Living on the fringe

Talus what a shithole.. But better than being locked up on kessels. You counted your self lucky to get out of Centre-point station, assaulting a stormtrooper was a serious crime in the empire, not to exclude smuggling, trafficking, and they probably slapped evasion of justice and trespass on you too. More importantly you got away, the ship didn't but you in the escape pod did, not that it mattered right now. Fracking storm trooper patrols had been every where today preventing you from returning to your bunker where you had been hiding out on Talus until things quietened down. What ever they were doing, they were bugging out now even troopers knew better than to stay in the contaminated zone after dark. Soon the creatures would begin to venture out form their numerous hidey holes. The Adar were viscious hunters very adaptive and once they got a foothold on a place the vermin were almost impossible to get rid of. You have a very little amount of time and a long way to go. Basically your f@#ked and you know it but it isn't in you just to give up. Doesn't matter now was the time to move!!

Living on the fringe

The only good thing Zack (real name “Zzzzlaaargothoxxekuquinitus Alkari”) could think of to say about Talus was that it wasn’t Corellia.  He’d spent three weeks on that scrumrat-infested mother of all shitholes and had been relieved when he could haul that illicit cargo back to centre-point he always preferred being in the sky or the stars as long as he was flying.

Of course, if a patrol caught him, he’d soon be retired from the breathing business.  Unless they just sold him into slavery, or sent him to die fighting on the ground of some mud pit.  To a natural born flier such as himself, that would be worse than having his days ended by a blaster to the back of his head.

He crouched near the railing on an abandoned factory  roof and watched ships of storm troopers take off heading for the spaceport on the other side of the city.  If only he were stowed away on one of them. Man that was a sweet YT2400 he thought. He was a good pilot... but who would give him a chance?  He was an alien, considered a member of a lesser species.

Not for the first time, he wished his vestigial wings were capable of flight.  He longed to be free like his eagle ancestors.

Living on the fringe

The ships zoomed off across the surface leaving you high on the factory roof the sounds of the retreating Stormtrooper transports and the YT 2400 giving way to the Adar beginning to emerge from their hiding places below.

Suddenly a flash of a blaster bolt streaks out to your right. A mere 100 yards away, it lights the darkening gloom of the evening. Someone else was out there in this deadly wasteland if they had a speeder you might just make it through this night alive.

Zack scurries over the roof, trying to locate the shooter without being seen.  Maybe if he helps somebody, they’ll help him back.  At least it was a chance.

Do I have a blaster?

In reply to Zachary Cockburn (msg # 4):

You move quickly across the factory roof soon coming to the edge ahead is a 6 foot gap to the next roof which is 5 feet lower than this one, and below ther is a 40 foot drop to the ground. You could go back to the stairs or you could try to fly...

ooc: yes you have a blaster it is on your equipment list. Do you wish to make the jump if so a strength roll please.

In reply to Zachary Cockburn (msg # 6):

You run to the edge and leap. For a moment you can even picture your self flying like your ancestors the you are falling. Down down is your decent between the buildings. You clang loudly off a coragatted iron awning over a window 10 feet below then you’re falling again before with a squelching splash you land is some large vat of blue ooze. You are able to climb out feeling bruised, battered and covered in blue but you have no broken bones. Damn you better hurry now.
OOC you take 1 wound level

He stays close to the wall, knowing how easily it would be to spot him since he was covered in blue gunk.  He follows the wall until he has a clear view.  Does he see any persons or vehicles?  If only he could reach that YT 2400...

Am I wounded, or stunned?  Asking because the chart lists ‘stunned’ as the first level of injury.

Living on the fringe

In reply to Zachary Cockburn (msg # 8):

You scoot along the edge of the abandoned factory coming to the corner of the building and ducking down behind some old rusted barrels stacked there. You look across an open area covered by rubble, a road running down the centre of It. An old generator rusted and in working sits off to one side and you count 2 Adar slinking in the deepening gloom.

Then you hear a scrape of claw on concrete and turning slowly to look between the drums you are crouching behind there not more than 8 feet from you is a 3rd Adar. It sniffs the air then snorts moving forward ignoring you, towards the damaged tank. The blue ooze must have masked your scent you were lucky this time.
Adar:

OOC: you were stunned

While taking care to avoid the Adars, and hunching over in an attempt to keep a low profile, he heads to the road and looks both ways.  If he sees anyone, he finds cover and gets behind it.  He also tries to figure out which way to go in order to get to the transport.
