With a simple phone call, Roberto notifies the New York chapter that he's in town. He changes into his tuxedo, and by the time he reaches the lobby a limousine with black windows is waiting at the hotel promptly to pick him up.

The limo travels only a few block before it rolls into an underground garage. As the chauffer opens the back door to help him out, Roberto finds himself standing before a large, old wooden door carved with reliefs of demonic creatures enjoying all sorts of unearthly pleasures.

Roberto gives the secret knock, and to man in 18th century livery swing the doors open to a plush and decadent world.

"The Black Queen of the New York chapter welcomes the Black Rook of the Rio de Janeiro chapter," one of the doorkeepers says.

A butler comes to take his coat. Servant wait a few steps away to offer him hors d'ouvres and take orders for drinks. There's no Prohibition down here, that's for sure.

A muscular man with slick black hair and a Russian accent is in the lobby, directing four servants on the proper placement of a stuffed...wait, is that a DINOSAUR???

As Roberto looks around he remembered why he joined them in the first place. It was a place of decadence. But, more importantly he looked at who was present.
He orders a glass of red wine. First, momentarily distracted he wanted to know where the heck the dinosaur was found, so that he might himself have a stuffed dinosaur in his main mansion. It was located in Brazil sure, but he figured that he would go back there soon enough. So he decided to talk to the Russian. "Hello, may I ask how you procured such an excellent specimen.

The tilts his had back with a bellowing triumphant laugh.

"Ha ha! This is joke? Da? Up there with 'Dr. Livingstone I presume'? Is wonderful joke!"

He gives him a collegial thump on the back.

"You are new in town Sailor? As they say? My name is Sergei Ivanovich Kravinov!"

He offers the secret Hellfire Club handshake.

"But in this establishment I am called the Red Rook of St. Petersburg chapter, dissolved due to political...inconveniences."

A wide smile crawls beneath his bold curled mustache.

. Here, I am the Black Rook of the Rio de Janeiro chapter. Ah, sorry yes I am indeed new in town, I had no Idea I would find fin fang go On, and the hunter who felled him when I went here today. It must have been quite exhilerating having hinted, and telling the beast. Surely it was quite the taken where was the battle where you felled fin fang foom?  Roberto replied.

"Ah, new in town! That explains it! Well my fellow Rook, I have recently returned from the Savage Lands. And I assure you, having captured many beasts in the deepest jungles of the Amazon Basin...and every other jungle drawn out on the map...I can assure you that there are, in fact, jungles in the Antarctic where the Dinosaurs never went extinct! It is truly the land that time forgot! Boundless resources await...and for the brave and affluent, it's the ultimate hunting ground!"

Yes Indeed. I attempted to go there in the past, before I even knew there were dinosaurs located there, but I was stopped. By Shield, The Brazilian Government, even The League of Nations stopped me from learning anything about the place. So, how did you manage to get up there? Roberto decided to inquire.

"I received special permission from the King of Latveria, along with the Roxxon corporation in exchange for half of all future profits. Apparently his nation sent an exploration team in the 1800s and decided not to tell anyone. I did see carvings in the rock at some natural landmarks suggesting this to be true. Of course the old treaties cover landing by boat but don't say anything about flying in rocket! Very clever that Reed Richards! But Von Doom will have his bouncing head hanging over his throne soon enough!"

Yes, that would be quite infuriating. So, what can you tell me of the Roxxon corporation? They seem to be doing something quite perplexing with just buying up rainforest. Roberto seeing an opportunity decided to pursue it to see if The Red Rook knew of anything on why.

He reaches for a martini carried on a platter by a dervant and takes a sip.

"Perplexing? Nyet. Is what companies do, but everything and everyone. Maybe you should be on winning side, yes? Especially when next war comes. Why don't you offer for Roxxon to buy you out? Maybe they give you nice job, king of your own little oblast or whatever they call it in Brazil..."

He takes another sip then leans in closer.

"You are what, 25? 28? I am proud I do not look it, but I am old enough to be your grandfather. How quickly you have risen in the ranks! And here I am, still a Rook! I am not jealous, no not all. It is because I have too much fun going on safari! I like you. You apply to Roxxon. I give you best reference, fellow Rook."

I can not make any promises, but I'll consider it. It depends on the job offer itself. And how a merger would work out. So, I can't make any promises, but I will consider it. Roberto says. Trying not to upset the man, and the information it could provide is tempting. And if he's a part of a bigger corporation that means he can move up the ranks even without making the company any bigger. So, it would have to come up with the job offer itself that make him choose wether or not he'd accept.

"Listen, I invite you to show to see the grand catch. You see this specimen over here? Is MORSEL compared to the great FIN FANG FOOM! I give you front row seat. Do not worry, you would be too spicy for him!"

A blonde in a black ballgown that leaves nothing to the imagination walks by the two Rooks as he laughs. Kraven's head turns to watch as she opens one of the doors down the hall and gives a come-hither look before entering and closing the door behind her.

"Checkmate..." He holds out the glass and a servant rushes to catch it before it falls.
"We Russians are known for long greetings and short goodbyes. Enjoy your night!

He takes a brisk walk down the hall and opens a door. He grimaces, and then shuts it.

"Wrong door..."

He opens the door further down and begins to laugh as he enters and shuts it behind him.
