[SCENE] In the Darkforce...

quote:
Peter winced when he felt the pain from Kraven’s grip squeeze his arm but it was soon drowned out thanks to Kraven’s words. Why creeps always wanted to monologue was beyond him but this turned out to be exactly what he needed to hear. Like with most people when he became angry it could let people fight even harder than before, and while he was no hulking monster the emotion served just fine in this moment. Toomes lying crippled on that rooftop was a prime example of what happened when Peter was sent into a rage and that particular incident paled in comparison to vision of New York this hunter spoke of.

The images of humans turned into monsters rampaging across the city, of those he still gave a damn about either being made into creatures or killed by them all for the sport of a madman. People being used for another’s whims and delights. Just like Gwen. Like Ben… A memory flashes in his mind and with it all the sensations from that night. The sound of something or rather someone being pummeled, the wet squelching of a person being reduced to a bloody pulp, the vibrations of his fists striking into flesh, the blurred vision thanks to a mix of uncontrollable rage and tears filling his eyes. The cries for mercy and the blood from those words splattering onto his mask though they were unheard from his own words that he punctuated with each blow.

That thought along with the pounding of his own heartbeat was all heard. Not the beating of the dragon’s wings, the continued ranting of the madman or even the pair of teens who were offering him a chance to escape. It was not until he glanced back did he notice the duo. Even if he was thinking clearly he would not flee. Once he set his mind to a task he was going to see it through for better or worse and this one was certainly going to be the latter. Not only for him but Kraven as well.

His body moved thanks to him finding the strength to take the hunter away from his precious pet. He knew what Tyrone’s cloak could do and in his current situation there was no way he could escape its pull. This fact did not bother him though, if he was going for a trip then so was Kraven. Peter’s arm was still locked in the vice that was his foe’s hand but his other arm was still unrestrained. He punched Kraven thrice in the kidney with enough force for the man’s grip to lessen and with it he wrenched his arm free. Now free he grabbed Kraven’s arm then with his own crushing grip held on while he jumped back into Tyrone’s cloak. Now there would be no one on the dragon and the fliers could engage it without fear of friendly fire.

Not that Peter was worried about that part now that he was in the swirling darkness still locked in combat with a man who was determined to turn the city into his own personal playground.

Kraven was matching Peter punch for punch. Tandy's beacon seemed to orbit them as they hurtled through the darkness with no perspective.

Kraven had his own beacon. There was a glowing gem the size of a fist embedded in his chest that pulsed menacingly. Even as they battled, images from the darkest recesses of their minds passed by like clouds in the storm.

For Kraven, it was fleeing with his parents with only a stuffed lion in his hand as the Bolsheviks set the family mansion ablaze. It was the drunken brutality he showed towards his servants and mistresses. It was murdering the priests in that ancient temple...

[SCENE] In the Darkforce...

In reply to The Narrator (msg # 1):

Tandy stood on a solid surface, despite being in the void. She knew Tyrone could see and hear them, but was not physically present. She held her dagger up in her left hand, it creating a zone of light around her. The same light came from the circle mark around her right eye, which would also protect her here even if she threw the dagger.

It looked like she would have to. Kraven and Spider-man where still fighting. While this void was a really dumb place to have said fist fight, inside the sphere of light they would all be safe...from the darkness anyways.

However, she noticed Kraven's gem seemed to posses its own inner light. The same light might protect him from the void, but Spider-man would have no such advantage if he got too far away from Tandy or the dagger.

Tandy had a idea. Like most reflective stones, the gem in Kraven's chest seem to bounce any light that strikes it. However, if she could overload the stone with the dagger's light and a sharp impact of the blade, it might break. Thus giving Spider-Man the advantage.

She drew back her arm, and the dagger glowed as she prepared to throw it. She was not worried about hitting Spidey, as she could control the dagger's movements with her mind. That being said, if Kraven was held still it would be much easier...

[SCENE] In the Darkforce...

Inside the void Peter was unaware of the dark presence at first though his sixth sense told him quickly enough how dangerous this environment was. The feeling of some alien entity watching him, threatening him to get close could be felt as it almost seemed to relish the thought of him stepping outside of what he assumed was the light produced by Tandy. It must be what was holding the monstrous force back and while he did not fully understand he possessed a good enough idea that it would not be wise to stray outside the beacon. This obviously would make the fight with Kraven even more difficult than it was already was.

On top of that there was something else peculiar about this place. Whatever it was it could worm its way inside their minds and play their worst memories as if they were on film. For his own the first was the night his parents died, showing him as a young lad being told he would never see them ever again. It flittered past with the next being him being set upon by a swarm of vile looking spiders that erupted from a broken statue before darkness took him. The next was him fighting a group of Osborn’s thugs in a random alley but during the fight a stray bullet hit a bystander. He turned and saw the victim a little girl dead in the street. His fists clenched as he set upon the shooter before another bullet could be fired. He jumped over, shooting webs from both wrists until the gunman’s arms were wrapped up with the barrel of the man’s own gun pointed up to the criminals chin. Peter locked eyes with the thug, their faces inches apart before he twisted the ends of the webs still in his hands and made the gunman take his own life. Blood splashing across Spider-Man’s mask as the corpse dropped to the cement.

The next was him discovering those damn photos followed by Gwen and the bridge then what he did to Osborn’s men who were responsible for the death of his wife. The memories continued to play, his rampage on all Osborn held dear until he finally faced the mobster himself and how when he defeated Norman he did not take the villain’s life. Instead he marred the bastard’s face until Osborn’s nickname “the Goblin” wasn’t just for show. Maybe these memories were meant to unsettle him, to show this being could see his fears but all they served now was to make him angrier than he was before.

A glance to Tandy who held her arm back ready to throw was enough for him to discern her goal. Her weapon was the most powerful thing they had at their disposal and he intended to make sure she used it to its full capacity on the hunter. He lashed out with a wide strike from each arm, his fists connected with both of Kraven’s ears to disorient the man. With his foe off balance he shot a web between Kraven’s legs and used it to shoot himself through the opening so he was now behind his target. With a solid kick to the back he shot a web to encase the man’s head at the same time. Hopefully this would be enough to buckle Kraven’s knees while keeping him in place with the line of web long enough for Tandy to hit her mark.

He ripped away the webbing like it was paper, and the gem grew ever brighter.

"You think your glowing trinket can stop me? I possess the BLOODSTONE OF CYTORRAK! I am IMMORTAL! I am INVINCIBLE! I am a JUGGERNAUT! I am...!"

A huge jagged insect leg thrust out from Kraven's abdomen. Kraven stopped, and stared up at the face of the very Spider-God that cursed Peter to begin with. Tandy and Tyrone for the first time witnessed the behemoth, as large as the dragon they were fighting but even more horrific, as if a crazed deity had been tasked to fashion a gigantic spider using only human body parts.

"BY YOUR OWN ADMISSION YOU ARE GUILTY, KRAVEN! THERE ARE SPECIAL PUNISHMENTS FOR THOSE WHO STEAL FROM THE GODS! AND FROM HERE I SHALL DELIVER YOU TO CYTORRAK MYSELF!"

Kraven's scream is muffled as a caccoon spins in seconds around him, only the glow of the gem indicating the prey was still alive.

"PARKER. FIN FANG FOOM IS NOT GUILTY IN THIS. FOR THE BALANCE HE MUST RETURN OR YOUR WORLD IS DOOMED.

With a sound of a webline being cast, but amplified to the sound of a roaring train, the Spider-God whisks away through the void on its astral mission until the red pulse vanishes from view, and Tyrone's darkness again retreats when the three land on solid ground.
