Re: Abyss Station - Ancient Artifact

The Science Officer quickly moved to the stricken man's side and began running a basic medical diagnostic with his tricorder.

"Easy there, Lieutenant. Let's take a look at you. What's your name again?"

23:34, Today: LCDR Christopher Decker rolled 14 using 3d20 with rolls of 10,1,3.  Basic medical scan/exam - Reason(12)+Medicine(4) w/3rd die from momentum.
4 successes, baby! Decker is back on his game!
Two free questions:
1. What is Tsolo's general physical condition.
2. Is he also being affected by the radiation?

Re: Abyss Station - Ancient Artifact

The man now is lying on his back. His upper left side of his head is bruised, perhaps to the bone. Something is wrong with is eyes. His left arm, shoulder (bone bruise?) to knuckles, is bruised. His ribs are lightly bruised. His left hip is bruised (bone bruise). his feet are bruised, and he's feeling pins and needles as fully sufficient blood flow returns. He's dehydrated, and in need of nourishment. He is in pain, enough that it is a wonder that he's not screaming.

[Don't know about radiation.]

"He's in great shape," JavKer snorted, regarding Tsolo.

"You look a little better, Commander," he said, regarding D'rala.  "What the hell happened here? Whatever you did, it's set the whole singularity to spinning." the Independence's Tellarite CHief ENgineer (CHENG) asked.

"Ohmigod, did I do that?" Mcreeg gasped, horrified at Tsolo's condition.  "I'm so sorry!" the helmsman gasped, moving as close as he could in his fully-sealed environmental suit.

Decker's tricorder scrolled data across it's screen as he scanned Tsolo...

Tsolo's condition is as his player stated, and there are no signs of serious effects from the radiation.  It obviously affects Vulcans differently.

Re: Abyss Station - Ancient Artifact

"The singularity's spinning?" D'rala's shock is written clearly across her face. She shakes her head, grimacing. "Damnit."

"We--the away team--had been making trips to this artifact for weeks. We'd found a computer terminal on the exterior. You probably saw it coming in. We finally figured out to activate the thing on our most recent expedition; we even got a door open. The security system, though," she explains, and pauses, haunted. "When I led my team in things went wrong very quickly. I tried to get them all out, to retreat, but it was too late. We were the last two standing when the roof came down."

She casts her gaze to Lt. T'solo, the last other living member of the team she was responsible for, receiving medical attention.

"We all need to evacuate this thing right now."

"Correct", stated ch'Pertha, agreeing with Vex immediately.
This was their primary mission; secondary to discovering any information they could that might help settle the singularity outside.

"T'Lara and Vex, ensure Saghalie can accompany us with at his best rate possible.
Mcreeg and I will take point.  JavKer and Decker scans all around us; we want both he quickest way out, and heads-up to any surprises that you can give us
".

As soon as possible, when the team was ready to move, ch'Pertha lead the way ... phase out.

Re: Abyss Station - Ancient Artifact

Someone being hurt by something Mcreeg did chills him to the bone, his actions as much instinctual as thought out, and he's always trusted himself, and even tho he did things as right as he could, still, it affected one that was not the enemy, and, couple with everything going on around him, around them, he begins to feel it overwhelming his..

until...

He hears his name, and an order being given, and he latches on to it, focuses on it, pulling him back to the here and now, to being a solution, not more of the problem, his eyes hardening, determination written on his face as he does as he was told, moving to the front, taking point..Falling into step with CDR ch'Pertha, phaser at the ready, his eyes never resting on one spot too long...

Re: Abyss Station - Ancient Artifact

Decker pondered for a moment what the Lieutenant needed and what they had the time and resources for - not much. He settled on a moderate pain killer and a minor stimulant. "Obviously we don't have the time to really fix you up, but this should get you on your feet long enough. But be *careful*. You're going to feel a lot better than you actually are. Don't overdo it."

He stood up and addressed the XO, "Commander, we're leaving? Without completing our primary mission?"

ch'Pertha turned to Vex and Saghalie, "I don't suppose that you were working to interface with some kind of control room around this place, when things starting going wrong?"
I got us some eggheads of varying flavours that might be able to fix things.
"Decker, did you say something about a transmission point just up ahead?

"Mcreeg, do what you can to establish a comms link with Independence, preferably ... or at least our shuttles".

T'Lara for her part would have been happy to leave as fast as possible and never come back -  if it wasn't for the fact that the station was about to obliterate a planet, and everyone on it.  She looked around to see how she could make herself useful, eventually deciding to check her tricorder for the same transmission point their commander was referring to.

Re: Abyss Station - Ancient Artifact

Decker frowned and turned his tricorder on Lieutenant Saghalie again. After a moment, he shook his head, "I was hoping a mild stimulant would be enough, but I think I'd better risk a few drops of Cordrazine." He loaded up his hypospray and knelt carefully to give the injection. After safing the hypospray, he glanced up at ch'Pertha, "Please remember that I always let you win at cards during my court martial, Commander."

OOC: This is a very strong stimulant. Tsolo will not feel great, but it should get him up on his feet. It doesn't solve the dehydration or malnutrition issues, but he'll be able to work past them...at least until we can get him to the ship for a good meal and some rest, or until we all die here on the station. Side effects may include: elevated blood pressure, dry mouth, tachycardia, restlessness, insomnia, irritability, increased anxiety, paranoia, and death.

The patient makes a noise, half scream, half strangle. He gropes and finds his tormenter's feet and tries to get himself upright by grabbing onto the figure. He seems to be looking nowhere in particular.

Mcreeg find a spot to work, away from the others but not too far and gets to it, humming a tune from his childhood, one that would be familiar to most of his fellow crewmates, it's what helps him focus, helps him set up the problem in his head, guiding his thoughts to help him deal with whatever is going on, even as he wills the connection to work, silently urging those he seeks to respond..

Without much sympathy, in a grating tone, LCDR JavKer grumbled, "Grife, is he gonna stand up or not?  We got a clock running here.  Maybe give him some water.  Here."  And he offered Decker a small cylinder from the back of his suit - a canteen.

"Thanks, Gullak. Here, Lieutenant." He opens the canteen and placed it into his hands, making sure that Tsolo has a firm grasp on it before letting go. "Drink....but SLOWLY."

He paused, "I'd need to do a more detailed examination, but the tricorder didn't pick up anything significant with your eyes. There's no physical damage. In my opinion you probably just caught a very bright flash when we tried to cut you free. There's nothing we can do to speed his recovery here, but it should begin to clear up shortly." He shrugged, mostly to himself.
