OOC Discussion

I just assumed people would like to continue to advance to within a good range of attack (short to immediate) the next round, so carried on with that.  If you wanted to do something else, please do let me know.

Acia and Fen, you can give me two rounds' worth of actions once you get a chance to post!

Am I correct that I needed this turn to get within range for taking action next turn?  :)

Everyone needed an extra turn of action to move closer, so I basically did an extra round where people just moved.  The nasty beastie was occupied by its prey for that round, so now, this round, you are all close enough to act.

If you wanted to use your second round to do something other than move, just say so.  :)

Does this mean that I was correct in making another move-oriented action post just now, or should I also have been posting whatever action I am taking when within range?  O_o

Assuming everyone wants to be in melee range, and spent both actions moving, right now everyone is within immediate distance of the beast.

Should I add an action to my latest post then?  :)

Yarp!  Lemme know if you're going to diplomacize or smack down or invert or whatever is the thing you do!

GM:
Cube's grip is relentless and painful, and the creature reacts very violently, lashing out at everyone with its remaining tentacles.  Instead of contacting them, rocks from the disrupted ground begin to float around it, along with one silvery, glowing chunk of what looks like numenera of some sort.  It screams as it flings out the projectiles with invisible force.

OOC: Speed check DT 6 to avoid 6 points of damage.

The chunk of numenera it tries to push into Cube, leaking a violently orange light.

Is this Speed check for Cube or for everyone?  O_o

The Speed check is for everyone.  Cube has his own particular problem he's dealing with, separate from the Speed check.

Uh oh...  With the damage from the Cranky Critter that Eleisai already has, there is a good chance this will knock her down to zero.

What happens when a PC has zero Might?  :o

*points to rules and game terms thread*

quote:
Damage

When a character takes damage, unless stated otherwise, the damage is subtracted from the Might pool first.  If that is at 0, then damage is subtracted from the Speed pool, and then finally from the Intellect pool.  Armor counts damage reduction against physical attacks (melee, ranged, esoteries that cause physical damage, etc.)

A character has 4 levels of health:
  • Hale – normal, all three stat pools at 1 or higher, with no harmful conditions.  If a hale PC takes enough damage to reduce one of his stat Pools to 0, he becomes Impaired.
  • Impaired – Effort costs 1 extra point.  Ignores minor and major effects results on rolls.
  • Debilitated – Cannot take actions other than to move (probably crawl) no more than an immediate distance.  If a debilitated character’s Speed pool is 0, he can’t move.
  • Dead – is dead.

So you become impaired if your Might Pool goes to 0.

1 Pool at 0 = Impaired
2 Pools at 0 = Debilitated
3 Pools at 0 = Dead

This being Numenera, going Dead doesn't necessarily mean dying.  I mean, it's Numenera.  There might be artifacts to revive you, locations that could heal you, clone tanks, dimension copies, or maybe you survive after being in a coma, but you have some kind of strange side effect.  We'll cross that dimension barrier (and possibly back again) if we get there.  :)

RPoL Dice Roller:
22:24, Today: Eleisai rolled 12 using 1d20.  Cranky Critter Carnage, Speed Roll, DT6.

Oof.  Do I get a prize for being the first impaired PC of the game?  ;)

EDIT: BTW, when are we allowed to take Recovery Rolls?  :D

On your turn.  So your one action recovery roll can be taken on your next action if you feel so inclined.  :)

Yeah, I suspect that I will feel so inclined...  :p

I assume that uses up my action for that round?  :o

Yup, it's one action a round, unless you have a special ability that gives you otherwise.
