Adventure - Be Wary Weary Wanderer
Into the sanctuary Neru darted! He turned down one hall, threw open a door here, ran down another and then jumped through an open window in the floor to land in another identical hallway! Then he had to stop as his lungs were burning and his feet were hurting. It was a far cry from when the god of children could play for days on end without tiring. Nox and Seris caught up while he was gasping for breath, Nox was in no better shape than then the child god, but Seris was not even panting. So it seemed the decision was made. Into the labyrinth they would descend!

The expedition started with a sense of excitement, a wondering of what might lie around the next corner. That faded after a couple of hours. Each hall looked almost identical to the hall before it. Perhaps a picture was different in its frame or a plastic plant had a slightly different shape, but the drywall halls were the same uniform off-white, all the florescent lights buzzed the same and the carpet was an endless expanse of blue. Worse yet, not a single thing intercepted them whether to talk or attack. It was just hall after hall. Then the real danger presented itself. Nox and Neru felt a dryness in their mouths and small rumble in their bellies. Gods hunger and thirsted after all. In their prime glory those needs were infrequent and when they did demand satisfaction they could be met by drinking entire oceans or feasting for three days straight. But now they were even less than a mere mortal in their frail state. And their bodies demanded nourishment. Nourishment which was in scarce supply.

So they continued to walk. At some point they slept, then they rose again. The gnawing needs were growing more insistent. (Based on Endurance: -1 HP for Neru and Nox) And still they walked. Then they slept again. (Based on Endurance: -1 HP for Neru and Nox) The hunger at least dulled to a constant ache, but the thirst was growing maddening.  Even Seris was starting to feel the first pangs of it. But thankfully, something finally chanted in their surroundings.

The miles of uniform white walls grew a shade dark. Just a smidge, but as they walked those changes became more pronounced. Dark smudges here, the carpet a bit threadbare there. A door they opened creaked on its hinges. That had never happened before. Yes, the labyrinth was changing around them. These changes grew even more pronounced as they continued. Soon the paint on the walls was peeling, stained splotches appeared on the ceiling and the carpet started to give way in patches to reveal unfinished wood underneath.

Then came the unexpected! The sound of water! It was a faint drip drip drip. Ever so soft, but to thirst maddened ears it may as well have been a drum. Following its booming the group came to something unique in their travels. It looks like a conference room, dull and mundane, but it was definitely not a hallway. More importantly the ceiling had a black stain in the center and from that stain a steady droplet of water was coming down and landing on a table below. It was sweet life giving moisture!

OOC: The water will end up being safe to drink, so we'll skip agonizing over it for days!

With their thirst quenched, though their bellies still painfully empty, and some semblance of sanity returning with the thirst abated, the group took better stock of their surroundings. This crumbling part of the labyrinth seemed to have several offshoots. Through one door continued the halls, the ruin of them seeming to become increasingly pronounced, but who knew when they would find food or water down there again, but at the same time, was there a bottom to this maze? Another open doorway led to what appeared to be more office rooms like this moldering conference room they had found the water in. Lastly, there was one obvious question. Where was this drip of water coming from?

Decision

Deeper Into the Labyrinth - Continue down the twisting and turning corridors of the maze

Explore the Side Chambers - This conference room seemed to be one of several larger chambers. What might they hold?

On the Trail of Water - Lastly, the group could dig into the rotting ceiling and try to trace the source of this mysterious water back to its origin.

Adventure - Be Wary Weary Wanderer
At first Nox was about as excited as Neru was to explore something so interesting and unknown, although he did try and hide it while the child god did not. His fallen state did seem to give him new perspective on many things after all it would seem. But that excitement eventually faded and became concern and distress - something he hadn't truly felt in a very long time.

His stomach rumbled, and he gasped with surprise. And his tongue felt so dry!

"What is this?" he gasped aloud. "I...I don't like this feeling. It's disgusting. And painful in its own way. And my body is sounding more like a human's than a divine being's." he scoffed.

The primordial of Darkness had never truly felt hunger and thirst like this. He didn't need such things really, even less go than true gods. But now he was getting just as thirst and just as hungry as Seris and Neu and as any human child themselves would get if they were in a place like this.

Thankfully, as his body wasbeginning to slowly wear down from hunger and fatigue (-2 HP), he was able to will some of his divine essence to surge and boost his vitality (+2 HP from weekly Inspiration), but he wouldn't be able to that again for a long while. Which meant they had to do something and quickly before they starved to death or something. His fallen body was wearing out faster than his divine spark could repair it, and for the first time truly since the post-fall he felt fear! Although he retained his outward composure of course so Neru wouldn't tease him.

