Dungeon World OOC
A more focused chat for Dungeon World. Why don't we start it off with everyone establishing bonds with each other's characters? Share as much of your backstory as you would like, and we can work from there. When you tell your backstory, try to not name places that existed in our last game, as who knows what is still around.

For the start of the adventure, all of your characters have been commissioned by the Council of Duskhaven, one of the emerging city-states of this era, so they had to be there at one point. Other than that, feel free to world build a bit as you fill in places that exist on this new map. If you have any questions, I answer them as best I can.

To talk about bonds, I need to know whom everyone else is.

I'm Wistful Tune, Swift Bard. His name is just that, a particular whistled or hummed or sung "Wistful Tune," but when he has to write it down, he writes it WISTFUL TUNE, so people who don't sing like the Swifts call him Wistful (and he answers to that)... He wants to learn more about the world, and help it come back from the calamitous state that has befallen it...

Re: Dungeon World OOC
Faust is a member of the Duskblades, the order of Darkspore hunters and assassins that stood alongside the humans and Myconid when Ereja's armies attacked.  The Deathcap Kings look down upon his kin for staying in the mountains and refusing to embrace their "power at any cost" ideology, but the Duskblades have never forgotten how their race nearly starved to extinction from overhunting.

As his predecessors before him, Faust was trained by his master/parent in the old ways.  He ventures forth, wearing a mask and robe to hide his true nature until his reputation can exceed his racial infamy.

Otherwise, he's a standard Thief.

In reply to Alyx Faust (msg # 3):

One note, Faust, we are playing an undetermined but lengthy time in the future from where the DoW game ended. The Deathcap Kings have not been heard of in ages, and what is left of the Duskblades probably only know of them from fragments of legends passed down.

Try to use your class bonds as a starting point, but be as creative as you want making connections between characters. Just remember to make them resolvable!

I'm still waiting to see what the other (2?) characters will be like before deciding...

Kassau (Forestal Nassau) Druid, who has planned to see the world, named Thistle

I have shown Wistful a secret rite of the Land.
As a creature of the sky Thistle felt compelled to share the mysteries of the land beneath them. The secret of the bear sleeping, the Doe bounding away from danger and how moss always shows the way. As Thislte showed more to Wistful he decided to share the change of the seasons.

ooc: I think I"m tired. I'm not happy with the above bond, I'll adjust/manipulate it as we go forward. Alex is up next.

In reply to Cordin (msg # 9):

For 1 bonus xp, tell me about the change of the seasons works now in this world.

Questions to help you think:
  • How many are there?
  • How quickly do they change?
  • Do they change in an order?
  • Do they always remain the same length?
  • Who or what is responsible for them?
  • What is your role in this rite?
