The barbarian follows, watching the cleric and paladin. Forge felt something holding the door but he gives it a good push. As the paladin gets it open, there is blood on the floor. Recent it seems. Against the door is a dead man. His eyes are open wide as if staring at something above. The corridor is about 30' and stops at another closed door. There doesn't seem to be any river or water here. And the walls seem to be the same as everywhere else but they seem damp and dirty-typical for a sewer. The man looks to be unarmed and at quick glance doesn't seem to have anything. Fenris grips his sword waiting for Forge.

Forge arms himself looking for any threats....

"I believe this man is beyond our aid, and I cannot say what may have wounded him so that he bled to death."

He nods to the cleric to allow her to examine the body.

Without touching him, Cumarinda is going to examine him to determine the cause of death. She warns before she begins her examination, "Everyone should keep their eyes and ears open for foes that may be lingering on the walls like the one we saw before."

While briefly examining the body, she pauses to take a good look around for anything unusual or that might be moving towards them.

The man looks litterally drained of life. Almost like it was sucked from him. No blood. Nothing. Fenris looks around, guarding the cleric. No one saw anything. Just a simple room leading to a door ahead of them and the door they came through. Its eerily quiet.

Forge continues moving forward to the other door to see what is on the other side, while the body is being inspected.

"Any clue to thie man's death?"

"It seems that something drained the life from him. However, it was likely some form of undead or something similar, since there are no signs of violence done to his body." Cumarinda said softy.
She frowned and the two orbs of light near her grew brighter, shedding light in a 60' radius.
She looked to Fenris and then to Forge, "I've always abhorred those creatures that are so evil and dark that daylight causes them harm. But we should keep moving forward."

Still not saying a word-Fenris goes towards the closed door. He glances around and readies himself to open it, motioning for the paladin and cleric to follow. He takes a deep breath. The barbarian grips his sword double-handed and grunts. Apparently he doesn't care what did it-he can probably kill it. Again.

Forge stands close to the barbarian and nods his head to go ahead and open the door.

"Ready."

Cumarinda steps close to Forge while saying a small spell and casting Guidence upon him. When her prayer is over, she replies "Ready!"

As Fenris opens the door nodding to the others, the room is about 60' x 60' with a 10' river running down the center. Across from it there seems to be more bodies-at least six of them. There's a 5' wide bridge going to it. Fenris grips his blade. Something from near the bodies.....

It watches the group and waits.

"A dark shadow of bone and red eyes....and more of the drained dead!"

Cumarinda steps into the room behind the others, looking over the room. When she spies the horrible looking creature she readies herself and tries to recall what it could be.

Cumarinda almost growls under her breath when she comes to an understanding of what the creature facing them might be. "That would seem to be a Wraith of some kind. A foul undead which can only be touched by magic. When they touch you, they steal your life until you die, becoming one of them. But most of them know some reason. Maybe this one does. Do you, Wraith?"

The barbarian charges at the wraith after he rages! He swings his curved sword trying to hit its mark! But despite such a high intensity, it misses!

Forge goes forward a bit towards the shade, he readies to smite the creature and destroy it sooner rather than later....

A brief moment ago he and the barbarian were shoulder to shoulder and then the man ran headling into it at a charge....he had not expected that tactic...

"Avaunt shade! You have killed enough people.  Fenris I cannot watch your flank from so far away."

The cleric casts her spells and it flies towards the wraith but as it gets close, the creature shifts and it misses!

The paladin prepares to strike as it moves closer.

Fenris grips his blade and swings at the wraith! Three strikes against it and the wraith seems to shift and disperse as the barbarian seems to have killed it. It grunts, lowering the weapona and still seems to be full of unatural rage before calming down as he sees the cleric unharmed.

Well that's a dead wraith.

The warforged and human are unable to find anything besides the dead bodies. It seems most were stripped when they take a look. Fenris sits down, grumbling and glances over at his wife and paladin. His eyes narrow and he slowly stands up going towards the wall in the center of the bodies. He kneels down and pulls up a grate from under one of the bodies. Reaching down he pulls out two backpacks. Perhaps this is where the wraith hid them. Or had help with it not being of this plane. Hard to tell. Hard to tell if there was anything else down there.

Forge takes a look at the two bags, hoping that one  of them   is perhaps the workman's bag.....

"We need to get the bodies up to the town and report the manner of death and the defeat of the wraith."

Cumarinda nodded while looking over the bags. She turned to Fenris, "Thank you for finding them beloved!" She looked curiously at both bags. Looking at both Forge and Fenris she asks, "Did the workmen mention having two bags?" She paused for a moment then stepped back at a little from both bags while speaking.
"Forge, carefully open both bags, one at at time. Check to see if you can view the contents inside before searching with your hand. Fenris, be ready, beloved, in case one or both these bags are trapped."

"Of course.'

Forge sets to opening first one bag and then the other, assuming the first bag turns out to be nothing of importance...
The odd bag holds....odds and ends.

 "A ladies bag it would seem, look a Mirror, comb, and yet another smaller bag within...."

The other bag sets on the ground and does look workman like.

The barbarian spits at the ground. He sheathes his blade and crosses his arms, watching and waiting. Fenris gets his composure back to a degree.

Cumarinda looks curiously at the bag within a bag and casts Detect Magic on the larger bag that holds the 'ladies bag' within. "Don't you think its strange that a workman would have a bag with such specific items inside?" she said suspiciously.

Forge then picks up the other bag after passing the one to the cleric, he is pretty sure this beat up bag in his hands is the workman's...

"This one has to be the one we are looking for."

Just to clarify there is a workman bag and the lady bag.  I have the workman bag and the cleric has the nicer one.
