(IC) Its a Boat Again! Run!

"Yet it seems like you dislike me yet you tell me its nice to meet a guardian. Very well. I bid you good tidings and I will not disturb you further." The druid bows to them slightly and turns to leave. The wolf looks at them, tilting its head and turns to follow.

"Bye" Zhera narrowed her eyes once the druid was away. "Yet his trusted companion kept warning us to stay away. Was more like he was telling the demon and friends to stay away." She huffed. But it looked like a well practiced move ending up looking tired at the end. "Lets just forget about it. I will go back to my job before something else happens. Just dont let it get to you." She wished to help deal with his words, but she flet ashamed she didnt knew what to say.

As he is leaving, the druid stops "My friend, not trusted companion has nothing against you nor do I. It seems you are against me for no reason. I suggest you realize not everyone views you as a enemy. Some view you as a friend." He glances back, watching the two of them before leaving the area. Hard to tell if he left earshot but he doesn't seem to be within view.

Faolan:
As he is leaving, the druid stops "My friend, not trusted companion has nothing against you nor do I. It seems you are against me for no reason. I suggest you realize not everyone views you as a enemy. Some view you as a friend." He glances back, watching the two of them before leaving the area. Hard to tell if he left earshot but he doesn't seem to be within view.

Before the druid is clearly out of earshot a slightly annoyed looking Cumarinda says calmly, "I suppose that could have gone better. By Pelor's smile, I should have recalled the lesson I learned from my beloved barbarian! Those who tie themselves to nature are often impatient with those of us who consider ourselves civilized." Her smile returns and she embraces Zhera in a sisterly hug. "Thank you for trying to help me, Zhera. Perhaps given time our friend Faolan will recall that there are wolf-like beings that are simply Evil and that, without the warming and healing light of the Sunfather, no matter what name one may choose to call him, all life in this world would die in darkness and misery.

She pauses, taking a deep breath before speaking in a hopeful voice, "But let us all remember that we need to work towards our common interests on board this ship. I have convinced that captain to let me make tonight's dinner, which will be a tasty stew fit for man, woman or beast!"

Re: (IC) Its a Boat Again! Run!

THe druid turns and watches the cleric "Impatient? I saved you but I am impatient? Simply I saved you without even realizing your friend was going to be rude. I have nothing against civilized people if that is what you call yourselves. Your dawnfather needs a lesson, one I cannot teach him for life needs all gods to exist not just him. He seems to be full of himself." He probably caused another bit of rudeness from the cleric but he doesn't seem to care. Or perhaps he is doing it on purpose "Most gods view them as the best and others not worth bothering. That is indeed wrong. For life to continues, all gods need to exist not just Pelor. Stating all wolf-like creatures are evil is wrong. Very wrong but you views them as such as you seemed to be in their area and they attacked. If someone entered my home and I did not know them, I would feel threatened as you would as well. Zhera did nothing to aid you-I saved you bother. Perhaps you should have learned more from him then you realized. Instead of believing what he was and his beliefs are not what you believe. Everyone can learn from one another." His eyes lower "Forgive me if I come across as being rash. You come to her aid and that I respect. But you are pained. My apologize." He nods his head to both of them before he departs elsewhere.

Soon darkness falls and the Captain issues some inside for some stew and water. Its not much but its a decent meal. The druid and wolf are not present. He sits down next to the cleric and rogue "Seems like hiring you on was a good call. Shipping area is well maintained and the shipmates seem to be healthy." He smiles at both of them as two shipmates begin to sing a pleasent song.

Re: (IC) Its a Boat Again! Run!

The rogue returned the hug in an awkward manner clearly not used to that contact. She was just getting used to it when the druid spoke again. Being judged wasn't new to her, it was almost comforting. However once the druid finished speaking something seemed painfully obvious to her, it sounded almost like the small children at the orphanage. So much 'Me'. That helped sooth the words. She might be young, but she wasn't going to let a six years old in an adult body get to her.
.
.
.

It was different. Taking a look at the ingredients confirmed they where the same from other food she had eaten. It was no exaggeration she was a good chef. The appearance of the captain interrupted her. The compliment was nice, but not trusting if she let go a few scathing words she kept her reply short. "Thank you. The area is well organized."

In reply to Dungeon Master (msg # 17):

Cumarinda analyzed the course of the conversation between the two women and the druid. She mentally came to the conclusion that exchanging more words with Faolan at the moment would be counterproductive. So, she silently watched as he and his wolf walked away. Her heart pained for a moment as she again mourned the passage of Fenris before turning her thoughts and deeds towards her other shipboard companions, her duties, and that evening's meal.

*****

Being joined for dinner by the Captain and his simple compliments, encouraged a slight blush of pleasure, as she was already clearly enjoying the satisfied looks of the crew while they ate her stew. "Thank you Captain, I'm always happy to bring joy to those around me. As our elders teach, 'A man who is fed, has water, and warmth is better able to feel the goodness and light all around him.'"

To Zhara she says, "I look forward to meeting new people and spreading the nurturing power of the Sun Father when we land."

