When you go in an edit the sheet, there’s three options. First is no word warp, second is word warp, third is make user editable.

Ready to go, but it seems I might be bringing another character with me. So, just waiting for The Other's approval and ok.

I'm probably not going to be able to post again for two or three days. I have a bit of a cold and it's adding just enough stress to my voice that posting every day is getting painful. (I dictate my posts due to disability.) A couple of days rest should help a lot.

Tentatively back. I might not be up to normal pace yet, though. My cold isn't gone — though, I'm starting to think it's allergies from a bunch of ragweed in the neighbourhood — but my throat's feeling a bit better.

Uhg! I truly couldn't have rolled any worse. A 1 and a 2. With the Lucky Skill, I get to roll again if I get two 1s. Oh well, let's see what happens. No Story Point, not really worth it at this early stage of the story. Best to all and Doctor - hope you are feeling better.

Am I doing okay?

I'm doing my best to play a good Doctor, but it's a big role to fill. I don't want to screw anything up that would lose the fun for everybody else. Including the GM. :-)

Especially with my voice issues slowing my posting rate, I wouldn't at all be offended if people want to switch to someone else, or an NPC Doctor.

I'm perfectly happy to keep going as the Doctor, but I just wanted to make sure. I'd much rather continue as a companion than have the game fizzle because of me.

I for one, am not worried about it. PBP is slow anyway, so no worries.

Nope - I think you are wonderful. I could ask you about my interpretation of our beloved Lady Christina as well, but we all do our best. Your work on the Hitchhikers guide to the Tardis was amazing! Still is! Keep up the good work. Yes, it's just slow.

FYI: I recently had a bad experience with a GM in a game I was in. There are messages from me that he may get offended to, Nothing vulgar or abusive (IMO) but since I was calling him on certain behaviors, and our culture has become so weak that criticism is now easily able to get you banned I may disappear from my games. If this happens do not think it is personal.

I was expecting the internet problem to clear up before Christmas--thought it might be the server getting overloaded with holiday e-traffic, but it turns out that the landlord just forgot to pay the bill... and wasn't going to be able to do so until today! So, all better now.

Just wanted to let everybody know that I will be a few days off. Three or four, probably. I've managed to overstress my vocal cords again and I need to let them recover. I'm very sorry, and I'll be back ASAP!

For those that don't remember — or even know — I can't type without extreme pain, so I use dictation software to make my posts. So laryngitis makes even a small post like this one difficult.

Okay, I'll be slow a bit longer, but I'm getting back into the routine again. :-)

I suppose if we were all rapid posters, we might have a bit of an issue with your slow posting, but we all seem to be rather slow albeit for different reasons.

In my case, I no longer seem to have the energy to keep up with all my games on a daily basis. Some days, of course, are better than others.

Just keep plodding along!

I must apologize. My intention was not to abandon the game, just that RL has gotten in the way. I will need to bow out and apologize again for not telling you sooner.

Not a problem. I didn't get as much response to this game as I thought I would, so I was half expecting it to falter anyway.

With Alan gone, and Christina seems to have vanished as well, this game looks like it's on life support now.

Should I try to recruit new Companions, or should I just pull the plug?

If we can find replacements, I'd like to keep trying. My string of winter colds that have been wrecking my voice should be over soon, I hope, so I'll hopefully be able to manage a better posting rate.

Even if you want to reboot things for a group of new players, I don't mind going companion so my voice issues don't hold things up so much again.

He just admitted to being a time traveler himself and i really want to have her immediately respond but i also want to give others a chance to respond and not take over the tread.

Hey all, thought I would introduce myself. I will be portraying Felix "Force" Forcetti. He is the owner of an Omnitrix* he hasn't gotten the hang of yet.

He is originally from one of the alternate earths of the show Ben 10, but that world is in dire straits and Felix isn't nearly prepared to save it. That universe's resident immortal Time-Space guy, Professor Paradox, sent Felix through a portal to this universe where he can become the hero he needs to be before returning. Right now hes the brash, cocky, first thought: punch the enemy alien in the jaw sort of guy. He is throwing off some major Ace from Old Who vibes, but with his own twists and baggage ofcourse.

*For those who don't know, the Omnitrix is  a gadget resembling a wrist-watch that allows the user to transform into any alien species whose DNA has been scanned into it (usually with a max of 10 species programmed in at one time).

Interesting idea! Nice to meet you, Force! I have this feeling we will either get along famously, or fight like honey badgers in a sack. Let's see which it is!

For reference, I am the same. But I'm off to hospital. Flu + Chemotherapy = Not Good.

Apologies for my absence, I was rushed into hospital on Thursday due to severe complications with a medication I am taking. I am finally home, exhausted, sore, but alive - though it was genuinely a close thing. Posts up tomorrow when I have had some sleep and food!

I had x-rays yesterday and it's not pneumonia, thankfully. They are no longer even sure it's an infection. It may just be that '100-day cough' virus going around, or spring allergies triggering my asthma. Doctor is giving me some steroids to try to help, now. Which may make dictation less painful, as well.

In any case, I'm very sorry and I will be back ASAP. Hopefully in just a few days — if that works — but at this point, I'm not sure.

Probably. I'm in quite a few. Nine weeks is much to early for gender but we do have names picked out cause we had been trying but gave up a few months ago. We are also looking into buying a house so thatz crazy too.

