Re: (OOC) Chat Area Part 2: Welcome

I was sure it tasted like gator….

So most likely my spell to have on hand will always be
Rhino's Rush

(Spell Compendium, p. 176)

Transmutation
Level: Paladin 1, Ranger 1, Wrath (SpC) 1,
Components: V, S,
Casting Time: 1 swift action
Range: Personal
Target: You
Duration: 1 round

A violent fury consumes you. You seek nothing more than to charge at your enemies and bash in their heads.
This spell allows you to propel yourself in a single deadly charge. The first charge attack you make before the end of the round deals double damage on a successful hit.

Re: (OOC) Chat Area Part 2: Welcome

Divine Sacrifice
(Book of Exalted Deeds)

Necromancy
Level: Champion of Gwynharwyf 1, Paladin 1,
Components: V, S,
Casting Time: 1 standard action
Range: Personal
Target: You
Duration: 1 round/level or until discharged

You can sacrifice life force to increase the damage you deal.
When you cast the spell, you can sacrifice up to 10 of your hit points.
For every 2 hp you sacrifice, on your next successful attack you deal +1d6 damage, to a maximum of +5d6 on that attack.
Your ability to deal this extra damage ends when you successfully attack or when the spell duration ends.
Sacrificed hit points count as normal lethal damage, even if you have the regeneration ability.

Re: (OOC) Chat Area Part 2: Welcome

Paladin get 1 Spell per day at level 7. Plus they gain a bonus spell per day if Wisdom is high enough. So 12 Wisdom that means you get 2 spells per day. It does state it specifically on your sheet BTW.

https://www.d20srd.org/srd/the....htm#abilityModifier

https://www.d20srd.org/srd/cla...11ec9477d7e631895f0f

Also you can't cast 2 spells in 1 turn. But you can cast Divine Sacrifice and on your next turn, the spell is still up (long as it wasn't used) so then you can cast Rhino's rush to charge them, doing double damage (if you hit) and then do the damage from Divine Sacrifice (its not double though)

I would like to point out, that I had said she would pet the wolf if the wolf let her. I would expect the wolf not letting her would be obvious prior to biting. But that might just be me.

Just like a cat, it lets you get close to it then rips into you to prove a point :) At least it didn't clamp on and throw you into the sea. You just met it and your trying to pet a dire wolf that's twice your size...

Re: (OOC) Chat Area Part 2: Welcome

Everything is twice my size. And canines are not cats. Canines have more social instincts and behave that way, even the not domesticated ones. Spcial creatures tend to give warnings more than solitary creatures. It's why dogs growl amd bark and only bite when cornered or captured as a general rule, yet cats, as solitary creatures, do as you mentioned and will suddenly bite or claw without warning. Lions and ligers excepted of course.

I have Fomo that I am missing out on the in game thread…

I do need suggestions for a good quite hobby for when everyone else is sleeping
Obviously crafting weapons is too loud….

Craft/Profession is a class skill if that helps…

Re: (OOC) Chat Area Part 2: Welcome

Craft and profession are always class skills, for everyone.

This gm has decreed that you need 8 hours "sleep" for recovering magic regardless of options that would normally reduce that, such as elves or rings of sustenance, so keep that in mind.

That said, pick something evocative of your character, something through which you can show who your character really is.

Anyone that needs to recover spells, yes you need 8 hours and not doing strenous activities. Elves still need 8 hours but only sleep 4 of them. Rings of sustenence doesn't effect it-it just makes it so you don't need food or water and only need 2 hours of sleep but the rest of the time if recovering spells you still need to rest and do non-strenous things like talking, relaxing, doing odds and ends, ect. It was a big debate about it but it just states you need less sleep, that's it. Its pretty good if your the scout of the group and need less time to sleep and as long as your not doing anything that provides strain its not bad a all. Warforged don't sleep which is good.

Could be a fisherman, painter, scuplting....

I thought you were going to do the craft (Weaponsmith) or Blacksmith and profession (Weaponsmoth) or blacksmith? You can take another craft skill but that does require ranks. Ballest who was here took up carpentry. Coin's a trapmaker and woodworker. Cumandria is a cook. Faolan is a stablehand. Zhera is a jeweler. And Fenris was a hunter/trapmaker.

Re: (OOC) Chat Area Part 2: Welcome

I did go craft weaponsmithing.... How many ranks does that free skill have?  (is it one per level)?

But I did want something quiet to do whilst others are sleeping....maybe basketweaving or something....painting would be fun, and it would make me want the marvelous pigments......

I know it will cost me a skill point at the least.....

This is the part where the other PCs want it to be doing everyone's laundry!!!!

Re: (OOC) Chat Area Part 2: Welcome

Craft and Profession when picked you get free ranks +3 (so max level and class skill). Not all Professions gain ranks in craft by the way.

Painting would be cool, show the soft side of a Warforged. Maybe paint stuff on your armor. Or could do craft (Tattoo). Got a character that has it, hasn't used it yet but fits his class.

Class Skill can get up to your level +3 so 10 ranks
Cross Class Skills are half your level so 5 ranks but cost twice as much.

So I'd say:
X Climb
C Craft (Weaponsmithing) 10 Ranks (DM)
C Diplomacy (I don't really like it-I've had players use it all the time but it takes time to use) but comes in handy when trying to buy thing, sometimes speaking to someone in a civil manner.ect
X Gather Information
C Handle Animal
C Heal
X Intimidate
X Jump
C Knowledge (Religion)
C Knowledge (Nobility)
C Profession (Weaponsmith) 10 Ranks (DM)
C Ride
C Sense Motive

Got 30 skill points.

Re: (OOC) Chat Area Part 2: Welcome

I know that skills are basically what I am still working on.....

Cooking and brewing I thought were odd choices since I do not eat...

I do like to think about things, but also want to get into the game!

I like the idea of painting the warforged version of tattoo (including painting myself!) it might be fun to change colors, paint on a holy symbol, paint myself camo for woodland adventures, paint myself as a statue and prank people etc..

(maybe runecarved is the warforged version of a tattoo).....just discovered this one....

Don't think that will work. Far as the temple knows, she's probably dead as the ship she was on was lost at sea (before Korthos mind you) so I doubt the Temple of Stormhaven would even had a clue she's in the city.

BUT it is possible you arrived in the docks Forge, possibly know Grog and stopped in to see him. You probably never met Cumandria (not everyone knows eachother).

Re: (OOC) Chat Area Part 2: Welcome

Well he's a barkeep. Its possible the two of you met up if you ever went to the docks. Perhaps if you want you could have given him a tattoo before on your freetime. Just because clerics and paladins belong to a order doesn't mean their entire lives revolve around it :) (pokes Cumandria) Or maybe your a fisherman so you go to the docks whenever you can to go fishing so you'd probably meet up with him then. Or perhaps you never met him, went to the docks exploring and went into the tavern. Tons of reasons why ou'd be at the docks. Maybe just watching people, perhaps learning from them.

Probably pick up extra money knocking barnacles off ships below the water line and underneath

Bar would be a good place to meet potential clients … barkeep would be great referral source
