I think the 500 gold for the journal just about makes up for what we were Short, when you announce 1000 gp for everyone, and some of us went ahead and spent 1000.

I'm not worried about it, you can have a small line of credit with me from time to time as long as it doesn't get ridiculous!

My thought was to expand the conversation with this woman a little. She's got a little authority and we're needing some help, especially with leads on Lamm. We can always turn in the brooch later, or we could use it for leverage. I just didn't think handing it right over would be the best thing if we could gain any ground with her without giving up such a valuable piece...

So yeah, I probably should have brought it up for discussion, but I don't think we've lost anything yet. Let's see how it goes...

Why use it for leverage with THIS woman? Someone already identified it as belonging to the Queen. I'd MUCH rather use it to gain favor from the City's ruler than one of its administrators.

No, I'm not thinking to leverage her, I just want to see what she'll give us without giving up the brooch right away. If things aren't going so well, then like you said, we can always use it to swing the conversation back in our direction, or to gain access to someone higher up the chain than her. Let's at least find out who she is and what her station is before we decide. Besides, Arias could speak up now... maybe she doesn't trust Guillemot. ;-)

I've updated the loot thread with the stuff you've taken from Lamm's lair. I tried to divvy up gold 'fairly' based on who took the expensive items, hope it's acceptable, if not you're welcome to trade!

By leverage, I mean for example, if we come across someone who's not keen to help us or give us information we need, or if we know someone's a baddie but we don't have sufficient evidence to crack'em. The region on the map marked in orange is a raised patio about ten feet up off the ground. The rest of the roofs are at least thirty feet high. See the picture as well as the map.

Guillemot (the way I understand it) went into the tavern through the door at H12-13.

Lamm is a fair ways away (-2 to hit from range increments from my count) and in partial cover (another -2), but that was a good roll so he's hit.

The gray areas are the tanglefoot touched ones. You guys actually got off super easy with the trap, you are entangled for 2 rounds, and not glued to the ground!