It's been a bad month for me, too, though I can't quite put my finger on why. It seems to be something akin to having lost my mojo. It was only obvious when I got it back! ;-)

I was having trouble processing posts and didn't much creative energy. Then suddenly I was creative again. I guess I recharged my batteries.

I can sympathise. I'm fast cycling bipolar, so my state varies from massive creative output, to feeling like a vat of old pudding, very rapidly.

My apologies to everyone (who's still around and interested) for letting this game slip.

A lot of players left the game, so there really isn't too many still here.

If those that are here still want to continue, we can attempt to jumpstart it!

Otherwise, it's probably time to delete it, and chalk it up to another game that just didn't work out.

I was about to post that no one had been to the board in awhile, but I decided to check and found out that at least two people have been here recently!

I was considering pulling the plug on this game, but decided to give it one more try. The problem for me is that I just haven't been able to wrap my brain around it for awhile now. It wasn't quite burnout, but maybe I was just overly tired... couldn't quite wake my brain up enough to process data.

So, I'll give it one more week to see if I can't pry something out of my head.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I am doing a house move tomorrow. While I should have internet via phone tethering, I will not have home internet until February 10th at the earliest. I should be ok to post, but if I go quiet, this is the reason.

More than allergies. :( In hospital with pneumonia, not sure how long. May occasionally manage a post typing on my phone but please don't count on it.

Not to worry. Having computer problems again. Screen goes all wonky on me and can't see anything. Shutting it down clears it up for a little bit, but it's bound to go completely at some point.

I'm back, thankfully it wasn't pneumonia (or COVID). But I'm still coughing a lot, so I'll still be slow.

We lost two players, and the game seems to have stalled, so, is it time to put this game to rest? Or should I try to find new players?

Who did we lose? I'm happy to continue with new players who can post regularly!

As I see it, this currently leaves us with Doc, Jenny, and Johnny still active. Well, that's a pretty classic TARDIS team. Doctor, young female relative, an Earthling out of his time...

But if anyone wants to jump into a new Doctor Who game (freeform, specific characters needed, so no real choice of who you play, as plot is wrotten SPECIFICALLY for them) let me know. I started one, serious illness killed it immediately. Now I am ready to restart. River, Bennie, Ace, and Lady C have been kidnapped and are being forced to carry out an apparently impossible heist, or they will most definitely die. I need an Ace and a Lady C. Anyone intrigued? I need people who can post, if not daily, then two or three times a week.

I'm still here, though I can say playing the Doctor has been a lot harder than I expected. :-)

But yeah, I can't keep up with your other game, Jenny, sorry! My voice is, unfortunately, not getting any better. :-(

I know what you're going through, and I really wish I could do something to help! I totally understand how health can impact game time, after all!

And it can be tricky to do a new Doctor. I've played seven and eleven in games on RPoL, and it was super fun. An original one? Requires a lot more thought!

Nearly all my games are sandbox games, so pretty much anything PCs do is okay. My fun half comes from making things up and from figuring out how to respond to everyone's actions.

I've always hated playing in railroad games, so that's why I don't run them myself.

Likewise. I run freeform gamesm without railroad, except when utterly unavoidable. I am wary when I see a GM describe anything as sandbox, though. Because so many times over the 10+ years I have been on RPoL, that actually means "GM has no plot at all and expects the characters to just do things." Well, I got news for you. This didn't work very well for Strindberg, and it don't grab me, either. A game needs a STORY!

Not an issue here, of course. But I have seen it so often now that when I see a game described as sandbox, I don't even consider applying any more.

I suppose 'sandbox' and 'railroad' represent the two extremes, whereas the reality is most games are probably somewhere in the middle, perhaps leaning one way or the other. I've yet to hear of a term used to identify an alternate to those two terms, though.

In any case, there can be a story or plot or direction without having to be a total sandbox or a total railroad. I can't even conceive of a game that's totally sandbox. The game system alone gives you something. What would be the point of playing a fantasy game using Traveller?

Unlike some games, I can't imagine anyone wanting play Dr. Who without knowing the series. It really isn't like anything else.

This update is copy/pasted to other games. I guess I am outing my alts. But this is not something I want to type over several times.

Had medical examinations internally yesterday. As some of you are aware, I have been fighting cancer the past couple of years. Well, the exploration revealed some nasty little polyps growing on the site where previously tumours had been. This could be entirely benign - a lot of people have this, and it is entirely fine and never causes any kind of problem. In my case, obviously, this is far more concerning. The doctors removed stuff from inside me, and it is being sent away for examinations. Until I get results of this (in a couple of weeks or so, I expect) I won't know for sure whether or not I'm having a relapse, and need more treatment. So I'm not likely to be at my best. I should still be here and posting away, but I would ask for a little patience if I seem a little sub-par when it comes to my posting.

And crossed fingers, prayers, and gifts of cake are all very much appreciated!

As is often said on this site, this is just a game; what's important is YOU! So, your health and family are always more important than some silly little on-line game. If your posting trails off a bit, don't worry about it. We all have bad days due to RL issues. After all, we're not computers even though we use one a lot!

So, here's hoping that your new 'problem' isn't one serious, and if it turns out to be a bit more than nothing, then get well soon! We're all routing for you.

Looks like it's time to kill this game since no one has posted in a few months now. If there's no activity before next Sunday, I'll be deleting it then.

Sometimes RL takes away your control, so that's why I'm not particularly quick to delete characters or game. I've had it happen to me in odd ways.

Add to that that I'm running a lot of games and finding it harder and harder to keep up with them, I think it's time to delete this game.
