Re: OOC Discussion

Best of luck (and wisdom and foresight) in creating a constitution that is fair and creates more equality, durable, malleable enough to grow with the times, and more respectful of the vast differences in people than the American constitution is.

Paraton, best of luck and wisdom to you. I know you already know this, but you are doing something incredibly important. *hugs*

Re: OOC Discussion

I want to thank you all for your kind words, they meant a lot to me.

I also want to give you a heads up, because I'm on holidays for a week more, and I'll be posting when I can.

Best wishes to all!

Partially. Likely a combination of metal and synth.

Yeah, standard explorer's pack is 50 feet of rope, hammer, 3 spikes, 3 days rations, 3 torches, 2 glowglobes, warm clothing, sturdy boots.

And I did all that from memory because I've written out too many pre-con chars for live one-shots.

Aside from work and occasional grocery store visits, me and mine are staying away from all and sundry.  May we continue in health!  :)

Re: OOC Discussion

My profuse apologies for being AWOL...  :(

This semester has already been wilder than anticipated with a course lecturing overload plus some new material plus busier admin, but with the virus-related adjustments needed in the coming days and weeks, I will have to crank it up another notch.

I do not know how often I will be able to check in on things here, so please feel free to do whatever is needed to advance the story without me.

Sending you all virtual hugs and prayers...  :)

Re: OOC Discussion

We three are, fortunately, just very bored from having been quarantined for more than two months. But yes, things in the country are looking very, very grim. It's very cold right now, hospitals are at capacity, unemployment is high... We're taking good care not to need a doctor for anything.
Personally, we've done all the quarantine stuff: baking bread, cooking lots of stuff, learning to play the guitar, learning to draw, buying a hummingbird feeder, inventing lots of games with my daughter, playing No Thank You, Evil! with her, bonding with her over the D&D Monster Manual (she's decreed all the monsters are, in her case, good, and made friends with the beholder)...

How are you all doing?

Re: OOC Discussion

Haven't made friends with a beholder yet, but trying to stay safe.  My state, Wisconsin, had all our safety orders tossed by the state supreme court (idiots) so we have very minimal social protections.  Most businesses and county governments are taking it seriously, but people from neighboring states are coming here to vacation and party.  Today was the highest new case numbers yet and the death toll is accelerating also.  Hospitals in Minneapolis (next door in Minnesota) are sending patients north because they are at capacity (before the riots).

My family is safe, but overall, things will get worse before they get better.

Re: OOC Discussion

I'm in Iowa, and while things have not been as bad as they could be, our state government didn't shut things fast enough and opened things far too soon. Plus we're ground zero for some of the meatpacking plant outbreaks, so that is weighing on my mind.

I've mostly been working through the pandemic, barring three weeks on furlough, because my plant had government contracts.  It's basically impossible to do proper social distancing in many parts of the job. And it's getting very hot and humid here, so wearing a mask on the factory floor is courting heat stroke. I do wear it everywhere else I go, but really can't at work.

Husband's been off for over two months, and has been mowing through all our streaming services like they're going out of style.

If I recall correctly, the asset value of help from a Trained or Specialized person is 2 levels of difficulty easier, yes?
