Re: OOC
Are we allowing morale bonuses from each other as well? I think most of Tavi's stuff is morale based if memory serves.

Re: OOC
A good number of the bonuses from the Golden Lion martial discipline are morale-based, and so are the Bard's inspiration-type abilities. As are rage bonuses for Barbarian types, which I always forget. I suppose that's a fair trade for the fact we can't experience fatigue or exhaustion conditions, which would mean auto rage-cycling. ;)

Thank you for the list GM, that helps clarify things for me. I actually thought we were still susceptible to mind-affecting effects for some reason. No idea why.

Re: OOC
I'm aware that some party members use morale effects, but you can't affect undead with morale without a feat or class ability

That said, if the people who use those abilities need want the ability to do that, I will create a feat (if there isn't already one) for it.

I don't think anyone should have it right now though, because you have all been reanimated recently.

Re: OOC
Funny and slightly off topic in the vampire savage entry on page 241 of the monster codex there is this gem on the creature which confuses the entire issue:

quote:
Undead Barbarian An undead creature with the ability to enter a rage gains the morale bonuses from rage despite being immune to morale effects. The bonus to Constitution from the rage applies to an undead creature’s Charisma instead.

One of those contradictory rules that makes my head explode.

Rage power still work though and the worst ones are caused by rage cycling.

Re: OOC
Just to point out a common misconception about Darkvision.

Darkvision 60' (which we have) doesn't mean we can see in the dark.
quote:
Darkvision is the extraordinary ability to see with no light source at all, out to a range specified for the creature. Darkvision is black-and-white only (colors cannot be discerned). It does not allow characters to see anything that they could not see otherwise—invisible objects are still invisible, and illusions are still visible as what they seem to be. Likewise, darkvision subjects a creature to gaze attacks normally. The presence of light does not spoil darkvision.

So we can see out to 60' and nothing more without an additional light source.  So it's unlikely the folks on the ground can see the folks on the wall and vice-versa.

Badguys can probably only see and attack folks out to 60' as well.

Re: OOC
Also, the math error in XP arises from OOC msg #131 that awards everyone then present for the first Chaos battle 1000XP.

We were then more recently awarded 2000XP for that same battle.

I'm assuming we're ignoring the original value so longstanding characters should have 4000XP.

Re: OOC
That's interesting about the undead Barbarians.

I'd like to look into a feat to apply morale effects to Undead (or a magic item which allows the same, under certain circumstances). Not that Rasmus has huge bonuses to hand out, but it might be worthwhile weighing that up against retraining options.

Flokis' darkvision (from being a halfbreed) will stay the same as now that he is rather UN-dead. Though his heritage gives him a slight advantage in dim light. Making it double. So if we have moonlight here that would be nice

Re: OOC
yeah, we're upgrading to 4,000XP (consider it bonus XP if you like)

Rasmus, if you'd like, I can do something like grant you Morien's Conviction ability as a feat (you essentially learn it from him) if you'd like to grant Morale to undead.

… though I'd ask that you roleplay learning it under him if you want it.

Sounds like a good role-playing opportunity, even if Rasmus doesn't get the hang of it. Thanks GM.

How is Tavi doing it? Or is that a trade secret ;)

I'll keep my fingers crossed that your luck spills over into reality, Arashi.

Re: OOC
So Im going to try to explain my idea and get a feel if it is possible.

From where I am what do I see of the door where this skull came from and the Cackle is coming from?

Do I have a shot to the square before the door?

Do I have a shot into the door at all? If so how far in does it appear (at this I mean by angle if the door is at 45 degrees that might mean i could hit 10 feet in with cover bonuses. If the door is 90 degrees I might be able to slide an arrow into the door barely ect.)

I want to put an arrow with light cast it either in front of the doorway (To open up vision for others) or up to 15 feet into the doorway to light up as much as possible.

Based on what I see and what my angle of shot is. I will either follow it up with another arrow or just fire 1 for this round.

If I cant see anything just hear a cackle ill go back to the drawing board.

Re: OOC
You can see the door, but not what's inside. You could probably shoot inside against an AC of 10 from your current angle.

Edit: Also, Floki. You can see what got on Erin and the kids. It's some kind of slime and it's eating through her clothing.

Re: OOC
So there is light. Ill probably go to the children next round. I realized I have a wand of infernal healing but I felt getting the damn witch engaged was the most important.

Hopefully that is close enough to give light to her location. Now hopefully it opens up options to others.

I don't really want to metagame this, and if it's secret info feel free to inform me privately, but I suppose I need to know (even if the answer is "you don't know"). The thing that's affecting Erin, is it a creature, object, or effect?

Unless whatever happening to Erin's back is obvious as Arashi arrives, there's no reason for anyone to even look at it.
