Artificer here... With some crazy rolls for stats. If we get the XP and materials I think I can help with trimming down the equipment slots.

I wasn't asking to play it, I don't mind either way though my original concept had kinda planned on a prestige class... I think I can still make it a thing with base classes to dual up.

You know, unmaking someone else's homunculus is hurting them in a lot of ways. 2d10 damage to a class that may only have 3d6HP... And you get the XP they have invested in creation and improvements as craft reserve.

Speak for yourself. I have very high UMD. ;)

However, fixing magic items usually require spells to do it, not just some handwaving or tricking the magic item. It doesn't usually cover the actual fixing either. Warlock and Artificers with their ability to mimic spells for making magic item don't make only a UMD roll, either. They make the UMD roll to mimic the spell, then a separate roll for the actual item creation.

I was thinking real life... When my kid stops up the toilet, or can't print from their tablet... There are an odd series of parallels.

Maybe not making that second roll is why I'm not a manufacturer.

I think that for this to be a kind of heroic survival game you can say that the player heroes are the first resurgence of heroic classes in generations... So much so that people don't recognize it as they have been in a kind of automated artifice world...

Class specific items are simply dormant as the classes haven't been around. Museums and such might have them, classes may not be something people can recognize though. All the world is likely command word items that would be generic to task.

Made from schema and creation patterns that nearly anyone can use... 1 time a day. I think the factions and houses can't exist as people with anything more than dragonmarks for power.

Generic magic weapons and armor are sought after by those in the Fighting League for both style and effectiveness.

When this threat happens though, teams would form and people would have likely only been able to field a few teams confident and actually capable of fighting back. Depending on the frequency of the tears and their nature, it might be as little as hours before anything not in a big city might be overrun. Though that might take as much as years for the dead to spread far for significant damage to outlying areas to be noticed.

It might be months before people even accept that it is really happening to the world.

I would like those characters that have unique class features to know their abilities.

something more like how the renaissance festivals and SCA... https://www.sca.org/ ... keeps the traditions of the middle ages alive in a novelty sort of way.

...or how there are still blacksmiths and cobblers in our real world...but they have gone from an everyday occurrence seen on every street corner ... to a rare specialty one must travel or go searching for.

Okay... So any given feat, ability, or spell is available somewhere... Large population is most likely but each likely only has one Library and one Combat Training Barracks... There might only be one such place for all the world with Teleportation Circles that work off command words allowing anyone to use them. It also begs the question of what are the boundaries of cities.

Are you really in rural no where if you have half a day walking access to a Circle and can teleport to any major city virtually any time?

Teleportation circles large and small are integrated into the mail and mass transit system of the world. but the persons that mass produce the actual circles...that is likely the only thing that individual is good at.

Most long distance transit needs are met via the lightning rail system, airships, teleportation circles.

Short distance transport down the block or across town is largely handled by carriages drawn by horses (mechanical and organic) as well as arcanely enchanted vehicles and "pathways" through the city that give commuters the ability to fly when "on the path".


for reasons of keeping some things simple the population is not significantly higher then "cannon" ebberon. But when it comes to the "boundaries" between cities there is enough instantaneous travel options between cities and towns that a person could visit every town/village/city without actually stepping foot outside any of them long enough to truly understand the distance being crossed instantaneously.

these individuals are an example of someone so specialized that they do so to the exclusion of everything else. they are truly good at that one thing, but are incapable of doing anything else.

Only one person has been discussing using gestalt, but no one has come out against it. but neither has anyone else joined the team for gestalt.

I would like more then one player to be involved in the decision, so i wait for some more input.

yes i am moving forward with gestalt.

If you want to modify your character your self, feel free.

but if like the person who asked for help modifying their character you have the idea of what you want but find inputting it very taxing...send me a private message and i will be happy to do the data entry.
