Re: Puddle Jumping

Takeshi looks at the group and tries to judge the hardiness of them.
Some injured greatly, Takeshi is out of spells, and we do not want to rely on Yasashi so much that he can not return us from this place.

"I agree with Hiro. Our mission was to free Kukai. Let us finish that. Afterwards we can discuss and plan other rescue attempts. And taking the unconscious spirit might allow them to track us. May I suggest that we kill him and leave."

Re: Puddle Jumping

We have only to wait another day or so, and we will be removed from this plane whether successful or not.  As long as Kukai stays with us, he will be removed as well.

Let me know if any other actions before the spell that sent you here ends and it tosses you back to your plane.

In reply to Yasashi (msg # 533):

Arashi ponders if they are missing an opportunity that may not present it self again.  Just because they were successful coming here once does not mean they will be again.  He can only wonder if being cautious at this point is the right move to make...but in the multitude of counselors there is safety.

Re: Puddle Jumping

Does the sun rise and set in this place? Takeshi must greet the suns morning rays to get his spells back (regardless of cloud cover), so does he get them back here?

Takeshi has no further actions on this plane other than to help protect the group.

In reply to Arashi Fukushu (msg # 534):

Hiro looks to Arashi and Yasashi, "Let us discuss what would be required to rescue Sasumi. Considering it will not hurt us. Yasashi can we release Kukia now? that would free us from worry while we consider invoking Buddha. If not then I think it would be foolish to risk our current rescue to attempt a second."

In reply to Hiro-matsu (msg # 536):

What is our current condition of everyone in the group?
Did Yasahi fully heal everyone?
When will Yasahi and Takeshi have their full powers back?
If we can get Kukai back successfully and the group is fully recovered then we can stay and see if we can help Arashi

Re: Puddle Jumping

Yasashi should have healed everyone up.

I'm not at full power, but I'm still doing alright.

As for the Sasumi, if not endangering our mission comes before all risk with Sasumi, I offer only a couple thoughts:

1) We wait here until the Buddha who moved us here, moves us back.  Mission accomplished.  Then decide if we wish to ask, again, to go back for Sasumi.  I will say that, while I'm well versed in pleading cases with the Buddha's, they had a vested interest in sending us here to rescue Kukai.  He is one of their own whom was brought here against his will.  I'm uncertain what the witches desire to get Sasumi is so I do not know how difficult it will be to convince one to send us back.

2) Invoke a Buddha right now to send Kukai, and any we feel need to protect him to get him back to the monastery, back.  This should be easy to convince.  Then, we left behind, attempt to rescue Sasumi.  We'd only have about a day to do this, since the first spell sending us here will draw us back to our plane whether we're ready or not.  While this would likely require Invoking Buddha to help with Sasumi, at least Kukai would be gone and we'd have an avenue out even if we could not convince them.

3) Separate while here.  One team with Kukai, and one team to go get Sasumi.  This means the mission likely succeeds as the one team just abides until the spell is over, while the other team moves far enough away that Invoking with poor results does not affect Kukai's team.  The only difference between this and #2 is one less invocation of Buddha.

Takashi, time passes, so you'll be able to recover power after the normal 24 hours.

Re: Puddle Jumping

In reply to Yasashi (msg # 538):

Hiro considers and then says, "OK just open streams of thought here. We only have about a day, so if any travel is required it is probably not feasible to succeed. The best reason to keep me here is to help move through this place. Based on the last combat myself an Ayare have no ranged attacks and thus are less effective.
So I make the case that me and Ayare stay with Kukai, we can find a good hiding place and wait out the time. The rest of the team can move off and attempt to summon Buddha and see if there is a reasonable way to rescue Sasumi.

Re: Puddle Jumping

In reply to Arashi Fukushu (msg # 540):

Are we sure you will not be traveling to rescue Sasumi?  If we need to travel to get to Sasumi then they would need Hiro's help.

If we are going to separate I like the idea of getting Kukai out of this place.  If we are out of hell then I'm far more effective and could defend him much better out of this place.

OOC:  What kind of shape is Hiro and Totsu in?  Did Yasahi heal us?

Let me repharse the question.  How far do they have to travel?  If they have to travel a couple minutes or hours they will probably need Hiro's help to get them there safely and back.

If so I say we try to gain information after we complete this mission and then come back at full strength with a better idea of what to expect.
