S1E2 - First Impressions

[New Episode! Everyone refreshes to 0 Strain, but keeps their Wounds. No one's Obligation is triggered. We start with 4 Destiny Points on the table, two Light and two Dark.]

Sold out by their former captain, the crew of the Silver Thorn has narrowly escaped being sold into slavery, evicted Captain Jalmac, gained a new crewmate, and burned several bridges on the planet Tarawa. They've made it as far as hyperspace, and now have time to catch their breath and assess their situation.

Iaarkahr's first order of business was to investigate the cargo the captain took on while his crew was indisposed. Much of what he found in the manifest was labeled as "Water" being sent to some planet called Tatooine out in the middle of nowhere. Some was marked as "Electronic Components" and was being delivered to the Wheel, a space station for people who didn't want to be found. One curious item was marked as "Live Transport" and was being monitored by the ship's apparently new medical droid.

Zindra set about rooting through the ship's systems and familiarizing herself with the new ship. She is eager and endlessly curious, and working hard.

[Zindra, give me a Mechanics roll at 2D, 1B from having serviced this ship before, and 2S from having not actually gotten into the gritty bits before and being new to it. We're going to see if you get any temporary bonuses or setbacks to fiddling with the vessel for a while, until you get the hang of her.]

S1E2 - First Impressions

The group had a few minutes now to decide where they wanted to go first and it looked like they had a few options.  Iaarkhar had never dreamed water would be a valuable enough commodity to transport such a bulky fluid to the middle of nowhere but it looked to be well worth the effort involved based on the amount in the cargo bay.

Before they made a decision, however, Iaar decides to go 'meet' the new droid and find out more about this "live transport".

Edit: there must be some sort of contact information on the manifest for each of the cargoes.

[Here's what you can gather from the cargo manifest: the components will take the crew on an action-based sidequest aboard a space station, while the water will take you on a social sidequest on a desert planet. Neither is vital to pursue. The live transport has a little gold floating symbol over it denoting a main story quest. :P]

The medical droid was a standard 2-1B medical unit, the ubiquitous medical droid found in infirmaries across the Galaxy. It seemed intent on its task of monitoring the transport crate's control panel.

Most of the crates seemed pretty standard but Bril let out a sharp whistle when he came across the crate labeled Live Transport, "There's that signature Jalmac sketchiness I've come to know and expect."

It seemed like Kahr was looking into the whole living cargo situation so Bril decided to make his way to the cockpit and figure out where The Silver Thorn was heading.

Iaar turns to Bril before he leaves, "You're more than welcome to stay here, maybe you'll see something I miss.  Besides, we need to decide where we're heading first.  And what this 'live transport' might need to eat on our way there."

Then turning to get the droid's attention, "Hello, 2-1B, what do we have here and where was it to be delivered?"

The droid looked over to Iaarkahr for a moment, then back to its work.

"Greetings. I'm sorry, but information access regarding this transport container is restricted to members of the crew. Passengers aren't authorized for that. As for where it is to be delivered, I don't have that information, myself. I am a doctor, not a cargo handler. Do you have medical needs that need tending to?"

In the cockpit, the FA-4 pilot droid in Brilk'airn's spot turned to glance at him as he entered the cockpit.

"Welcome aboard the Silver Thorn, sir. We're taking a moment to jump to the end of the local star system, where we'll await further instruction from the captain. Please let him know the jump will be over in a few seconds.""

Zindra got her tools and started really checking the systems. "Tell me if you find any interesting tidbits!" she called to the other two.

21:35, Today: Zindra rolled 1 success, 3 advantages using the Star Wars Edge of the Empire with a dice pool of 2A 2P 2D 1B.
