Manic Monday (brief interlude)
Please frame a scene the next morning at or around (or not at all associated) with the meeting at the coworking space.

Don’t include names NPCs that haven’t appeared on screen (eg Jan and mama a).  You can makeup npcs.

Feel free to say what  information you want to exgamge, but nothing should really  HAPPEN in these scenes!

Manic Monday (brief interlude)
In reply to Master of Ceremonies (msg # 1):

"nothing happen" like no moves and adventures, or do you mean we also shouldn't have back-and-forth discussions?

Also -- I did invite Jan and Terry -- could they make it?

Manic Monday (brief interlude)
In reply to Claudia Horst (Aware) (msg # 2):

I mean moves and adventures.  These are interludes.

Terry has been "on screen".  Jan hasn't been, so he's not.  Plus you still can't reach him because you chose "didn't reach Jan" in your love letter.  Also, its daytime.

So no Jan.

Does Hasan's conversation with Jan about Vampire politics not count as on screen?

Manic Monday (brief interlude)
In reply to Claudia Horst (Aware) (msg # 2):

I arrive early with muffins, donuts, bagels, and stroopwafel, and I make coffee and herbal tea and black tea for everyone. I straighten the napkins, then I decide they'd be better arranged in a fan. I make sure all the whiteboard markers work, throwing away the stale ones.

(Other people might want to set their scenes before the meeting proper...)

Manic Monday (brief interlude)
In reply to Claudia Horst (Aware) (msg # 5):

Hasan shows up wearing a grey pinstripe suit and a crisp pink shirt. He has obviously just come from work but has removed his tie. He puts his briefcase on the table, opens it, and takes out some documents before closing it and putting it on the floor. Then he sighs and puts one elbow on the table, propping up his chin with his hand. He is obviously exhausted.

Manic Monday (brief interlude)
In reply to Master of Ceremonies (msg # 1):

Soraya arrives wearing a dress circa 1978 with her hair in a headscarf. She has a bewildered look on her face.

"I'm sorry I'm late. This building didn't used to be here."

She walks over to the table and pours herself a cup of hot tea. She surveys the food, selects a donut and bites into it. She grimaces and spits into a napkin. The finds a chair in the corner of the room and sips her tea. She watches Hasan and Claudia to see what happens next.

Manic Monday (brief interlude)
In reply to Soraya Tavalokian (Wizard) (msg # 7):

"Ohmigosh," Claudia says. "I'm so grateful that you all came. I think this is really important. I think we have to talk through what's happened and what we're up against. Here's what I know."

I describe everything that happened to me, and what I know for sure about Welgesteld's plans, and my guesses about his plan to build portals to connect the two worlds and gain dominion over the city.

"I don't know that what Welgesteld is doing is that terrible in principle. People seem to go between worlds all the time. It definitely poses risks, but it could be beneficial if it's handled right. But I do know that Welgesteld is unprincipled -- he was willing to kill us to get what he wanted -- and that him having untrammeled monopoly power over these gateways is probably not going to end well for Amsterdam. So we need to get a handle on it. We don't necessarily need to stop him, but we need to... put a process in place. Make him follow the rules. Find out what the rules should be. Protect the city. And that means we need leverage over him."

I pause. "Or, at least, I need to do that. I don't want to assume you're on board. But I think it aligns with protecting what you care about."

I uncap a marker and write FIND CHAMROSH, AWAKEN MANDALA, PROTECT THE EGG, UNDERSTAND W's PLAN, GET LEVERAGE, PROTECT THE CITY.

"What about you? Hasan? Soraya?"

In reply to Soraya Tavalokian (Wizard) (msg # 10):

"That all sounds in line with my concerns," Hasan says. "I brought some information about the properties W is interested in." He taps the files in front of him then his eyes close momentarily. "I wish I'd thought to give Chamrosh a phone or something. We really need to find her. Do you think the Vampires took her?"

The relevant post is here: link to a message in this game

The part in bold is what I know for sure, the rest is supposition.

"I think we need allies," Claudia says. "Or if not allies, at least we need stakeholders we can talk to whose interests we understand. Hasan, did you talk to Jan? Did he tell you anything about the vampires? Are there factions or power centers within them? They want to stop Welgesteld -- we need to understand why, and what they're capable of, and what kinds of bargains they'd make. Soraya, do you know anything about this? Hasan, also, we need to understand the factions of Faerie -- who's backing Plikplok, who else is involved. Who would be interested in keeping Amsterdam as it is, or in Plikplok's crew not getting too big for its britches. Soraya, what do we know about the fire guys... excuse me, the demonic and tainted? What kind of intel could we gather on them? It seems like Plikplok and Welgesteld are not 100% aligned... what could drive a wedge between them?"

Claudia nods. "That's all right. Sarese should be here any minute, and I think she's a little more up to date. How many contacts do you have with the Fae of Amsterdam, Hasan? Or how easy is it to travel to... you know... where you come from?"

She turns to Soraya. "You can't be the only... magic person in the world. Do you have any knowledge or hints of any others? Any rumors of a gathering of sorcerers, or whatever? Also, if the demons are as good as their word and Ima is restored to health, she's got to know something. They're probably going to be coming to you again, unless there was something special about that bug. We need to find out as much as we can before then. And above all, we need to understand the effects of these gates. I don't know if you have... I mean... I don't know if it's like a fixed set of things you can do, or if you have... I don't know... some way to invent stuff...?"

The Ace Of Spades has lots of meaning in magical symbology, and the Ace of Swords before it.  Soroya, you and Ima would be full of information about it... do you want to share?

Also, you heard a rumors about what it means in the vampire world years and years ago.  What was it?

Did Sarese ever show up, and did she explain anything about Fae politics?

Can she tell us how to actually go to Faerie to petition the rivals of the seaside court for protection, or build a coalition of interested parties who might not be keen on Welgesteld's actions?

Sure, what did you ask and how did she answer your questions about Fae politics?

there are protocols for petitioning the fae from the mortal realm.  Who do you want to ask what?  Her mother will know.

She looks at you pityingly when you suggest building a coalition.

Re: Manic Monday (brief interlude)
In reply to Master of Ceremonies (msg # 23):

I'd love to meet Sarese's mother. I'd love to know who would profit from Welgesteld's downfall, and who will back him for now but is watching to see him stumble, and who has, and won't give him, something he wants. Who knows best what the total effect of the Welgesteld project, on the city and its inhabitants, will be?

Here are my guesses, but feel free to correct them:

who would profit from Welgesteld's downfall?  -- the winter queen
who will back him for now but is watching to see him stumble? -- the king of storms
who has, and won't give him, something he wants?  -- the lady of the dew
who knows best what the total effect of the Welgesteld project, on the city and its inhabitants, will be? -- the knave of oak

I'd also like to find Chamrosh. Maybe Sarese's mother can help?

"Werewolves?" I chew my lip. "I'm not a union organizer, and it might be a conflict of interest if I'm also assembling the blue-ribbon panel, to do organizing? But possibly I could put them in touch with some people. Can you introduce me to the werewolves?"
