Look Around...

...and you can see the flickering orange glow of a street blaze two blocks away. The Combat Zone --- the wail of sirens and the distant rattle of automatic weapons. The Battles, the blood. It's all you've got.

Look Down...

...and you can see the faint glow of a light tattoo on a dead arm. The Street --- killing just to stay alive and anything to get ahead. Puppets and psychos, friends as foes. You close your eyes and a message flashes across your new Kiroshii Optics....

...Look Out...


Night City, your home, ain't sweet. The days of being able to walk the streets at night without a concern have long since passed. The small of the acid rain always permeates the air and is a welcome relief from the smog off all the cars. Corporate center and Corporate Plaza is where it's at, but you live far away from that and it ain't as nice. The cops don't come visiting as often and at night they may  not visit at all... but at least it's not the combat zone.

Overrider will want to get a feel of what is about the area for the meeting.  He will walk though the area several times from different directions.  Not all at once but separated by some time.   Never stopping but just looking for decent vantage points.  He finally will find an unobtrusive spot to watch the area for a while.  He wants to find any cameras and where they are pointing.  If possible, he wants to find a way  go up on a neighboring building.  Fire escape. Access to a roof.  Something to give a different perspective.

Prodigy will follow him, however as she does so she will keep an eye out not only for the security of the building but from the vantage points that Overrider stops at she will assess the structure for other possible ways in and out that they could use themselves, or be used against them.

OOC: Some usual street bums and such move about the area, the Street Rat was the only person of immediate interest but you can give me some awareness/streetwise rolls. No obvious cameras working this area, though there are a few "working" terminals on the corners for people to pull the latest screamsheets, look up information or make a call.

Gargoyle joined Prodigy and Overrider on the scene shortly after their arrival.  His sledgehammer over one shoulder, he walked casually around the block much like a ganger prowling for trouble and opportunity.  During this casual stroll he kept his eyes open for other people being wary and watchful of the block the meet was supposed to occur within.

He also kept his eyes open for gang sign.  As he wasn't a regular to the area he didn't exactly know who's turf he could be encroaching on off the top of his head.

It was obvious to most that the Street Rat was definitely reporting your arrival to the area. The ground was slick from the recent rainfall, pools of oil mixed with water sat along the rutted streets. The warehouses themselves are all worn down and covered in graffiti.

As you stand on the corner debating among yourself what to do, the clouds open up and begin to pelt you with rain. A car turns onto the street heading towards you, it slow as it passes you a pair of Bozos sit within and they began to laugh as they roll by....

Each of the warehouses had their main entrances were trucks drove in and unload, along with a few side doors. The particular warehouse you were interested in, looked to have an additional level and some windows there, perhaps there was a set of fire escape stairs upon the far side. Likely at least some ladders for roof access to work on the old air circulation units... whether they were still intact was another matter...


The rain battered you as you walked away from the district, looking for the next network to call in a taxi and get a ride back to "safer" neighborhoods. At least other areas were home and you new the gangs there....

As you guys step into the taxi back to the Batallion another down pour of acid rain hits the pavement. You cram into the vehicle, slide the credstick and make your way back... The holographic sign of the Batallion comes into view as the taxi turns the corner, on the street a couple of boosters lean against a wall watching things, somewhat covered from the building's overhang..

A Phoenix slips out, he stays close to the vehicle, using it as cover, while he scans the area.  While he does not have a hand near any of his weapons, he remains alert and ready for an attack.

He rotates through his visual options:  low-lite and thermographic.  He also listens for anything that could be out of the ordinary.

“You got the plans, you call the shots.” Smooth said as he stepped next to Prodigy. He doubted that he would need to fast talk anyone at this point and while he could call down a nomad pack, a few boosters, and odds and ends other contacts if things went south, all of that would take time. The plan was to get in and get out, so that is what Smooth set his mind on. He checked his AMT 2000 and waited for the game to go down.

