, but please both of you stand clear."
Jon picks up an axe and attempts to through it.
OOC: 18:09, Today: Jon rolled 4 using 2d6+1 ((1,2)).
Just shy of the worse roll I could get. So I know it doesn't come close to the mark, but oh benevolent GM what disaster has Jon caused?
(Jon gets 1 xp, takes -1 forward, and the plot will throw a metaphorical rock at him.)
Some people come around the corner just as the axe leaves Jon's hand.
Then the axe misses the tree trunk by an inch, and keeps going across the street.
Fortunately, no one is hurt-- the axe thuds hard into the side of a wall across the street.
It did, however, miss an old woman by just a couple of feet.
It went behind where she was walking, so she didn't notice (just looked around to see what that THUD noise was), but the group of people who'd just come around the corner did. From the corner of the block, they break into horrified chatter amongst themselves.
"Did that man throw that axe at that old woman?"
"I think he was aiming for the tree?"
"Still, so reckless! He could have hit that old granddam!"
"That's no man-- I think that's one of the new princelings!"
"It's not just any princeling-- rumor has it it's the usurper's son!"
"The son of Eric?! Just tossing axes at citizens?"
"He's looking this way! Run!"
"No, don't run-- act casual! But hurry!"
They-- extremely awkwardly and unconvincingly-- seem to all change their mind about which way they're headed, and in seconds they hurry back the way they came and out of sight.
