I like that last caveat :p

In TF: Prime, I think it was really only Bulkhead who could carry their human inside. And even then it would be because she was an adrenaline junky.

I did a little of everything for the effect.

Now, here's hoping Rule of Cool is part of this system and I don't fall to my doom/embarrassment.

My work schedule is a little off today. I'll try to get something up tonight. I will be starting the campaign this weekend though so there's that to look forward to.

Hiiiiii~!  More Decepticons!  :3

On a topical note, I came across a really neat YouTube channel today that covers tons of Transformers history, lore, and information in a really easy-to-digest manner.  Very good edutainment.

Re: The Cybertronian Web - OCC

Mention of scale came up again in posts and I got curious to chart out the size differences.  I'm not actually sure how big everyone else is in this game?

Here's Gremlin in both Bot and Alt mode, set against a 6' tall Human and 22' tall G1 Optimus Prime: https://imgur.com/R9sUnWA

Re: The Cybertronian Web - OCC

I think we're supposed to ignore size and scale and Transformers. :) They get bigger and smaller all the time, except in the live-action movies.

All I know is Elegance is Size 3 and might make a Deluxe-class toy. :D Assuming her height is at least the length of her vehicle mode, she'd be over 4.7 meters, or 15.4 feet maybe?

Re: The Cybertronian Web - OCC

I'm roughly the size of Optimus Prime or Megatron if you prefer :), In fact in the distance I might could be mistaken for Megatron due to my forearm cannon though once anyone was close enough to make out colors, facial features, and the fact I also have shoulder mounted missile launcher, etc it would be obvious I'm not Megatron.

Windhammer and me have similar alt modes and size, we might be rivals of some sort, him being an Autobot and all, though I've adopted Earth Modes rather than Cybertronian ones.

In general, yes.  But since size has a mechanical function in this game and we're using the G1 base, there's use in having context.

Re: The Cybertronian Web - OCC

The sizes, as declared in the rules, are just relative to each other. If you're a size 3 you're an average Transformer size. Size 4 are for those bigger running like Prime and Megatron. Size 2 would be Bumblebee and Cliffjumper. There's no hard and fast rule to the actual sides though giving some latitude for interpretation.

As a question has gone up twice, I want to address something. I'm leaving this all intentionally vague so that if you guys what to work in some elements into the story, you're not being forced out of those choices. You guys what to have Frank Funklestein who's got financial troubles that can be exploited, put him into the narrative. You want a hard as nails commander with a couple of assets that can be called upon in the area, put him in. So long as it isn't too outlandish, I'm fine with it. I'm just here to make this as balanced as I can, but you guys will be driving the narrative for the most part with me throwing monkey wrenches in from time to time. Let those imaginations flow and have fun with this.

Re: The Cybertronian Web - OCC

Pretty much. I'm still working on the specifics, but I'm thinking of calling them battle boosts. Each characters will get one that they can use in an episode. If you want another then you would have to convince another Transformer to give up their battle boost. I'm thinking that transfers in this way might have a reduced outcome but I'm not 100% on it just yet. So each battle boost would be connected to a stat to give each Transformer something to roll against. afterwards in the next episode you would have to use a different stat so you couldn't use the same stat over and over and over again.

battle boost can be declared the for the episode to get the full value, but ones that are not declared would only be 75% effective. So say someone has a battle boost that's tied into a stat that's an eight, if used before the episode you would get the 8th but if you use it during the episode you would only have a 6.

I haven't finalized this idea but I want to roll with it right now and see how it works out. Hopefully that makes sense and of course this is a working progress so if you have any questions feel free to ask.

Re: The Cybertronian Web - OCC

Do we get bonus points if we can convince the other side’s battle boost to see the light of justice and nobility and join the autobot side?

Also, are these different from minicons?

Yes, they are different from the Minicons. They're just a vehicle to add something interesting into the narrative.

More info to come a little later tonight for the missions.

Re: The Cybertronian Web - OCC

@DM
Drumfire brings up a good question in another thread.  Even if we're all in G1 base, this is also an Armada retelling and there's a lot of mix-and-match about what lore is where.  Do we have space/land bridge technology for jumping around the world?  I assumed we did to begin with, as that was how I figured Gremlin got off Cybertron in the first place.  There's also the Teleportation tech in this game system, which I assume is based off small-scale bridge technology.

I'm going to have to admit, I'm far more into and knowledgeable about G1 than I am about Armada. So if I bugger up the time line or some such, apologies in advance <3

I was a fan back in the 80s, but I was a kid and barely remember it now. I only just got back into Transformers last year, with the movies and Prime and a few other things, so I'm also going to be vague on a lot of the details.

I don't know much about Armada I did read the wiki summary just to kinda familiarize myself, but if we have land/space bridge technology then that might be to convenient I don't know :). I know it was used a lot in Prime not sure about Armada.

I'm an old school fan, though I do like the War Within comics. G1 to Beasties for me, until Beast Machines of course, but we don't talk about that. I even met my husband through Transformers. I got a tattoo to commemorate that particular meeting.

In reply to Drumfire (msg # 139):

It's up to The All Spark to say conclusively one way or another.  But there is active Space Bridge and Land Bridge technology at use in Armada.  In the first episode of the anime, Megatron's debut appearance on screen is him warping in via Space Bridge.

@Kaboom
I miss Beast Wars.  I'd be lying if I said there wasn't some of my love for Waspinator in Gremlin's character here.  It's a damn shame how Beast Wars ended up due to all the executive "WE MUST SELL TOYS" meddling at the tail of the series.  Like, did the execs learn nothing from the Death of Optimus outrage?
