Mog attempts to swing at the weird thing twice more, barely missing the first time due to its weird nature and adjusts his second swing accordingly which goes straight for its chest.

Re: Chapter 2: The Grave of the Pirate Queen.

Watching the Octo-Man collapse, Fergurth laughs “haha one down, two to go” For such a dainty thing her laugh is unsettling for sure. She hastily loads and fires two more arrows at the one on the left. In her lust for blood, only one shot heads to its mark while the other sails to the open corner of the cave.

Re: Chapter 2: The Grave of the Pirate Queen.

Mog turns and slashes at the center octopus man.

Fergurth shoots the left octopus delver.

Drakul dodges back then lunges back within the reach of his enemy's sword.
Critical success on defense; you must ready your weapon before you can use it again.
Defend or become grappled.

Dagrak charges towards the fray.

Brandaelfr parries so well it throws the deep sea delver off, then follows up with a tricky attack.

Successful in their defense the delvers press their attack on the abominations of the deep. The center octopus man parries a strike from Mog before taking a savage slash from Drakul's knife, yet somehow it miraculously dodges the second blow causing it to turn in the thief's hand. It then attempts to shoot a blast of ink at Drakul and grapple him; the ink misses but the tentacles are on target. The left octopus man can't get it's shield up in time and takes an arrow to the brain, as it is falling dead Brandaelfr relieves it of one tentacle.

Brandaelfr couldn't get into reach of the center one by my math, so you couldn't quite end it this round.

Re: Chapter 2: The Grave of the Pirate Queen.

Readying arrows for another shot, she turns to aim at the middle tentacle beast but holds off on firing them. With Mog and Drakul right up on the Octo-Man, she didn’t have a clean shot. At this point it’d be a waste of an arrow, the thing was good as dead.

Re: Chapter 2: The Grave of the Pirate Queen.

The last octopus man puts up a valiant effort, parrying Mog's strike and shrugging off a stab from Drakul. It even blocks an arrow, but the second arrow from Fergurth finishes it off and it falls dead just like it's friends. The cave now cleared of hostiles the delvers have a moment to examine what was clearly an armory.

The room is a dead end. You can either backtrack or take the other side of the fork that led you to this room.

Drakul regain his grip on the knife, then slit the Octoman’s throat, then wiped the blood on the thing’s pants.

"Let’s come back for their gear when we can afford hands to carry it," he said. "To maintain our ‘keep right’ concept, we should take the other side of the fork."

Re: Chapter 2: The Grave of the Pirate Queen.

Wiping off his blade as well, Brandaelfr says, "That spell was incredibly useful Dagrak! I think Fergurth is doing all the heavy lifting for the party though. The rest of us just held them off long enough for her to put their eyes out. Good shooting!

Halberd shining brightly once again, he resumes his place in the marching order. He says, "I agree with Drakul. The loot will be just fine waiting here until we have cleared out this cave system. Lead on!"

Search success by 3 for anything that looks important on the dead guys. Keys, maps, etc.

Re: Chapter 2: The Grave of the Pirate Queen.

Brandaelfr doesn't find anything useful on the octopi delvers, but he does realize that the hat worn by the middle one has a griffin feather in it ($500). Dagrak scrounges strong the room and is able to assemble a full tool kit for working on melee weapons from the mess of tools scattered about the work bench and floor.

Re: Chapter 2: The Grave of the Pirate Queen.

Fergurth walks up to the downed ocean dwellers and proceeds to pull the arrows out of their eyes, hoping to salvage a couple. She keeps quiet until Brandaelfr mentions her name. Her face turns a deep red, she wasn’t used to the compliments. She instantly shakes off her giddy demeanor and deepens her voice, “Just doing my part guys, let’s go kill more things.” She stows her arrows and falls in line behind Drakul.

Continuing on the delvers make their way to the other side of the fork in which is an empty room. At the end of the room are closed double doors and to the left there is a narrow passageway.

Re: Chapter 2: The Grave of the Pirate Queen.

Drakul determines the door is safe and unlocks it, the group walks into the room and Dagrak sets a warning spell on the doorway. The cavern they see if furnished with a large table with two benches on either side and a large empty throne like chair. In one corner hangs a cauldron in a fireplace, but there is no fire lit; in the other corner there are a few chests. The walls are adorned with faded flags of all different types, likely trophies taken from captured ships.

At first glance it appears that there are ten people sitting at the table, clad in barbaric silks, breeches, and hats. They are making merry, playing cards, eating, and drinking, but after a few seconds of observation the delvers realize their movements are almost mechanical and they aren't speaking or making any sound. As the light from Brandaelfr's weapon illuminates the room a little better they can see that the plates are empty of food, the cups contain no drink, and the reason they aren't speaking is that they are all skeletons!

Heraldry to identify the flags.

Brandaelfr steps into the room and stops when he sees the skeletons. He says, "Uhhhh, hello? I am not sure what I was expecting, but this is not it. I guess we are here to join the festivities?" He takes a step forward into the room.