"I know most who come on this here ship so need some information, I can probably provide it. Now then, eat up and drink up. Get some good nights rest. Been getting a bit rocky, don't want you to get sick and all. Not good when yer got a healer and they are sick." The Captain raises his mug up "Cheers. An' best not be sprouting them words. Not everyone will want tah follow yer god you know. Some might not be too pleased even if he's a good god is all. Long as gods don't mess with me I won't mess with them!" He chuckles.

After some times passes the songs get more vibrant and more people start getting tipsy. The captain is able to get most of the crew to settle down, and motions for people to swap with the main deck to keep the ship running. Soon the dinner is over and people are back to work but its getting late.

In reply to Dungeon Master (msg # 20):

Cumarinda will merrily eat, drink, sing and dance alongside her shipboard companions, even telling a slightly off-color joke or two. More than once or twice the priestess will check on Zhara to make sure the rogue is having a good time too. While not getting more than pleasantly giggly herself, she will make an effort to look after everyone who seems to need it.

She will ask one of the available people to take bowls of food to Faolen and his companion.

Before the Captain turns in for the evening, Cumarinda will approach him and ask to speak with him privately.

Re: (IC) Its a Boat Again! Run!

Some of the shipmates seem to be concerned about the cleric and her antics but no one pushes her along. They do it of course but some who believe seem to be slightly put off but everyone seems to be enjoying the time. Two shipmates watch the cleric dance around and grin but they depart but with the amount of people its hard to say where they went. Probably above decks or below decks. One of the shipmates seem hesitant about bringing Faolan food as well as his wolf but they decided on it anyways and hurry off.

Once everything dies down and the room is empty save for two cooks adjusting the area and cleaning it up, Zhera is roaming around as Cumandria is able to talk to the captain in private as he goes into his room. It has two candlies lit up as well as a table and two charis as well as a sleeping area. The captain sits down, watching the cleric and pulls out a bottle of unknown liquid and pours himself some and offers some to the cleric "Bit late of course but what do you need? Got maps tah check out an' I need me sleep." He leans back and seems to be in okay spirits.

The ship was big. That in consideration of all the people a cargo it was loaded with. Thas why it was easy to roam around. One of the first things she does when she is in some place; find the good places to be used for an ambush, be it against her or for her. Her night vision being good enough to do that made her an excellent guardian. Lucky for her she doesn't have the need to stay awake most of the night.... like in that cave.

Curmarinda politely waves off the offer of the drink. With an expression of smiling curiosity, she asks, "Captain are there any special dangers we may meet on the way to Stormreach? Also, once there, are there any people or places we should avoid or are there people or places we should visit? I have appreciated all the advice you've blessed me with aboard your ship, is there further knowledge you'd care to share?"

Re: (IC) Its a Boat Again! Run!

Soon it is getting late as the tiefling checks out some nooks and crannies to sit if people wander by. But sleep has befallen her and she darts off into the bowels of the ship to a small area place inside for the cleric and rogue to sleep. Ballast waits for the cleric, nodding his head as he fiddles with a piece of wood. Faolan doesn't come down to sleep.

In the captains quarters, the captain leans back "I stick with the ship mainly but I know there's a temple of Pelor somewhere within as well as other temples. And a marketplace. Some shops are pretty close to where you will be left off. And there be a tavern within a armsreach of course where some of my sailors go. You be best to find someone who knows the area, I am afraid. There be slums along the outskirts of course."

Cumarinda nods and smiles while maintaining eye contact, "Thank you, Sir." After a moment of thought, she asked, "So your crew might know more than you do, since as a responsible captain you spend more time aboard ship. Is there anyone aboard who might be more experienced in the ways and places of my destination than the others? Or should I speak with your first officer when he's not busy?"

The creaking of wood, the swing of the hammock, for many those were nuisances. Something to keep  you from sleep. For sailors where an every night thing, something to get used to for the job. For Zhera it was a welcome friend, because from her own experiences it was the quiet one has to get used to; The things that find you on the dark, as quieter than a cat can kill you any time. So once she felt safe she proceeded to lay down and sleep.

Re: (IC) Its a Boat Again! Run!

"So in a strange way you insulted me and act like I do not leave the ship because I know of little of Stormreach am I correct? Yes I spend most of the time on the ship but it seems you have it figured I know nothing of what goes on? Trust me I know a lot but not a master of what you are seeking. Nor do I know why you seem intent on believing you are better then myself from your tone. I have noticed something by watching you and by the other shipmates whom I talked to on a regular basis. Unless someone believe what you believe, you act like you are better then they are. You are indeed very misunderstood. Not everyone will back what you believe and you need to understand that. You are young and naive." The captain seems straight forwards and leans on the table, sipping his wine "My first mate knows as much as I do. I suggest you find a inn or someone within the city that can show you where to go. Like I mentioned there was a inn near where I take the ship, as well as slums and several other areas that I have not ventured to but alas I already mention it. Most on this ship stay on the ship or go to a nearbye tavern. I already stated this but apparently you seem to want it repeated. I do not mind you coming here and asking for conversation but when I must repeated it because you choose to not accept it, that is definatly bothersome. Like I stated, very few go onto the shore. We are sailors." He seems to be getting a bit more aggrivated as if the cleric doesn't seem to want to listen "And stating my crew knows more then I is uncalled for. They do their job because I know the seas. Honestly, I think your time within my cabin has expired. When we arrive at Stormreach, you will be paid as well as the Tiefling for your services." He stands up, opening the door "I bid you good night."

