Sorry sounds worse than really is

No... that sounds as bad as you described!

Assume that Thente shared the response from SEER with passwords and such about Yartar and goals there.

...U'lin are you in America? Because this bullshit sounds exactly like what my local friends tell me about the American health system. (if it wasn't obvious before, I'm from South East Asia)

In either case, my condolences for that horrible experience. If you need some time off to recover, that can easily be arranged.

Re: OOC Chat - 005

Speaking as an American, yes, the utter debacle our government has the nerve to call a "health care system" is several tiers of bullshit.

In giving U'lin a chance to deal with medical concerns and recover, we can always move along to keep momentum and just say he's spending time mulling on Moira's question.  Or perhaps started to and got distracted thinking up blueprints in his head for his next big project.  ^^;

As for things like Cyric's Dagger and the black market goods, Moira would both agree and disagree with Felgolos; she wants to take them, but for the purpose of delivering them to the Church of Waukeen in Yartar where they can be properly handled/disposed of.  The basic thought is "well, the church would be more than capable of and interested in getting rid of such elements, and my bringing it to them would get me some brownie points with the higher ranks/might help with the Resurrection Project debt".

Well, Felgolos' offered solution is to quite literally melt the entire thing in dragon fire which...honestly is probably up there with most disposal methods.

But brownie points is fair :P

Felgolos: +10 CON bonus, immune to fire, can will himself to pass any saving throw

The Party: Can't

One of these days Felgolos is going to figure out that Humanoids aren't quite capable of withstanding what he is when it comes to disposing of hazardous materials.  ^^;

Re: OOC Chat - 005

Nothing says we have to be around when he disposes of them.

I'm all for leaving all the drugs/poisons/etc for Fegolos to burn after he returns from taking us back the next day. It's just the items themselves, not information on how to create/distill/etc right?

The Cyric dagger... I'm torn on. It could be SUPER useful to have if we run into a super evil bad guy just to make sure they don't have a clone hanging around waiting for them in case of death. But it is pretty bad mojo too. so... torn.

Re: OOC Chat - 005

You don't need an insight check for it - he basically wants to know what you're going to do with what he sees as highly dangerous goods, and if you are able to prevent it from being misused. If its anything besides destroying on the spot, you'll need sound convincing, which is basically what a charisma check is.

No silver bullet for this convo I'm afraid.

So: not going to kick bucket. Doctor that used excessive force and old technique is retiring, tg
Only another two months of pain , walking funny, and no swimming or picking up anything over 5lbs (incl my daughter)
Last part is the worst by far.

Re: OOC Chat - 005

Picking up, no, but there's always hugs?

As for the insight check, I think U'lin was asking about Moira's question, DM.  But the reply is much the same; there's no obvious "right answer" that Moira is searching for.  She's genuinely asking U'lin's view on the situation.  Even saying "no" or 'I don't know" are perfectly valid responses.

With the black market loot; Moira's stance is as stated, but if the rest of the group feels itchy about carrying around such things outside the lair, she won't press and will leave it to Felgolos to destroy them himself.  She would, however, be more insistent about the dagger and would prefer to deliver that to the church: she has to bring them a rare magic weapon to begin with.

Re: OOC Chat - 005

Alright it looks like its

-Destroy poisons and drugs, give Moira the dagger? If so, give me a Persuasion/Deception check Moira. If you can give an appropriately appealing IC speech to Felgolos, you can make it with advantage.

-U'lin and Moira's convo will be put on hold as his player recovers. We'll say the they're ruminating.

-Any thoughts on the other items found? The onyx/robe?

Re: OOC Chat - 005

I'm sorry to hear about that terrible experience U'lin, kudos to you for actually undertaking that (albeit ridiculous) journey. I'd probably have just laid down and died. XD Hope the recovery process goes as smoothly as it can!

Poisons/drugs: Claire would approve of Felgolos destroying them. As a player though, do you think they'd be useful if we want to pursue the Zhents? (like as bait for a sting operation)

Dagger: Also destroy. But Claire will be easily persuaded if Moira wants to take it to a religious order for safekeeping/disposal.

Onyx: Given that Claire recognizes the stash of black onyx as strongly suggesting necromantic activity, Claire would advocate for bringing it to a religious order's attention, preferably one with some interest in cracking down on necromancy. Would definitely ask Felgolos about the wagon in which it was found - who was in the wagon and when did he find it?

Robe: Since it's sized for someone 6 feet tall, that makes it a little bit long for Claire. Thente, Ethgar or U'lin?

Re: the onyxs - did we receive details that they were necromantic stones, not generally helpful thingers?

U'lin's worried about the Waukeeners selling the soul-stealing back into circulation, but if that's guaranteed to not happen, U'lin's probably more flexible.

Back at home.  Posting should resume more normally all, thanks.

Yes, Claire knew that as part of her clerical training, communicated via a [Private] from GM. Sorry for neglecting to mention that!

Figured so, but it made a big difference in how U'lin would note it.
And when you mean necromantic, the bad necromantic spells, not like revivify, etc. right?