Salaryman crosses the street over to the nearest data term, pulling out their cable and jacking in to the data term to get a quick view of the area, finding nothing different then before.

Phoenix will note there is a couple people down the alley way to his left his thermographic along with the usual rats scurrying about. One of the folks begins to move away quickly outside the range of his thermographic. Within the warehouse they are approaching is a single hot form.

We've got two figures down the alley to my right, one moving out of visual range.  There are rats.  There is also one person inside the warehouse, Phoenix reports to the others.  It is possible the person now out of view is going to report our presence to someone, so we need to be on guard.

Prodigy walked to the door with a bit of pressure pulling it open, the scrapes of the door opening echo off the empty warehouse. Everyone slides into the building, their eyes scanning the empty interior. As everyone finally enters, an older overweight man steps out of the shadows, rumpled black leather armour and leggings, a militech crusher strapped to his right boot. His ugly face breaks into a dirty smile "Hey Chums, Johnny's the name." He's a bit slow on the walk over towards them.

Johnny nods to Salaryman a big smile across his face as he walks forward to everyone. He extends his hand in greeting to any of those that take it. "Worry not choombas. I got ya. Johnny's on the job and means everything is gonna be smooth and easy. I've been around a bit. I know what is what. That's why they picked me to lead this mission. I'm always on the ball." He looks anything but someone that could lead anything, a few years late, a few drugs and drinks too late, but he seems like a decent guy.

Looking over to Prodigy and nods his head. "Yeah I got a comms radio unit in my pack." He nods his head over to the corner where a small duffle bag is laying against the wall near where he stood before. "What of it? You mute?" His eyes continued to roam the others as he smiled.

Johnny looks to everyone and shrugs "Silent bunch you are. All about business. I like that in my team. Keep it short, keep it sweet." He turns and heads over to his duffle bag, pulls out an old comms unit, this thing must be antique, "What channnel?" he asks as he begins to place one piece in his ear, wrapping it around his ear and then attaching another piece just below his chin along his throat before plugging it into the radio box that he puts in his inner jacket pocket.

As Johnny continues to chatter with you guys, trying to get information about you and giving you little about the mission, telling you about how great he is, the splashing of approaching footsteps can be heard. It sounds as a single man is approaching at a run towards the building.

At the sound of someone splashing towards them at a dead run, Phoenix produces an Uzi Mini-Auto 9 smartgun from a quick-release holster under his jacket so quick and smooth that it almost seems to have teleported i to his hand.  Obvious proof the old corp has wired reflexes.  He turns towards the source of the sound, staring towards the darkness intently.

Using Low-Light as necessary.

The steps slow as the person reaches the door, you can hear them sort of composing themselves before they push open the door. Stepping into the room, a small man considerably under 2 meters in height steps through the doorway. This short man, pulls off his hat, shaking the rain away before he closes the door. He looks over his shoulder at Overrider and smiles  before looking to each of the others, his eyes pausing on Phoenix's uzi for a moment before he continues

"Good Evening gentlemen.. and ladies. I am so glad to see you all here. I also see that you have met Johnny. Good. Good indeed"

He seems pleased that those introductions were over. Prodigy will recognize that while the voice is similar it is not the same as the one on the phone. He unbuttons his old style raincoat. Obviously Japanese as he moves towards Overrider first, offering his hand in greeting.

Each receive a firm and vigorous handshake from the man. As he gets to Prodigy he just shakes his head "I do apologize but I do not have a radio communicator. You will have to have others talk on your behalf or write the words out." He moves onto the next person continuing his greetings.

As he finally reaches Johnny he places his arm around the older man "This is Johnny. Undoubtedly the best man alive for the task at hand. Isn't that right Johnny?"

Johnny offers a wide dirty smile in response to the Japanese man "Most definitely. Me and these Choomba's are getting along great. We can't wait to get this show on the row."

The Japanese mans smiles and nodding in agreement as he claps Johnny on the back as he turns to the others.

