"Welcome to honest Kra's used goods store! Today we are having a special! Very very good, yes? Half off torches and slightly used pitchforks!"

Greetings all, I will be catering to all your technological needs as well as providing philosophic commentary and comic relief.

It looks like the mechanic role is filled.  I'm thinking of taking the heavy spot but not settled on that just yet.

Hello everyone! This game is officially full! That was much faster than I anticipated.

It looks like our experience ranges from "played a lot" to "never played before", so it's going to be good times introducing Edge of the Empire to more players. I'm pretty excited, and I hope you are too. :D

hey everyone!

I've decided that I want to play a character themed around "acquisitions," - obtaining things of use for the party through some method.   I've more or less boiled that theme down to three options, and figured since I'm pretty indifferent about which one I go for, I'd leave it up to y'all to cast some votes.

In book order:
a) Explorer (Trader)
b) Smuggler (Thief)
c) Technician (Slicer)

Thinking I will go Scoundrel and go with a gunslinger feel.  Learning toward him being a reformed criminal that is now in law enforcement of some type but can't shake his underworld reputation. He's a smooth type that always has his hand on his holster and a smile on his face. If that fits with what others are thinking.

My vote would be for Slicer by the way.   Just don't see many of them.

Heya everybody!

I'm looking forward to learning because I'm one of the never played befores. I'm pretty open to trying anything but I lean towards roguish types. I'm still looking through the rules but if we need a Pilot I'd happily fill the role. Anything under Smuggler or Explorer looks up my alley though and I'm totally open to suggestions.

I'm one of the played-a-lot folks so feel free to ask any questions. The character concept I pitched was for a heavy who specializes in stun damage, but I don't have to go with that if someone else wants to play the heavy. I'm flexible.

Always room for two heavies. I believe you'd pitched a brawler type, which pairs well with a more blasty type. With so many less combat-focused teammates, it'd be good to give the enemy two people to focus their attention on while your mechanic, technician, and slicer do their respective jobs. It's a lot easier to repair an engine when you don't have blaster bolts in your insides.

Think I've settled on Wookiee for a species.  One option would be as a Bodyguard with the heaviest blaster I can get my hands on.

Then again, a Wookiee Marauder swinging a vibro-axe does have a certain appeal.

And Slicers can be extremely effective.  Security seems to be more on the physical side in Star Wars with not as much effort put into securing computers.  Could lead to some entertaining Decker (from Shadowrun) shenanigans.

For the pilot I would say go Smuggler first because if we are running blockades and tangling with space pirates then Smuggler Pilot is more about the actual maneuvering.  Astrogation is important for the exploring.

A Trandoshan and Wookie merc team would be fun.  Just saying.

Has someone else settled on a Trandoshan?

If those two can learn to live and work together, why can't the rest of the galaxy?  All I want to do is make enough credits to retire young enough to enjoy it.......

edit: on second thought, the natural animosity hatred between the two species might make that a bad idea.

Ok, I'll probably just go the Smuggler Pilot route then. I'm thinking I'd like to be a Twi'lek race-wise.

Hello folks!

You have a pilot and he prefers to go by Bril for short.

My intention is for at least one of your early adventures to involve you getting a ship, rather than starting with one. Bril's backstory gives a good opportunity for me to present you with a ship, though I'd put some obstacles between you and the cockpit to make it interesting. That said, I'd like it to be one the players are happy with. This is one of those places I'm willing to be a little more flexible, much like with species., because there are a whole bunch of ships in Star Wars and playing with them is fun.

If you've got any particular ships in mind you'd like to see as the crew ship, now's a good time to discuss it. If not, I can always choose one for you, though I tend to choose ships based more on aesthetic quality than practicality because I'm like that. Edge of the Empire suggests limiting player groups to a 120,000 credit ship or lower, and while I use that as a guideline, that's another area I'm flexible. Mainly looking to supply you with a vessel that fits a few parameters:

Should fit a party of 6, and not require too much more crew than that.

Shouldn't really piss off the Empire so much, since keeping a low profile is sort of important.

Should be able to land on a planet so you can actually get to it and go places without secondary shuttlecraft.

Not be a YT-1300 because I have feels about using Totally Not The Falcon.
