Having some family struggles.  Not sure my dad is going to make it through New Year's for medical reasons, so my schedules been jammed.  I'll keep up as best as I can.

I am sorry to hear of it. Do what you feel comfortable with as far as this goes, says I.

Well there should still be Jarlboks, the giant goat things the Swifts owned...

...Did we decide that we're on plains in our current location, or is it more hilly, or light woods, or what

quote:
Whispering Plains - a fertile ground to ground things, large roaming areas for domesticated animals for meat sources. Something that would easily support a civilization. I think that as large as a civilization Duskhaven is becoming it wouldln't put down roots willingly in a blasted wasteland.

Jarlboks - Giant Goats. Since we're on the plains these goats must be rather placid, they aren't tiny sure footed mountain goats or anything. Giant as in the size of cows, or the size of whales?

Entries to fill out:
 - Yellow Spotted Dragon: a small lizard, active during the day, eats most insects
 - Snatcher: an odd creature, similar to an arachnid. Considered wholly evil due to its methods. Laying in wait, this child size creature will emit a cloud of hallucinogenic vapors which will make weak willed victims walk into it's trap and makes an easy meal.

The biggest are roughly (the horns make it hard to be exact) the size of Indian elephants, average is a little smaller than Indian Elephants

Fill out? You mean, like, provide stats for? Because I will do that if you don't stop me

Re: OOC talk
haha, I won't stop you, I was mostly putting ideas down with more information as it came to me or time allowed.

I also didn't want to create all the creatures myself so I welcome your input, especially since if a creature would fall into one of my areas then I could change into it and I wanted to try and limit any unconscious meta-gaming.

"oh look, it's a magical-flying-laser eyes-invincible and invisible creature! Let me study it!"

You'll have to ask the Narrator if there are still any dinosaurs around (they weren't all turned into Saurians, just as making Swifts didn't mean that there were no more regular birds around).

Anyway:

Yellow Spotted Dragon: Solitary, Tiny
--Scurry: scrambles around fast when it needs to, to avoid getting eaten or to catch a bug
--Instinct: catch bugs
--0-1 damage, 1-2 hp, 0 armor

Snatcher: Devious, Hoarder, Stealthy, Cautious, Solitary, Small
--Puff of Breath: Breathes hallucinogenic gas that makes victims follow it to the foot of its lair (usually a halfling-sized hole in the ground that leads to a tunnel that expands slightly once one gets farther back) (unless it attacks from the entrance to its lair, then victims don't have to follow it anywhere) and then stand still so it can start dragging them inside to be chomped on. By the time the pain snaps them out of their haze, it's often too late
--Instinct: feed on yummy unwary mammals
--Bites with large, powerful jaws (well, mandibles): d10 damage
--12 HP
--chitinous exterior: 2 armor (-1 vs. crushing attacks or magical attacks)
--Attack: close

oh this is excellent - thanks for putting that together!

Dear GM - is there a thread we can have created as a Bestiary purely for collating this kind of information as we go?

yea, looks like the issues Faust was dealing with took a turn or worse. I wish them the best, it wasn't the most positive last message that was left.