The Japanese looks over the note and smiles "As you have guessed, I am not the one who called you and this is only a meeting point. My employer waits not far from here. If you will all follow me..." With that he guides Johnny towards the entrance door with a slight push upon his back, gesturing in a polite fashion for Johnny to precede him.

Johnny lifting his head high, grinning at the others "Let's go meet the man, eh choombatas. Get the skinny on this deal and make some euro" Johnny with a wink steps out into the street ahead of Japanese man, taking a moment to allow his eyes to adjust to the new light as the rain belts down upon him, rolling off his shoulders.

In a single fluid motion the Japanese contact draws and fires. A single shot, to the back of the head and Johnny falls forward into a pool of rain and filth. The firearm spins in his hand as he releases his grip, only held up by a single finger within the trigger guard. "My apologies. Johnny was here on another matter and will not be joining us further."




OOC: At this point feel free to make Awareness/Notice check, Human Perception. And everyone needs to  make a Empathy Check for the close quarters assassination of Johnny Diff 10.

That caused Prodigy to stop and reach under her hoodie for her heavy pistol, though she did not draw it out, yet. Instead she would access the situation, what was going on, and possible escape routes.

The Uzi Mini-Auto appears in Phoenix's hand once again, his eyes focussed upon their potential employer for a moment.  When he does not attempt to fire upon them,he lowers the weapon, but keeps it near his side, as he scans for other possible threats.
That was not a good way to instill a feeling of trust in those to whom you are considering an offer of employment.

The Japanese man smiles at the others, turns and steps over the body of Johnny as he steps into the ever-pounding rain and onward towards the rendezvous proper. He did not even bother to look down at Johnny as his blood mixed with the pouring rain.

If you failed the Empathy Check you lose 4 pts of Humanity if your Empathy is 6 or higher. You lose half that (2 pts) if you humanity is 5 or lower as your are just a bit to cold to the rigors of the world.

As Phoenix waits for the others to file out after the corporate fixer, he seems to ponder the body of Johnny lying prostrate in the rain, what blood has leakex out from the wound being washed onto the concrete.  The shot seems to have been clean, with little opportunity to bleed from the suddenness of death.
As the last of the group leaves before him, he follows suit, without looking back at the carcass left behind.

The SalaryMan looked after the man, who apparently was not the one who had contacted them but an associate or underling of said man, as she made her way out of the warehouse.

She gave the body and the pool of blood a wide berth as she went so as not to get any on her polished black shoes.

Since it looked like they would be covering whatever distance was needed on foot, once outside she pulled out a collapsible umbrella of clear plastic from her bag and popped it open for the walk.

He seems stops and considers something off in the distance before he continues to the next street and turning down it.

As you round the corner you hear a pair of gun shots go off, a young neoafrican american crashes into Prodigy, slumping towards the ground in her arms. Beyond him you see 4 Red Chrome Legion boosters standing over a barely clothed late teen, early twenties, young Caucasian girl whose lifeless eyes stair your direction, her had twisted at an odd angle. Two boosters have their guns pulled out and pointed in your general direction, while a third seems to be wrapping up his leg... "Told you Snake she'd get ya." One spoke to another, the one bandaging up his leg "Flatlined that input for her troubles, to bad she seemed like fun." Another laughed as his gun smoked "got him, gave him a bit of running room...." the other laughed next to him.. The boosters look at your little group an odd sense of interest and loathing upon their eyes as they seem to be deciding what to do...

With Overrider now orienting his attention in the boosters direction, the Salaryman placed the hand not holding her umbrella in her own jacket pocket.

She, however, did not take any overt action.  Rather she turned towards the boosters and gave them a quick bow along with a hurried, if polite, "Shitsudeshimasu.", as she moved to follow their would be employer's man.

As she went the Salaryman also kept her eyes moving, looking for the closest bit of cover should the gangers decide against letting the strangers pass by.

The one the others called Snake reaches for his gun, drawing it and pointing it towards you. While the one with the smoking gun, grins a bit "Look at the Suits, Flatline em" as he takes aim and pulls the trigger the shot arcing wide as it misses everyone. The other laughing booster followed suit.

