Re: OOC Cantina
Hello again, my dear players. I've been away on one of those "I took too long away and now the longer it gets the harder it is to show my face again" breaks. My takeaway is that Edge of the Empire is, as the GM, rather frustrating and complicated to run. It's far heavier than my normal fare, and I knew that going in because I've already run it a few times before. The hope was that it would be easier with my experience and having looked into how others handle it. Unfortunately, I still have enough trouble that it turned me off from posting for, um... Ten months? However, I like all the players and I like all the characters, so I don't want to be away forever. As such, I see a few ways forward.
-We could continue as we were and just pick up where we left off. It wouldn't likely go much better than before, but it would also require the least transition.
-I could finish piecing together Star Wars rules using the Cortex Prime game system, modeled after the Firefly RPG. It's experimental and would take a little more time, but I had a good time when a friend ran a Clone Wars game for us using Firefly itself.
-We could swap out EotE for one of the other existing Star Wars rule sets, D6 or D20. They each have their flaws, but they're also established and ready to go.
-Savage Worlds? Fate?
Also, all this depends on how you, the players, are feeling. If you're up for continuing even after such a long disappearance from me, that'll make these options make a lot more sense than if this game is ready to be set down and packed up.
So how is everyone feeling?
