Re: OOC: In those Quiet Hours
I think you nailed it Neru, non-RPOL folks who just join a random game don't realize the sort of time commitment RPGs are or the time it takes to run them. Most of the time RPOL folks are just delighted when games don't die in a month that they're fairly easy to please. It seems RPOL folks stick around as long as the pace of the game stays consistent.

What other friends have you invited to RPOL, Neru? You sound like you have some amusing stories to share!

Ya this is why I use RPOL so much because it's freaking HARD to get a committed group in real life!

Re: OOC: In those Quiet Hours
So they claim they really want to play. Guess I can't say no to folks getting restless during quarantines. If anyone would like to join let me know as there are six slots left to fill. I'll put off on adding more folks here until after the God Game.

I'll be prioritizing updating this game during the mornings to make sure the God Game doesn't impact the game flow. With that said, I'm going to hold off on updating Nox moving to Littleton to tomorrow to give other folks time to wrap up their Mirrored Adventures.

I'd like to take part on that game. So far I've enjoyed all your games, so I don't see any reason not to.

Sounds good, any of you guys will be welcome to the remaining spots before I open it up to more acceptance.

If you haven't played a God Game before Neru, they're more like a strategy/world building game. It's really up to players to decide what they're going to do with themselves, the GM just adjudicates the results of the actions they take. You can find the rules below.

I gave it a quick glance, and it looks really fun. I never did something like that, but it's ought to be interesting.

Re: OOC: In those Quiet Hours
Interesting to see everyone picking the stat bonus option, I didn't realize that would be appealing. This is why I provide options though. I guess I've made those 1 value stats as painful as they should be so I'm going to pat myself on the back for making freeform stats feeling meaningful :P

Re: OOC: In those Quiet Hours
I was tempted to get the supernatural power but I had just gotten through talking about how the old ways were not fantastic so went for leaning into my mortality.

Re: OOC: In those Quiet Hours
Fair enough, none of the options were supposedly to be hugely attractive since they were essentially free Aspects. An adventure Aspects to give some flexibility in adventures and a world building aspect in case anyone had the itch to develop the world. Clearly people were eager to stretch their characters muscles though! Which is totally fine, that's why it was an option after all.

There is actually a realm gate out west that I need people to help me bust up. Looks dangerous and perhaps time sensitive.

my little side project can wait an adventure I suppose. Abathur is asking for help as a player and I want to respond to that so I'm going to go with him for the next adventure.

Re: OOC: In those Quiet Hours
Updated my post in the adventure thread since I realized I was leaving off at a boring spot. Moved the group on a little bit further, so if you read it right when I posted it you may want to check it again for updates.

Re: OOC: In those Quiet Hours
That mirror adventure helped. although I do remember the mirror adventures from the last game also had Superior aspects as well.

Re: OOC: In those Quiet Hours
This set of rewards was diminished since it was given out to everyone at once and it only really explored the characters past. The Mirror adventures in the previous Patchwork Game, and in this one going forward, will ask some some hard questions about how you plan to develop your character. Those will offer better rewards. Basically the harder the choices the better the overall selection will be.

Re: OOC: In those Quiet Hours
and I can fully appreciate that. I think it's more meaningful when you tailor the awards to the narrative behind the adventures that are generating them. Especially when you're also tailoring them to each of the characters too.

I know I've told you this before but choosing aspects and things like that is the favorite part of this game for me.

It sounds like folks are leaning towards going after the biggest predator, but it's still a bit fuzzy. Let me know if that's definitely the plan and I'll move on (Plus it gives Abethur time to weigh in.)

Lol Seris at your spell!

Talon I have a question. wasn't the location that we were supposed to meet at lit up by some sort of beacon of light or something? Since nox is high in a tree right now can he see that beacon?