Overrider dropped Snake fast, the first hit striking him in the head, sent blood over everyone behind them. The second hit striking him in the leg as he fell to the ground. Not much was left of him. The trio of boosters looked down on snake and began to fire back. The first two seem to just miss Salaryman as he ducks behind cover, the shots ring through the night as they deflect off the dumpster. The third returns fire onto Overrider, his large handgun firing off two shots but the buck of the weapon means they barely miss.

The Salaryman heard the rounds contact the metal bin she'd hunkered down behind.

She wasn't much good in a gunfight but even an accountant raised in a combat zone knows how to use a gun even if it's only good for shooting targets that don't move and can't fire back.

Still, the Salaryman drew her gun and quickly and without much precision due to her haste, stuck just enough of herself from behind her dumpster to squeeze a shot off in the booster's direction.

ooc: 2 actions for this round, drawing a weapon and firing (-3 penalty).

With the Uzi in hand, Phoenix waits until other go.  It is the polite thing to do.  When he peeks around the dumpster to fire, he puts the targeting reticle upon the closest living booster and fires a three round burst.

Overrider's first shot hits the booster straight in the chest. He see him take a step from the impact but it did not seem to penetrate the armour they were wearing. The second shot to the leg draws blood but doesn't seem to slow the booster down as he takes aim back at Overrider. Phoenix's lets off a quick short burst at the closest Booster (#3) that strike the booster in the same leg that Overrider hit, seeing him stumble for a moment but he looks all the more determined to finish you. Prodigy in her rush to fire off a shot, pulls her gun and it goes off before she even got to aim it down towards the booster, striking Phoenix in the back of the head....

An anguished cry of terror escaped Prodigy, the girl who didn't or couldn't speak, suddenly just screamed out as the shot from her own heavy pistol landed into the back of Pheonix's head! Her hand's started to shake as she in that instant saw flashback's from that night several months ago flash before her eyes.

Then that's when it happened, the bullet hip her in her armored chest and snapped her back. She was still shaking, uncertain, but she realized she was in a life or death situation. She couldn't freeze up. Not now. She took aim at the ganger that just shot her, and shot at him.

The bullet hit the back of the old corp's head, tearing a strip of his scalp loose as the impact pushes his head forward and down.  Luckily for him, the coating on his bones prevents the bullet from penetrating his skull.
He turns to scan for gangers coming up behind them, blood slinging out in a bit of spray with the motion, but sees none and turns back to the three with whom they are already dealing.

Overrider's smooth combat experienced motions draw a line onto the booster with the big gun and with a single shot, blood sprays out the back of the man head, falling backwards the booster hits the ground. The rain pounding down, dispersing the running blow away. Salary man shoots another in his leg who grabs his leg in shock be falling to the ground a blithering idiot in pain. The remaining standing booster screams "Fuck this." and turns and runs down the street.

She instead turned her attention to where the potential client's rep had gotten off to during the short skirmish, and whether the man was still intact.

A very different girl from the one who a few days ago had herself blown the heads off a few scavs in a subway car. This was different though, she shot a companion in the head, sure he's not dead but still.

Overrider moves up to the bodies of the boosters, scanning the area with his low light option.  He will kneel and pick up the weapons of each booster and pocket them while still scanning.

We will need to get moving quick before the they either get backup or some other scavenger is attracted to the gunshots.  Someone check on Phoenix.

The Japanese man stood up from his kneeling position behind a burnt out vehicle and straightened his jacket as he waited for you guys to prepare yourself. If he had any opinion on your reactions he did not show it.


Overrider was able to find a couple of poor pistols and some basic combat knives upon the dead boosters. Even the one gun that packed more of a punch wouldn't be worth much on the street. But they're dead or dyeing. Accept the one guy who after a couple minutes of screaming in pain passed out, but is still breathing.

