So, what have the strangest or most favorite parenting combos that characters have been inflicted with in Amber games, either as player or GM?

  I had one where my character didn't know who it was, so he walked the Pattern and commanded it to send him to his father.  It placed him right next to where Benedict, Dworkin and Random stood talking together.  Dworkin saw it happen and immediately said "Not it!".  The other two had no idea what it was about and just gave him the fish eye for interrupting their conversation.

I had a character Yvette, who was a daughter of Corwin,  conceived with a French noblewoman during the mid 1700s.  He uad vanished, so she wandered the world searching for him in vain. Realizing she was apparently immortal,  and superhuman,  she desperately tried to find her place and purpose in the  world
Instead,  she found two dozen other illegitimate children of the randy Amberite, and all 25 of them then proceeded, due to a tragic combination of ignorance and ego, to have a Highlander style battle to the finish,  hunting each other throughout time and space,  until Yvette emerged as the sole survivor.
To her annoyance,  there was no "prize", but soon after Gerard showed up and found her.   He asked if she knew of any siblings on the Earth shadow, and she smiled sheepishly and answered "Um.....no?"

Well, the one with the bulk of the characters has been spotty lately, and most of my characters are in limbo (AKA one's in the library reading, one is painting, etc.)to be played when needed. The GM had their schedule changed and then got vaccinated. She's finally back on her normal schedule and feeling better. Two on here, the GM gets swamped with work (independent contractor or something) so post there happen probably twice a month.



In most of my Amber games, I got to pick the parent. Though it was from a list given to me by the GM. Though the one run by Lance did surprise me.

So, what day is Janessa showing up?  Day 5, 6, 7, 8, 9 or 10?
As this can impact who is available to bump into her.
As would the time.

As an example, Jon was just in the library on Day 5 before lunch and headed to his room also near the library.
But after Lunch, Jon and probably Ari were heading into town to apologize to the old woman :)

Janessa, if you go to the Game Wiki, you'll see what we have been keeping track of timeline stuff as best we can since it got a little bit hinky.

Days "1-4" are donezo. Technically the concert scene I'm running for Jon, Ari, and Jade happens the evening of day 4, but as soon as it's done, it's off to day 5 for everybody.

Days 5-7, Jade's AFK. Days 5-??? Ballad's AFK. Lance is being very responsible and sticking to his timeline, which means he's on Day 8 right now, about to head back to Amber for an appointment. If you're arriving on Day 8, there's Lance.

The morning of day 5, Jon and Ariadne have some plans (I believe), but are also free for run-ins. Ditto day 6, day 7, and day 8 is the 'catch up' goal for everybody.

In conclusion, what makes the most sense is probably having Janessa appear on Day 5 (for a run-in with Jon and/or Ariadne before they go chat with a certain old lady) or Day 6 (for the same).

I have a question about the wiki timeline....where does Janessa's timeline fit in? She's done stuff before Day 1 of the timeline.

You don't have to worry about putting anything 'before' down on the timeline, although if you (or people) want individual pages on the Wiki to keep track of their PCs timeline more in-depth, that can probably be arranged. So for you, I'd just start with your re-entry to Amber on what we've got marked as Day 5 and go from there. Its existence is really just because we were all getting a bit lost with some time jumps etc.

I wouldn't mind a page, just for my own sanity! But I will put Janessa back in Amber for day 5.

Y'all - I've been heckin' busy but am aware I owe posts. Concert peeps - I'll get to you tomorrow evening. But in the interest of getting everybody onto Day 5, I'm probably not going to be as Nefarious and Dastardly as I'd planned, isntead planting seeds for Nefarious and Dastardly Doings, to be cashed-in later. :P

To that end, think about what your character might want to accomplish/what they might want to seem like when they're surrounded w/ Amber's nobility and send me a private message bout it. I might ask y'all for a roll, I might not. This might be a roll worth XP if you fail, it might not. TBD.
