It took me three reads of that not to read it as "bath" rather than "blah"!

But seriously, no worries, Chief.  Real Life Takes Precedence.  Don't let this become another stressful To-Do List item.  Come back when you will enjoy it, and we will look forward to enjoying it with you.  :)

Does anyone have a particular plan they want to propose? Otherwise, I think it's the Walkers off on a bit of a wander to try and either find where they went or where they've been?

I think we have two tracks going: that one, and exploring how to make the Nem move elsewhere...

BTW, who is still around?  Some folks haven't posted in awhile...  :o

I've talked to Cube, but he hasn't responded yet.  Acia hasn't been a factor for months.

If you guys want to carry on, I'll carry on with a reduced group or open recruiting to take over abandoned characters.  If this isn't really going how you envisioned, then I am open to suggestions, or I can just let the game go.  What say you?

I suggest opening to new players, giving them the option of adopting orphaned PCs or creating new ones.  Then write the new PCs in and the unclaimed PCs out (or NPCing the latter, depending on what is best for the GM), and off we go...  :)

OOC Discussion

Hey folks,

I'm Simon from Scotland, and I'll be (attempting to play) Q'nur, a Confident Delve that Exists partially out of Phase.

I'm a complete newbie to Numenera (and to the Cypher system) so I apologise now for all my upcoming questions and the continual retconning of my posts every time I get something wrong about the game world. :)

My character should be up and available for you to have a look at, so I'd appreciate it if you could run an eye over it in case I have missed anything.

My description and background will undoubtedly develop once I understand the setting and the character slightly better.

Simon

Eris:

Thanks Eris's player :)

So I guess (merely from looking at the map) that would possibly make Shallmas (a town?) or Fasten as good places for Q'nur to come from? I was thinking the capital city, but that feels too cosmopolitan.

Player thoughts?
GM thought?

Re: OOC Discussion

Shallmas should be fine, or Faster either.  If you're delving for parts, heading out into the relative hinterlands for a new installation to plunder would be very appropriate.

Plunder? Plunder? I'll have you know this is an ancient and noble art that I'm practicing here, handed down from generation to generation. I'm not some scuzz-sucking pirate. :D

Re: OOC Discussion

Some more (possibly newbie) questions:

Are we actually humans or human-like evolutions?
Are we all 'traditional' human looking?
Can we have atypical skin colours?
Can we have different numbers of arms / eyes / fingers / toes / tentacles
Do we have to be made of flesh and bone?

Re: OOC Discussion

This is the Ninth World, and all things are possible.

Most people are "human", but that varies a lot more than it does nowadays.  Having wildly atypical skin colors would not be overly unusual, nor having a differing numbers of fingers or toes.  If you get too much beyond human body configuration (i.e. tentacles) you would be considered a mutant, which carries a stigma in some places.  Mutant is actually a descriptor you can take, which can come with interesting powers, possible drawbacks, and some rather colorful and different changes to their forms.  If you'd like to be a mutant, let me know.

If you're not made of flesh and bone (for the most part), you might be a mutant, AI, plantform, or something of the sort, all of which carry various descriptors.  Now some people might have parts of their body replaced by another substance (metal, crystal, hard light, etc.) due to some unusual numenera, but that would not be inherent.

Did you have something specific in mind?  :)

Re: OOC Discussion

No, nothing in mind (other than possibly a different skin colour). I'm just trying to  get a feel for things in this system. But it pretty much seems to be 'do whatever you want as long as it's not game breaking' :)