The Japanese man just regards you as police the bodies and end the boosters life. He stares at Phoenix, recognize the look of one who is still dazed and hurt. But shrugs his shoulders when no one seems to do anything about it. Once you're ready he will turn and continue upon his path.



OOC: Remember You're still injured Phoenix and it effects some of your stats. Prodigy there were no radio links nor cell phones. Likely couldn't afford a cell phone or just used  the local terms.

Actually, Muscle and Bone Lacing, Phoenix responds, his weapon reholstered after the ganger's throat had been crushed.  I'm fine.  I walked over here.  It hurts, but not enough to incapacitate me.  If someone has some super glue, it could be glued back in place.  Not much muscle tissue under the scalp, from what I understand.
His voice is flat, the voice of someone who does not much of his humanity left.

Prodigy was able to stabilize Phoenix's wound. He'd be walking around with some staples in his head and bandages visible for a few days at least until he was able to get to an actual Doc. The Japanese man clears his throat as he grows tired of waiting for you guys. He turns and begins to walk across the street and makes a couple quick turns as he leads you through various alleyways to another warehouse building.

Mister Japanese leads down a couple other turns and stops before another warehouse, warehouse 123. It really looks as the others do, run down and derelict. Old burnt out trashcans from some prior nights street urchin meeking out an existence sit near by. Mister Japanese stops at the door, turns look at everyone, then grabbing the door he opens it, standing to the side to allow everyone inside.

Once inside the first thing she would do is look around. Looking for any entrances, exits, escape path, other people, ambush points, and anything out of the ordinary that catches her eyes or cybernetic ears.

Those that make their way inside, find it this warehouse not much different then the previous warehouse. It looks to have it's most recent use by the various street urchins that make home for the night, the area is untidy. Dust and rubble lie strewn across the floor and the door that you entered through hangs badly. There are two exits to the room, one straight ahead barely visible and another to the left, the only light of the room is the distant glow of red LED banks to your right and left.

Overrider saw what pretty much everyone else had seen upon entry a room that looks to match the rest of the warehouses about aside from the glow red LED lights. The Japanse man moves to the red LED lights, sliding a small card into a slot on the wall. Bright light overwhelms everyone without flashbang cyberware a moment as the door to your left slides open.


Those with any knowledge of electronic security measures will be able to determine pretty readily that picking these doors would be near impossible and even less likely to force them open.

The room is barren besides a large mirror, you'd guess two way, that extended along the wall opposite the door you entered from. There are no other exits to this room. As the last of you step inside the door slides close. You are now in the room with Japanese man who stands at Rest near the door and large Mirror with your own reflections within it. The light buzz of the overhead lights can be heard, those with enhanced hearing will hear an ASD system kicks in, the white noise filling the room, beyond that only your own movements are heard.

A moment after the ASD system kicks in and the door seals shot you here a disembodied voice begin to speak, flat and featureless English Accent,

"Welcome, Ladies and Gentlemen... I hope that you are well. I am informed that you are persons of honor and of means. I hope that this is correct."

A pause for a moment before they continue,

"I have a need for companionship, and it would please me greatly to hear the conversation of a particular person who resides here.... his name Fargo Wells and I would like you to find him and bring him here to me. It is a task for which you will be paid of course. My Assistant has all the relevant information. Contact him when you have succeeded.

Your fee will reflect the level of your success... that is all.
"

