Re: OOC: Table Talk 1

Rigya:
Looking around, he singled out the strongest members of their party.

"Gnome, halfling!" he ordered heroically.  "Take the human woman in chain and get her to safety.  You may be small in stature, but I know your hearts are strong!"

Each taking a leg, the two began dragging her away, discarding her pack, shield, and weapons to shave weight.  They started out poorly coordinated and quickly discovered that they could not choose to go around either side of a tree while dragging their load between them.

LOL...

Clatsi and Lannet both have Strength scores of 6! Both are less than 3 1/2 feet tall.

Rigya probably weighs about 200 pounds, including armor, shield, weapons, gear, etc.

They definitely can't pick her up and carry her away, but they might be able to drag her body through the woods, with a lot of effort. Will definitely be slow going...hopefully she survives the ordeal :)

In reply to Clatsi Clatterstones (msg # 359):

I'm sorry to hear this.  I hope everything turns out ok and that you are able to return, if not to this game then another.

Take care.

I honestly thought that Lowel was there too.  Maybe without him, Clatsi and Lannet don't even try . . .

Next time, I'll go with my first instinct which was: don't express concern about the fact that I am luring the ettin toward the others. :)

Yeah. Lot of fog of war during this encounter due to the fact the party has been separated for most of it. It's entirely plausible even Ullie assumed Lowel was still around, or overlooked the fact Lannet and Clatsi would be hard-pressed to cart off Rigya.

At any rate, Lowel is marching away from the tower, through the woods toward the rally point, and has been for several rounds.

Fog of war is real.  We just have to deal.

Besides, Ullie's plan is going to work, and we'll all have a good laugh about it later. :)

I think we're waiting to see if Sharn attempts to attack from behind.

Re: OOC: Table Talk 1

Yeah. That and the fact I have been busy the past few days with spring break activities, mostly setting up container gardens, and honestly, just relaxing a bit.

If Sharn hasn't posted by tomorrow morning, I will assume the she will follow the rest of the party and use the opportunity to flee.

As a heads-up, I will be traveling for work, heading out tomorrow afternoon and returning Friday evening. I will have internet access, but these business trips tend to make for long days with minimal posting opportunities.

Thanks,

Shane

Obviously I didn't get a chance to post before I flew out. Hotel has minimal internet (yay for military lodging!),but will be headed home tomorrow and will post then. Thanks.

Re: OOC: Table Talk 1

Bittersweet business trip. Likely my last one while still in the Air Force, back to the base I arrived at 25 years ago for technical training to become a weather forecaster. Got to walk the halls and see the future generation of Airmen doing the same training I did all those years ago, talked to some of them, etc.

Appropriately, my bags also didn't make it home with me and are now on the other side oft he country, flying back to me. :)

At any rate, didn't really have much free time to post this past week until today.

Just noticed I didn't include Sharn in my post. Let's assume she arrives with party.

Friday, April 8 I am going on a short trip, returning midnight Monday, April 11 and ruining at least half of Tuesday.  My posting may be intermittent, particularly on the travel days.

Before reacting in character, where did Ullian get a horse?

Re: OOC: Table Talk 1

From his magical bag of horse holding?  No?

Sigh.

I guess I should edit that . . .

Creating imaginary horses is what happens when you arrive early to the airport, only to find that your plane is delayed and you won't be landing in your home city until 2 a.m.

Does Sharn happen to be carrying a golden harp?

Yes. I assumed Sharn still had the golden harp.

Congrats! The party successfully rescued Arialle and survived the harrowing encounter against the ettin.

Also...Clatsi, Sharn, and Ullie have earned enough XP to level!

Re: OOC: Table Talk 1

If Sharn held onto the harp, I think we should say she slipped it into a backpack or sack so that no one else knows that she has it.  Then she can make a big reveal, or not.

If she'd been carrying it openly, it would have been noticed before now.

Lowel didn't enter the town.  He's staying in the forest to see how it's doing.

Been busy with work stuff, namely retirement/transition seminars, etc.

Still here, just buried under real life at the moment. Thanks.

Re: OOC: Table Talk 1

Yes. Retiring from the Air Force after 26 years of service. Will be on terminal leave at the beginning of December 2022 and OUT of the Air Force February 1st, 2023.

Been rushing around attending transition seminars, getting medical stuff sorted out, etc.

Scary stuff after years of not having to think about much other than doing my job.

Re: OOC: Table Talk 1

I'm approaching the outer range of time where I can think about retirement.  I like my job, though, so I'm not sure I'll be doing it early.

Now if I could retire from other things in my life, that would be great.