Once they found the water he freely drank from the dribble from the ceiling, relishing it like it was the nectar of the gods! He was relieved that it seemed safe but that feeling only came After he drank enough to relieve the thirst. But the hunger was gnawing at him but he knew from knowing many things thirst was more dangerous than hunger and they would last longer now that they had filled their bellies with water.

"So we found a source of water at least - it isn't marvelous or glorious but this ceiling quenches thirst at least. But food is becoming a problem. I do remember from before that many conference rooms like the ones we're standing in sometimes have snacks or refreshments put out depending on what type of meeting is happening in the room, not to mention water dispensers and such. I suggest we check out the other side conference rooms first and see if we can find anything to sustain us before delving deeper."

Seris was able to better contain her thirst and hunger than the two who traveled with her. Though, if things got bad enough. Seris had her ways to continue. Luckily though, they came across water. Something to help sustain them. Especially with how Nox and Neeru were looking worse for wear. She was only a few hours maybe even a day from where they were in terms of how her body used to be like theirs.

It was definitely a new sensation, but one that rewarded caution as she has found out.

Seris talked little, but when the topic of change of direction came, Seris disagreed with Nox, "Those do not sound like a meal. Much less, it took us days to find this water. If anything we should follow. It's source. If this is the only available water if there was something here to eat, it would be near the main source."

Neru let Nox and Seris do the talking first, having some extra water as they did so. He really ought to do something about this current body of his, or he will have barely any time to play around with all the cares it required.

"Hmmm... it seems I have to break the tie, and it isn't an easy choice. Conference rooms are perhaps the most boring places in the universe. Adults specifically design them to keep children away from their secrets noone really cares about. If we take that into account, Seris idea seems best, but..."

Neru struggled a bit in his own mind.

"Sometimes, conference rooms have vending machines, right? And where there is vending machines, there is sweets. I can't turn down sweets, even if it means entering adult territory."

Seris waved her hand lightly then, "Hopefully there is food to be had. When hungry, mine teeth itch. Puts me on edge, and I'll not starve." Bringing a claw up, Seris picked her teeth as she lazily followed. Her voice and words seemed more annoyed than her actual body language. However she was not used to hunger pangs.

"If there is nothing, we are returning here." Bringing her other hand down she lazily marked the wall with a trailing cut of her claw.

Adventure - Be Wary Weary Wanderer
Opting to steer to less winding roads, the divine trio went to explore the side chambers. Quickly they discovered that the initial office chamber was not indicative of what to expect. The next room looked like a medieval castle's great room with flagstone underfoot a huge roughly hewn table and a great fireplace hearth that was currently cold. The next room after that was a mall vestibule with polished linoleum floors and crisp white and glass store fronts. The door leading off from there connected to a car show room where a dozen different vehicles sat quietly. Each room had their own unique features that still seemed functional, the lights in the mall could be flicked on and off, a key in one of the cars was able to rev the engine to life. Each room was just... empty.

All these chambers joined together in a long chain so thankfully there was no chance of getting lost unlike the labyrinth which circled back on itself. Unfortunately, each room was devoid of food. Still, with how wildly different each new chamber was, it did not seem outside the realm of possibility one of them might hold something edible. They continued pressing further till their progress was halted unexpected by two suits of armor.

Flanking either side of a pair of dark wooden doors, the polished armaments were empty which made it all that much more surprising when they suddenly jerked to life and each lowered a halberd in front of the door and blocked the way. Their face plates were empty and there seemed to be no reasoning with them, the motions they went through appeared to be reactive, when the trio moved away from the door the armor lifted their weapons and returned to being at ease. It seemed they were only intent on stopping anyone from passing through the door they were guarding. That obviously begged the question; how to bypass them?

Seris was greeted by the unexpected as they traveled. Different sorts of buildings and craftsmenship. She was sure thay the end had something to do with the mixmatched buildings and designs.

Though, each of them were barren of food. That was the major problem Seris saw. However there was something new to distract them from their hunger, at least momentarily.

Testing their diligence and how they reacted. Seris walked closer then back. Their only job or reason seemed to guard the door. Looking to Neru and Nox, Seris spoke, "Thee do not look to be in shape for a fight. Do either have something useful up thy sleeves? I am more the fighter personally."

She put her hands on her hips, as her tail waged. Awaiting an answer.

Nox frowned.

"I'll be honest with you...I'm in no shape right now to tangle with a magical suit of animated armor. Before such a thing would be a joke but now this is a deadly threat. I don't think Neru could do much against it directly either. You are our lead knight in this, hellkitten." he replied.

"I mostly have some tricks to get away from it. I may be able to get myself past it though safely, but I cannot bring you guys along."