From thw outside, the rain falling in a constant annoying drizzle around them, it looks like any of the other numerous, run-down shotgun houses.  Twelve feet wide and forty-eight feet long and set on what appears to be a cinderblock foundation, the exterior of the house looks dingy and gray, with dirt-covered, boarded-up windows and cracked and peeling paint made colorless by the rain.
Phoenix walks up the short steps to the covered porch, opening the cheap and dirty aluminum-and-plexiglass storm door so he can unlock the entry door.
When he steps aside to let the others in, the appearance changes dramatically.  Far from luxurious, the much cleaner interior if the house has a simple and understated elegance.  All the furnishings are old, but elegant and well-maintained, from the matching leather-upholstered sofa-sleeper and two recliners, end tables, coffee table, and table lamps in the livingroom, to the china in the glass-doored cabinets, silverware, cookware, even the three bar stools at the island.  The drapes covering the boarded windows are thick and velvetty, blocking whatever light might leak out.  Anyone looking in the bedrooms would see similar with the beds, bedclothes,and furnishings, each containing a dresser, and a small desk and desk chair, while the master, at the back of the house, also includes a recliner similar to those in the livingroom.  The bathrooms, both household and en suite are simple, utilitarian affairs.
Make yourselves comfortable.  I don't generally have guests, so I don't have much to offer to eat or drink.

It looks like the four-room renovated version inside without the side entrance.

Once inside the house proper she looked over what was visible from the main room appreciatively.  The exterior facade did a good job of concealing what a tidy, well put together space Phoenix had.

As she moved to take a seat she gave him a deep nod of acknowledgement and stated, "Please do not trouble yourself." in regards to his apology over refreshments.

"Fookin' great." Jonno hung up the phone and wandered into the kitchen area in his tiny apartment, opening the fridge to find he was down to his last beer. He took the beer and went back to the living area, sitting on the edge of his sofa-bed and taking a business card off the side table. He'd had the foresight to pay up his rent and bills in advance, but pretty soon he'd be hunting rats for dinner.
Well, as long as I don't get caught.
He took out his cellphone and dialled the number. After a couple of rings it went to voicemail. Jonno too a deep breath.
"Hullo, this is Officer Johansen, we met breifly last month in Rancho Coranado and you gave me your card in case I was ever looking for work. Well, I'm looking. Call me back on this number anytime if you have anything."
He hung up and contemplated his last beer, wondering what rat actually tasted like.

Lady Koi was counting out the last of her euros, sitting on her futon on the floor in the spartan studio she called home, when the voicemail notification caught her eye.  She played the message back with a short intake when she recognized the voice.  Deadman rises again? In need of medical knowledge?  Well that obviously wasn't her, but perhaps she could find someone.  There is no indication of the urgency.  Sitting in seiza she tapped out a quick message, reading English better than she could speak it.


She thinks about it for a few minutes before calling Rip and leaving a voicemail, assuming he is on the road and unable to pick up.  "Atashi; are you busy?  I need a ride into the combat zone, could be some work, won't know til I get there.  Call me back? Domo."  While she is leaving the message the notification for another call coming in interrupts.  Checking the voicemail, she calls Johansen back.

"Hello Officer?  I hope I am not in trouble." she says a little playfully to the voicemail.  "Send me a text message, I may have something and will know more soon."

Text to Phoenix:  "On foot if it must.  Key word?  Will be waiting.  Mata ne."

Packing her weapons and other essentials, she settles in to wait.



"Key word" refers to the passcode her escort will use to confirm identity.  she is assuming she doesn't know him.

Jonno steps out of his shower and is towelling off his close cropped hair when he notices the missed call light on his cellphone, and is releived to see a voicemail has been left.

Lady Koi:
"Hello Officer?  I hope I am not in trouble." she says a little playfully to the voicemail.  "Send me a text message, I may have something and will know more soon."


Hi LadyKoi he texts Sorry I missed call was in shower. He pauses, thinking. He doesnt want to appear too desperate, especially not when he might be negotiating pay, but on the other hand if he  pretends he isnt free and desperate and she needs someone right now, he might miss the job.
Def free today and tomorrow, nowt nothing too important rest of week + can v prob make time for u if u need. he finishes the text and hits send.

She was standing in the door of her studio when the text came in from Jonno.  Heading down to the building foyer where she had a clear view of the street, she first sends another text to Phoenix.  Text: "How much help do you need on this one?  I can swing a few extra.  Pay?"  Then she dials Jonno while she waits, leaning against the wall, not blocking the entrance but with a clear line of sight.