Oddly, the wolf lies nearbye, flat to the ground with closed eyes. Its a strange sight and there is no one around within eyeshot. After a moment, its eyes open and the wolf stands up. For a moment, the wolves eyes watch the cleric before it moves over to the upperdeck and dissapears above.

Elsewhere:
Ballest tells the tiefling he will stay up and needs little sleep so she may sleep as well if she wishes. Once she lies down and falls asleep, the warforged takes a blanket and draps it over her.

Cumarinda's eyes widen in shock, her mouth gaping open in surprise. With an expression of apology, and deep remorse she stares at the captain. When he stands and opens the door, she quickly goes down to one knee, bowing as she replies with tearful sincerity, “I...I...I” she stuttered before being able to continue, “Please, Captain, I offer my apology. I did not and do not intend to offend or insult either yourself or any of your crew. Please believe that only in service to others and to my God, do I find value in myself. No matter how it might seem, I do understand that all good people are deserving of respect.” While slowly standing she adds, “Please keep half of what I might have earned aboard your ship for my transgressions. Also know that I will take your words to heart and pray for greater humility and understanding. In the future I will keep council with myself and my ally while continuing to perform my assigned duties.” She pauses at the door to bow to the captain and speak one last time before leaving, “Please forgive me for my failures towards yourself and your crew, I promise that I will behave better. Also, I thank you and bless you for telling me of my shortcomings. Good night!” As her last words end she quickly leaves the captain's cabin and all but runs to her sleeping place.

"Then show them respect and not have them turn to your god. Its their choice, not yours. I do appreciate your apology and I mean no disrepect but trying to get the other crew to go to you when they have other things to tend to does not aid anyone. And no, you will get the full amount as you have earned it. Taking away what you deserve makes me little them any beast we may come across. Not all on this ship want a woman tending to their wounds and some have not seen one in quite awhile and I do not wish for anyone to be harmed. And if I made any slight attempt at any unhospility, that was not my goal. I bid you good night." And the door is shut and the cleric can easily make her way to her allies.

Ballest turns as the cleric approaches "We need to talk. I will not go with you when we reach Stormhaven. It is nothing you have done but being upon this ship would be good for me my friend."

Cumarinda looks into his eyes, her own filled with compassion and understanding. With a sad smile she nods, "My warforged friend, I noticed that you seemed much more comfortable aboard this ship than you did in the village. And I do remember you telling me about the ship you served on before coming to the island."

She took a deep breath and after letting it out she went on speaking, joy and warmth returning to her smile and her voice, "I am happy for you. I will miss having you by my side when trouble raises its ugly head and those times when watching you carve things was interesting and calming. I will remember you whenever I see ships sailing or see an expertly shaped piece of wood. Ballast be blessed in the Light of the Sun and in the depths of the night."

When he turns to leave, the wolf starts to approach. It sits down watching the cleric and rogue.

Being a light sleeper she wasn't THAT startled by the awakening. It was fine by her, but the gift. That gave her pause as she looked at the weapon the sentient golem gave her. The discovery he had even placed a blanket on her was even more devastating to her. So much that it took her a moment to get up. "I..I... Listen." She started strong and with a frown on her face, only to get more flustered as she pinched her side. Frustration on her face. She took a breath and started again. "Thank you... I will take care of it."

After receiving the cloak and saying her last goodbyes to Ballast, Cumarinda turns around to walk away and comes eye to eye with Faolan's large white wolf comrade.

With a friendly close-mouthed smile, she cheerily spoke. "Hello there! Just so we're clear, while Faolan and I may not get along, I'd really like to get along with you. I guess mostly because of how you remind me of my Fenris. I do appreciate your keeping an eye on me and I hope that we can become friends."

The warforged leaves, glancing at the large wolf. Tilting his head, the beast stares at the rogue and cleric. Its hard to tell if it understands but doesn't get closer. For a long moment, the wolf stares at the cleric. Its a big wolf-larger then most and probably haven't seen one of its size-at least 8' long and comparies to a average person its head meets with theirs evenly. Its tilts its massive head again and turns to go up to the deck but stops and sits down near it. When some of the workers head down it they stop. It growls up at them and they back off up to the deck.

Cumarinda will carefully approach the huge white wolf, making sure that she's making enough noise so that it can hear her coming. Walking to its front, she looks into its face and says quietly, "Ah, my wolfie friend?" she addresses the wolf as she begins to make her way up the stairs towards the deck, "Why don't you join me on deck for some fresh sea air?" She looks directly into its eyes and smiles happily, making certain to not show any teeth. Slowly standing, she gestures to the wolf, inviting it to join her on deck. If it moves in any way towards following her, she will advise the crewmen to get out of their way  until they pass and the way below deck is clear.
