25 Darkness 1625: Cattle Raid

((OOC: Erina and Vasana: As no one else is posting it's just you now (and young Heortarl). Do you bring your two carls and Hendroste, or do you prefer to manage by yourselves?))

Sitting out the snow storm you leave for Oakton on Windsday. It's cold and cloudy but the wind has receded and there is no precipitation. It's a slow ride through the deep snow.

As you approach the walled village of the Varmandi clan you are greeted by the warriors on watch, as they recognize the herder boy. As you are let through the gates your animals are taken care of. It seems everyone here knows about your mission.

You notice the Oak of Vengeance, a sacred oak in the center of Oakton. It is the source of the clan’s terrifying war cry and their ability to heal themselves in combat.

You are properly greeted by the clan chieftain, Korol Serpent-Tongue.

He is handsome and witty. Already before he became the chieftain of the Varmandi clan, Korol was famous as a poet (hence his nickname). With his sarcastic poems he has incited people to attack him, and being also a skilled warrior he is known to have killed at least three people in such a situation. He is also the one who gave the former tribal king/lunar puppet his derogatory nickname: Blackmoor.

He invites you to his hall where he serves food and wine. He is thankful for the tribal queen to send aid against the sakkar.

((OOC: Feel free to interact with Korol or someone else in Oakton, or simply continue into the Gejay Hills with Heortarl.))
