Yeah I watch a fair bit of anime myself, been a pastime since I was younger. All the same 1/10th of Gown. Alright I can work with that.

For those who are unfamiliar just imagine yourself somewhere around a level 10-12 wizard in D&D or Pathfinder (maybe a Magus since we can use magic and fight). Consider level 5-6 spells from those systems the upper limit of your power. Ymdarr I would suggest looking at those spell lists as well to get a good idea of how you want to go forward with your spells.

Nice link for those who don't have the books:  https://www.dndbeyond.com/spel...amp;filter-sub-class=

It might be a little bit until my next post. Hopefully not.

But I am going to take some time to read over this and create a character sheet for myself based on both what I once was, and what current skills I have.

I think the cast is fine in terms of side. Posting will vary with real-life commitments, especially with the holiday season coming on. Beyond that games bleed players on RPOL so its always better to up quality than quantity.

I think I'll draft a character sheet as well, use descriptive terms rather than numbers, just to lay things out in the open.

I honestly think, starting with a small group of players is smart. It allows you to find your feet and work out any problems you might have to begin with. If you start to feel more comfortable, far be from me to stop you, but I think the current group is definitely a good size.

Ludos, God of Death

Divine Appearance: A quasi-corporeal humanoid who exists in a fluctuating wraith-like state. Mythology holds that the gates to the realm of the dead dwell within his voluminous
cloaks and robes.
Mortal Appearance: A tall, lithe framed man whose pale complexion and dark eyes make him appear perpetually saddened and tired. His voice is low and neutral when he speaks.

Innate Power: Keeper of Gates Ludos is the ultimate gatekeeper of all afterlives and is responsible for determining where souls go upon death. As such he can force souls
into various realms and keep them there unless they have some other means of traveling to a different plane.
Servitor: Collectors Wisp-like avian spirits which retrieve and ferry the souls of the dead to Ludos so that he may pass them into the next life.

HP: Poor
Mana: Great

Strength: Weak
Dexterity: Average
Constitution: Poor
Intelligence: Great
Wisdom: Sagely
Charisma:  Poor

Magic: Necromancy, specialty in Soul Magic

---

The gist is that Ludos is wise and intelligent but not particular strong or physically impressive. He's also not overly charismatic since he's the god of death, not the god of good feelings and happy times.

His magic is necromancy with a specialization in manipulating souls, hopefully for obvious reasons. He doesn't deal in undead tho so its mostly debuffing powers and auras (fear, pain, etc.). If need be he can always burn a soul for offensive power (I call it soulfire and imagine it as relatively powerful) but he prefers not to be so wasteful. That said if we are expecting demons all over the place their souls can be incinerated all day and he won't bat an eye.

I, unfortunatly, am heading to bed. And will most likely spend a good portion of my posting time tomorrow assembling my character sheet. However, if the others wish to continue, I will probably hop on when I'm done. Either tomorrow evening or some point on Wednesday.

Ludos! I wish to object to your statement about your Character having low charisma due to being the God of Death.

I'm not asking you to change it I'd just like to make my own case.

It could be argued that The God of Death would be the most Charasmatic because no matter who you are in life, whether we wish to or not, we all end up in deaths embrace. And I think that could be considered a "charisma" of sorts. One no mortal can resist.
Though that's just me.

(Pardon me while I borrow Ludos' Format.
I can't do skills right now, due to the fact that I left my notes at home. However, I can do the rest.
I will most likely keep it short and expand upon it when I am at my computer.)

Divine Appearance: Her form is based on those who see her, However, she holds the power to alter this perception.

Mortal Appearance: As a mortal she takes the form of a friendly girl in her young teens. Her hair and eyes are both dark and the expression on her face can very quickly change from friendly to cold.

HP: D+
MP: S

Strength: C-
Dexterity: C-
Constitution: B
Intelligence: A-
Wisdom: S
Charisma: ? (In constant flux)

Elle is not particularly gifted. Every one of her aspects has been built up over the millions of years she has existed.

Her magic greatly influenced the minds of others. While specialising in fear, manipulating other emotions is an incredibly important skill as well. Fear withowithout reprieve dulls the senses and quickly becomes obsolete.
She also has several other skills which allow her to create fear in a variety of ways, such as physically altering someone's form (for example, turning them to stone), or conjuring up things that can cause stress to the user (such as illusions, or actual creatures).
She can also alter her own form for these purposes.
While these skills are still apart of her arsenal, they have been greatly diminished, allowing for only a fraction of their original use.

(I'll try to post IC tomorrow)

Im debating who Elle might be acquainted with. The Goddess of Light seems unlikely, due to the fact that she governs Light and came to be long after Elle stopped introducing herself to Gods.

It seems she might know Ludos due to the fact that Fear and Death are fairly close together in the world. Plus he's old enough that she would have at the very least introduced herself to him.

Drahken also seems like someone she would know, due to, again, a connection between fear and the dark. However he's pretty young. She may have gone out of her way to introduce herself to him due to the connection though. Thoughts?

@Elle I think knowing Ludos makes sense. Everyone beneath 1m years old is likely to have never meet you.

@GM I'm traveling for Thanksgiving so I won't be posting IC until at least Sunday.

That sounds reasonable. I am making it so Ludos is the only God in the current party that Elle has met.

Also Happy Thanksgiving to those it applies to!

Hi all,

I hate to do this as I know that starting new campaigns is hard enough but I will be leaving this campaign. I already made the GM aware and wanted to say thanks to everyone here for our short adventure together.

I simply hate players who leave without stating it and so would rather let you all know.

Good luck with the rest of the campaign.

So I am fairly certain that this game is dead or on the fast train there. I wouldn't let this discourage you from trying again in the future GM. Rpol games die quickly and often.

That said I think this can be a teachable moment so I've listed some lessons that I hope you'll take with you as you work to improve and create more games.

  • Always create an OOC thread
  • Always give your players some background into the world, especially concerning their own abilities and limitations.
  • Pacing is key. Fight scenes are cool but players have to be brought into the world and showed why they are fighting more than simply doing so.
  • Never name an NPC that isn't going to be around for more than a scene. Never keep an NPC that your players don't engage with.
  • You get what you give in the end. Short responses often beget short responses.
  • Always give your players something to work with after your posts. A direction, a lead, a hook, something.

Beyond this you will learn more as you go on, both as a player and GM. I wish you the best of luck in the future.

I agree with what Ludos has said, but would like to add one more. I suppose it isn't as solid as the points that he put forth, but participating in games is a great way to learn how to run them.

You can see player/GM interaction. And how different GMs set things up and find a method that works for you.

Edit: now that I have reread what Ludos said, he kind of said this at the end.