The call doesn't take long.
"I'll make my way uptown then. Call us when you've got an address. Ta-ra."
Jonno hangs up and pockets his phone.
He grabs his cheap rucksack from and throws in the spare ammo for his rifle and after a moments thought, he fills a bottle with water from the filter tap and adds it along with his old inflatable mattress and sleeping bag. Adjusting his rifle on its sling to hang under his right arm and be mostly concealed by his armour jacket, he puts his knife in an external pocket and leaves his apartment.
It's not far to the NCART terminal and within minutes he's an a monorail train heading North.

The drive towards Lake Park became progressively easier the closer the young Nomad got to his destination. The distant gunshots faded into silence, and the glow of the various fires began to blend with the general haze that clung above Night City. The little tarp hovels, the broken glass, the sour reek of urine and alcohol all became less frequent.

But the closer he got, the more Rip also became more conspicuous. He stood out, there was no way to avoid it, with the dirt bike, the armor and the patch. It was not that he looked anymore dangerous, just out of place, a curiosity. Not too many Nomads in the Urban zones, and even fewer Jodes.

He did not need directions, he had been there before, and he pulled right up outside the older apartment building, lowered the kickstand and dismounted.

As he approached the lobby he pulled off his helmet and cradled in under one arm, a small, wry smile on his features.

Lady Koi watched the all-too familiar motorcycle pull up in front of her building and opened the door as Rip reached the top step.  "Hello Rip.  Did you get my message or ... ?" she let's it trail off, leaning back and letting the jacket hang open to show off her outfit.  The messenger bag with her other gear was hanging from her shoulder.

"Miss Koi" Rip replied in a familiar way, as if there was just a very faint hint of bemusement about meeting in a professional capacity. "No, no that one was a burner. Just enough to set up my biz. Not much use for a cell where I come from. I'm up on a comm channel though if you have one." he replied conversationally as he admired her outfit then glanced at a clock in the lobby.

"You all set? It's gonna take a while to get clear of the city lights, but I think we can still catch the meteor shower if we can beat the traffic" he added with a slight jerk of his head.

She raised her eyebrows, the only indication that she was not expecting him to be sent by Phoenix, then nods saying simply "Uhn, ikou?*" then slings over the messenger bag and steps out into the evening air.  He can now see she is wearing sensible flats for walking, presumably the ubiquitous heels are in the bag.  Looking at the bike, she asks, "riding or walking?"



"yes, shall we go?" in casual Japanese.

"I'd love you give you a ride, but there's no way both of us would fit on my bike" he replied with a hint of shame, obviously wanting to be able to help.

"But I can walk it with you, if that would be any help." There was some safety in numbers, after all.

She favors him with a smile as she summons a cab from her phone.  When it arrives she gives the cabbie the address and then hops in, changing her shoes in the cab to match her style and outfit.  She also sends Phoenix another message.

Text: "Several skilled people have asked if I have work for them, how many do you need for this job and how far will the pay go?"

While the distance was short by Rips reckoning, it was inevitable that they would have the typical delays caused by traffic, long lights, and the chaos that seemed to define Night City as a whole.

Rip mounted up on his bike and escorted the cab from just in front, where he occasionally glanced in his mirror to make sure all was going well back there.

Provided that they did not come across anything that would detour them...he escorted the cab back to the house where he had first met Phoenix.

Japan town NCART terminal, heading West

The NCART train was approaching the city centre when Jonno's cellphone beeped with an incoming text. It was LadyKoi's number with an address in the University District.
A glance at the route map showed the train would have to loop several stops north to reach the university area, or he could get off at Japantown and walk across the edge of the park, probably 10-15 minutes march.
After weeks cooped up in a one room apartment, he decided to get off at Japantown and walk.
He quickly texts LadyKoi back as the train pulls into the station.
On my way. ETA 15 minutes.


OOC -
Unless the GM throws me a random encounter (or I've misread the map), Jonno should be at Phoenix house in 15 minutes or thereabouts.
