This site has everything you need to know about Pathfinder rules, classes, races, everything. All Paizo-official classes and races are allowed (i.e. anything not 3rd party). I also highly recommend searching Google for guides for whichever class interests you. There are likely to be several good guides that can help you build an efficient character, including suggestions for attributes, race, archetypes, skills, feats, etc.

House Rule #1: No Feat Tax

Use these modified rules for Feats. Near the end of the document is a list of changes from standard PF rules. This should make certain Feat chains more accessible. For example, Weapon Finesse and Combat Expertise are no longer Feats but rather combat options available to everyone.

House Rule #2: Background Skills

This changes how skill ranks are spent on certain skills that don’t come up as often as others. This should free up ranks for more important things.
