Rec Room (OOCs)

Hello there. I guess I'd be covering the medical needs of the team. Culhayn will be an specialist in Life Science, as well as a good Face if needed.

Rec Room (OOCs)

In reply to Culhayn (msg # 11):

I have access to the medicine skill, if you'd prefer to go another route.

Edit: I've got sniper, longarms, and heavy weapons.  Also explosives (engineering) and medicine.   Someone else is going to have to be the face, though.

Rec Room (OOCs)

At this point i picked up all the mechanic skills. But if we got so many with medicine maybe i'll aim for pilot mechanic. Don't think its fun if we have to many medics.

You can't have too many Medics! What if the Medic gets shot? Who's going to fix him up?

Korasha Lashunta here. Basic and Advanced Melee Weapons and Small Arms.

Skill strengths are Athletics, Mysticism, Physical Science and Stealth.

Rec Room (OOCs)

Okay, Character Generation update. I forgot to take into account Level for starting equipment, mostly because I was originally basing it on everyone starting at 1st Level.

Since everyone is 3rd level, starting credits will be 8,000.

Additionally, you can purchase equipment, armor and weapons up to 6th level.

AND... you can select one weapon OR armor at up to 6th level for free.

I must admit, this system is much more confusing when it comes to character creation than I'd originally considered.

It does seem like it, doesn't it? I'm not sure the game is a winner yet, but it is science fiction/fantasy, so I guess I'll have to wade through it.

And if we don't mind to much overlap i'll cling to the medical expert as its actually gave me a background idea.

quote:
Universal Repair Material: Often referred to as ‘advanced duct tape’, this tough synthetic tape is sturdy enough to make physical and mechanical repairs. It is waterproof and can be applied underwater, making it useful for repairing leaks in swimming pools, boats and even spacesuits. It can also be used to repair shoes or to make small items (such as a wallet, hat, beach bag, backpack, belt, apron, cup, bowl, mask, bowtie, etc.). It is available in over 100 colors and patterns, such as black, white, silver, military green, camo, pink, pink camo, leopard, etc.

Great no i got to redo my entire character ;-)

The force field we get. I assume it follows all the normal rules for taking up two slots on an armor to install it into?

I guess I'm mostly finished with my character sheet (there are some formatting issues and information that should be better distributed, but the overall information seems to be there), and I guess I got a good grip of who Culhayn is right now. I'll make an IC post soon.

Rec Room (OOCs)

I think im done. Even included the GM's gear.

Just on the fence about the Force field as no armor at our level really supports the 2 upgrade slots needed for the force field.

Backstory wise im a mechanig in a Laubu Mesa hospital. Married to a doctor and already in te grandchildren age. Wife died and i set out spave faring to rediscover myself.

Gear wise i bought 10 rolls of duck tape, 10 packages of binders and a toolkit that i called WD-40 Im the supreme handy man now.

Rec Room (OOCs)

*grumble, grumble*

I really hate the layout of Starfinder (and most of Pathfinder) as you have to hunt through a dozen places to find the rules to cover each subject. Completely missed the Slot rule for armor.

On the other hand, there are three armors available: Estex I & II, and Ysoki Refractor Suit.

I could just say it's a belt, but you've already got a belt. The Force Field does some of the things that the EFG does, so I think it probably makes more sense to combine the two into a single unit (as opposed to make the Force Field a vest or something).

On another note, is it just me, or does the CRB not explain what a Push is?

Rec Room (OOCs)

In reply to StarMaster (msg # 26):

Every armor does exactly what your belt does. So dropping it or even making the belt a forcefield that protects against the enviornment as a bonus isn't to bad.

But yeah layout wise its a pain. You know the replacement batteries are all only under ammo and not listed in any other place so i been looking through the gear section thinking i was looking over them but my jump pack batteries are just in the regular ammo section.

Not sure what sort of push you are looking for. But in combat it would be reposition. P 246

Rec Room (OOCs)

Neither PF or SF wiki were any help.

Push that I'm looking for has to do with Crew Actions during Starship Combat.

Yeah. While I can understand why they'd put batteries in with ammo, it's really counter-intuitive.

Guess all the CRB says about Push actions is that they are difficult and can't be done when the associate system is malfunctioning or wrecked (pg. 322).

Push is a descriptor just like Attack action and Move action. Some things you can do listed on the following pages list actions that have it. Fire at will for example is a gunnery phase push action and lets you fire at a -4 penalty.

Btw how are you going to do the ship stuff? We as players build it or we get a GM created?

And Ship roles are those NPC or we got to fill em?

Rec Room (OOCs)

The rules as written don't offer the appropriate type/size of ship for the game purposes, but they do mention that there are many more ships than are listed in the rules.

So, the ship will be a custom GM-generated ship.
