To the Library! (1.0.0d)
Tavi's trip through the bustling city was eventful... and it was likely the most people he had ever seen in one place ever, considering his upbringing. He found a jeweler and, after some haggling, managed to buy the gems for nearly full market price (450gp).

His trip then led him to a scribe, with a stall filled with books. He was a half elven... boy? Man? It was hard to tell his exact age but he looked quite young to be a scribe.

Tavi was absolutely ready to leave with all the people around him. There should never be this many people in one place, it was just asking for something bad to happen!

When he got to the scribe he had his hands in front of him to prevent them from shaking. "P-pardon me, I'm wondering if you have any idea where I can go for texts on the original languages. Words and languages predating Draconic..."

Wisla makes her way into the libary to meet up with Tavi. She sees the man speaking with someone looking for some help and moves closer awaiting the response before speaking to him about finding the needed equipment for the journey.

Without saying a word he put a large bag in Wisla's hands. The total sum of gold that he was able to get for the gemstones. He wanted to send her back with a bag so large it took two men to carry but that was for later.

The young man squinted at Tavi for a moment. "Very old languages... hmm. That's a stumper, it is. I don't have anything like that here, not really a market for it, you see. This isn't really a place where scholars visit very often. Often as not it's manuals these folk are after, or religious texts. We get requests for those too.

If you want old texts like that, you should try the ancient library In Tel-Rva or in the Imperial Capital... the last one's a guess. Never been there, mind you, but I hear about their academy and would very much like to see it."

Tavi smiled and waved a hand. "Nothing risked, nothing gained. Thank you for the effort though." He turned to Wisla and his smile continued. "Yes my Dear?" He placed his hands behind his back and leaned forward, rather interested in what she exactly wanted.

"I wanted to discuss what we need to buy for the trip over the mountains. You seem to have a better idea of where we are headed. My plan was a minor bag of holding, some climbers kits and the spell spider climb added to my spell book. I belive we can afford all of those. It will give us the ability to more easily cross the mountains. This is the town to do so."

Tavi closed his eyes to listen to Wisla with his full attention. "An extremely good list. Add cold weather gear just encase we run into people. Very clever with the spider climb spell. I would also encourage you pick up endure elements, we may have all kinds of 'tricks' to resist the cold but if it gets too cold we can still freeze solid."

"Ill spend a gold coin and get a sack of confections for GrandMother."

"I do not know if endure elements is avalible for me. I know about spider climb because i decided not to learn it in the past because it would not function well with a bow."

Tavi shook his head, "Let me borrow your bow for an hour and I'll make it a masterwork. I'll put a small quiver on it with a material in the bottom so you could hold it upside down and the arrows won't fall out. I'll also add on a pair of forks so you can shoot entirely upside down." He waved a hand, "I'll see if I cant learn the words to the spell once we get a bit of learning in us."

Wisla shakes her head on the bow enchantment, "The bow is already magical at least when i weild it. It is the focus of my magic. I would prefer help with the shopping so we can save as much as we can."

Tavi smiled and gestured to the market. "Lead on my general. I will go slow in bartering but I'll do my best to silver tongue some good prices for you."

Wisla heads out to find a minor bag of holding, climbers kits and someone to either copy the spell spider climb from a spellbook or a scroll of the same.

These services can easily be acquired and, with Tavi present, they even managed to swing a discount on everything by buying it in a bundle, though Tavi seems a bit disappointed in his effort. They even managed to find a wand of endure elements that the merchant was willing to roll into the bundle if they wished it.

OOC: you get all that at a 20% discount. I rolled for Tavi and he rolled good, but not quite good enough for the 30% discount :P

Tavi was fairly unhappy he wasn't able to get everything for free but in the end, he had to be happy with what he was able to get her. "Anything else you can think of? At this point, we are so far from the endpoint that I think we can adapt most of the other things we will need."

sorry I didn’t think of this before — I had it on my spell list but then replaced it :/

Zenobia joins the others at the library. She hadn’t been able to find a witch who would teach her the spell she wanted, but there were other ways.

“Wisla, I’ve come across an other spell which could hasten our journey. The Conjure Carriage Formula. With this we can ride in haste when the terrain allows, climb or levitate and leave it behind us when needed, and conjure a new one once we find a road again. I do not have the gold to purchase this, but if I learn the spell I can then use it daily for as long as we need to travel.”

Wisla considers for a moment, "I do not think the chariot would make us any faster. In fact it probably would slow us down." She leans close to whisper, "If we dont cast any magic we can full out runs 24 hours a day. Thats makes us able to cross like 288 miles a day. We would have to stop and rest for you to regain the magical ability to cast the spell. Even if the spell allowed us to travel faster. It would have to do 288 miles in 16 hours to make it better then us running the entire time."

Tavi pressed his lips into a thin line as he felt extremely selfish with what was on his mind at the moment. "I will have to side with Zenobia on this one. A Carriage spell will allow us to travel at night even if I lose control. At current we can travel when I do have control but if she has that spell on back up, could mean saved time. If need be I will forgo my treasure outside of alchemy until any debt for the spell is paid."

"The last thing anyone wants is for me to turn into a Pangolin and lose myself. Trouncing the countryside while looking like a worried armadillo."

Zenobia understood Wisla’s point, or rather she trusted that the maths was right because she was not one so agile with numbers unless she absolutely had to, and would usually trust a pen and paper in that instance.

The witch chuckled at the mention of Tavi turning into a pangolin. These were uncommon creatures to say the least, and she wondered what dictated the form he would take night after night.

“We are perhaps all capable of running through day and night for weeks, our unnatural bodies will allow it... but I am not convinced that this is the way to go. We are not mindless zombies, I for one am still bound to a circadian rhythm, and my daily communion with my patron is not optional, it is a vital element of my psyche.”

“We can all get some rest in the carriage whilst remaining on the move, although I would recommend one of us staying outside to scout our route. We can also plan ahead and discuss strategy, which we couldn’t do whilst running.”

Wisla nods and spends the money to buy the Minor bag of holding 1000 gp, Scroll of summon Carriage 150 gp, Gain spider climb in her spell book 60 GP, 3 climbers kits 240 gp, 200 feet of silk rope 40 gp, Wand of endure elements 750 gp. At 20% discount it costs 1,792 gp.

"Well we have the option either way. We should limit our use of it if possible."
With that she hands the scroll to Zenobia and heads for the place to meet up with the rest of the group.
