INFORMATION

http://www.dangerpatrol.com/da...trol_beta_021910.pdf

LOCATIONS:

--Mercury: rocky and hot. Almost all humans live beneath the surface.

--Venus: swampy and wet. Has an ocean, but also jungles, and swamps-- both shallow and deep.

--Luna: Earth's moon, still in orbit where it used to be... its orbit around the sun is a bit unstable, though. Lots of prospectors use Luna as a base from which to prospect and mine the radioactive remains of Earth/Terra.

--Mars: a desert world, home to Rocket City.

--The Asteroid Belt: Lots of miners. The stereotypical Belt miner is tall and thin, a good pilot, and used to high-risk situations.

--Jupiter: a gas giant with ancient floating cities. The largest floating city (that we know of) is in the center of the Red Spot, and is the home of the Crimson Republic, a militaristic nation ruled by the despot, Grand Commander Zukov (a head in a jar attached to a robotic spider body). The CR is obsessed with perfecting atomic technology (now banned in Rocket City, although old atomic cyborgs and robots are grandfathered in) and turning their population into atomic-super-soldiers with which to conquer the solar system. The CR is  officially at peace with Rocket City, but an invisible cold war rages, with enemy agents hidden everywhere.

The other floating cities:
--at first glance usually look like they've been abandoned for a long time, but it's not always true
--always turn out to be dangerous for some reason or another
--move around a lot, so one usually just finds them by accident (there are exceptions though)

--Saturn: most details to be established during game play.

Saturn's largest moon, Titan:
--Titanics have a similar, bipedal appearance to humans, but are very different physiologically.
--Their green, hairless skin and larger cranium (complete with antennae) quickly distinguish them from humanity; as do the second, smaller set of arms.   Their primary arms grow from the top of the torso, from the shoulders (like humans have); but a secondary set of arms grow below that.  While not as functional as the primary set, neither are these arms vestigal; serving more of a utility function.   Used in body expression, and holding items, for example.
--Titanics evolved from the ubiquitous insectoid life forms that proliferate Titan; filling many of the niches that mammals held on Terran earth.

--Ouranos: (once known to Earth as Uranus) Most details to be established during game play.

--Neptune: wet and watery. Most details to be established during game play.

--Pluto: dark and icy. Among other things (most details to be established during game play), Pluto is home to the Stygian Adepts, an evil cult from the 5th Dimension who worship entropy. They’re the hooded dudes (made out of living shadow?) with wicked curved daggers—they practice dreadful sacrifices and creepy dark magic.

--Planet X: Most details to be established during game play.
