As your senses told you, there is a snowstorm. You spend the day indoors in Apple Lane. Thane Vasana has her house, and there are rooms at the Tin Inn.

((OOC: As I've only seen posts by Erina, Tannis, and Vasana, anyone else not starting (and continuing) to post will stay in Apple Lane. Should Erina and/or Vasana wish, you can bring some NPCs along. Should you want to, Erina can bring two of her carls (armed and battle-experienced farmers), and Vasana can bring Hendroste the Horsemaster.))

"Maybe we can find someone in Oakton who can tell us more about the sakkar." Heortarl suggests. "Sarolk had his leg cut off by their sword-teeth. Maybe he can tell you about that..." he trails off.

Vasana doesn't hear about any other important news when talking to the villagers.

Unfortunately the Orlanth initiates among you sense that the snowstorm will continue for two or three more days. Do you wait it out or, against all advice and normal practice, hurry on?

Vasana is willing to wait at least another day or so and see if there is some sign of a break in the weather.  However, with all of the odd things that have happened of late, she prepares for the possibility of venturing out into the snow if it seems the only option.

I have lost track of dates/time, but Vasana will visit the Orlanth temple (preferably on the next holy day) to seek guidance and for strength and wisdom in the coming fight.

Erina fears no snow! She likes snow, in fact; the cold is invigorating. Even so, it would be rather impractical to try to hunt cat-beasts in driving snow, so she can see the wisdom in waiting until the storms are done. She goes to the Orlanth temple and boisterously declares that Orlanth's battle against Vallind is always glorious.

You climb your way through the snow to spend some time at the Temple to all the Deities. Every step you take you have to lift your leg high to get above the snow. The wind whips snow at you, making you look like some weird snow creatures. Wherever you happen to expose your skin it burns like fire. When you finally get to the temple you have to spend some time shoveling snow in order to get the door open.

Inside you are greeted by Kareena who serves you some hot soup. She is a little surprised you ventured outside in this weather, but is happy to talk about the cult and its myths. A formal worship ceremony will next be held on the next Holy Day of Orlanth which is in a little more than two weeks, on Windsday in Movement Week.

The rebel leader Kallyr Starbrow, a member of House Sartar, has recently returned from her exiled guerilla war and claimed the throne, making her Prince of Sartar. There is a rivalry between Leika and Kallyr.))

Vasana enjoys spending some time with Erina and Kareena.  She always seem a bit more at peace after visiting any place dedicated to Orlanth, even if shared by other gods.

Vasana makes sure she is warm and bundled up before returning through the heavy snow to her house.  There to await some clear weather in order to make the journey to deal with the Sakkar.

Sitting in her cozy home, with a roaring fire in the hearth, she reflects back on what a tumultuous year it has been.  She hopes that she will get the chance to settle down for a while until Spring once they have taken care of the big cats.

The biting cold and driving snow invigorate Erina. It is a contest of strength in both body and mind, a renewing challenge with every step. Of course, she appreciates the comforts of warmth and home, and she prefers them to the blizzard. It is that very preference, though, that makes the trial worth taking.

Inside, Erina has no problem joining the jaunty tune dedicated to Leika, rather than Kallyr. She knows that she's probably not privy to some secret information, but Erina doesn't think much of Kallyr, who to Erina seems rather puffed-up rather than a font of accomplishment.
