Dragon Heist is a short campaign for the Fifth Edition Dungeons & Dragons role playing game. Should the adventurers succeed in overcoming the various dangers that they are confronted with, the series of scenarios should see the characters from the first to the fifth level of experience.

Dragon Heist is different from many published Dungeons & Dragons campaigns, in that it takes place entirely within an urban area: Waterdeep, the City of Splendors. Besides being rich in lore and fantastic settings, the city provides for many different types of gameplay. While the traditional activities of exploring underground locales and vanquishing deadly monsters play a significant part in Dragon Heist, there are a number of other endeavors that the characters will take part in as well: social interaction, political intrigue, investigating mysteries, and even a potential chase or two through the colorful streets. In short, Dragon Heist, on the whole, is a campaign that encourages role playing and provides a great canvas for players to develop their chosen personas.

For those that do join in, I will provide some essential information regarding Waterdeep and its environs, so that players will have a firm grasp on some of the essential elements of the city before they begin walking its crowded streets.

To be up front, I have gamemastered role playing games for a number of years now. I have experience with several RPG systems, including many of the previous editions of Dungeons & Dragons and Pathfinder. Working with some outstanding players, I’ve been able to see several great stories to completion here on RPoL. That said, this will be my first turn at running a Fifth Edition campaign. I’m committed to providing a fun game for all who participate and believe that the material will produce an experience that is both cinematic and memorable. Hopefully, it will be an enjoyable undertaking for all who partake.
