Re: The Gaming Table (OOC)
November-December is the reaping time on RPOL.  A sizable percentage of games running at the start of November won't be running by the middle of January.  Between holidays and all of that, they just die.

GM, if you're going to be busy, that's fine with me.  Just let us know when your schedule clears up.  The biggest thing I've personally found is making sure you communicate what's going on as best you can so that everyone knows what to expect :)

Re: The Gaming Table (OOC)
I had assumed that as sewers large enough to walk in these were really a lot more like storm drains, thus having access grates and or manhole like things fairly regularly, which should be enough for low light vision to function.  If it gets really very dark and nobody else has alight source we should know that, so we can activate our backup plans.

Re: The Gaming Table (OOC)
A single light cantrip should be enough for everyone with low light vision, and at least 2 people who don't mind standing next to each other without it to function properly.

Whoops?  On the other hand, I'm not entirely sure what we've determined to be going on, if anything.

Rajet, tell me we just didn't happen to make characters with the same basic personality?

Welp Pooka, that's certainly a verb. XD At work. Will respond when I'm home.

Re: The Gaming Table (OOC)
Personally, I could do with you toning down the asshole IC a little.  It's getting to the point where I have to justify why the goblin doesn't just run off.

In reply to Pooka (msg # 74):

Is it a plural you, or a singular you? And whom is it directed to? n_n

Re: The Gaming Table (OOC)
Just be glad the goblin has enough limbs yet to even attempt running off, that kind of high risk starting point is never going to be an easy IC integration.

... specifically at Rajet.  I'm telling you, OOC to OOC that it's a bit much.  Please cool it a little.

Re: The Gaming Table (OOC)
Okay guys, I didn't feel out well enough what people wanted out of the game. I thought it would've been fun for Pooka to play prisoner-guide for the start till the crew warmed to her. If everyone is happy to do a little 'hand waving' we can suspend the situation somewhat and consider Pooka on a more equal, egalitarian footing with the rest of the party. Should be a simple feat of suspension.

I am enjoying the other robust female leads. And their bants, keep it up.

Re: The Gaming Table (OOC)
No reason it cant be fun to have a prisoner guide, but that also shouldn't be either easy or light-hearted.  There should be a little bit of friction that helps define a reason why this particular goblin earns its way into not being treated like the rest of them.  Without earning it there won't be a way to make it make sense in the story.

Re: The Gaming Table (OOC)
*shrug* Pooka ain't digging it. This game is more a vehicle to explore the new rules rather than collaboratively writing the next classic Russian novel.

Re: The Gaming Table (OOC)
There's a difference between a little friction and what's been the norm so far.  That's not friction, that's barely restrained hostility.

I'm telling you that it's difficult for me to find a reason why Pooka wouldn't just run away and leave you to the dungeon yourself.  Which is probably not a good place for things.

Re: The Gaming Table (OOC)
The reason would be to not die. Rajet and Bianca would've killed Pooka if she bolted (she's just a goblin, #greenlivesmatter). Even with that the party is a hell of a lot nicer than the Mudchewer alternative.

But that's off the table now. No PvP now, guys. Thanks. Embrace the dungeon crawl.

Re: The Gaming Table (OOC)
Indeed, the general avoidance of PVP on RPOL is why we haven't already got two halves of a goblin.  Between the initial description post of the basement and Pooka's first IC post I already had a scream and leap style combat post prepared, only didn't use it because I noticed Pooka posting as a PC rather than the nameless goblin indicated by the house owner.

I ran into a very deep creative rut. I'll be back after the holidays in force.
