Episode 1: Adrift

The scene opens as a slow pan of the bridge of the USS Independence, a Miranda-class starship, scrolls across the screen, with everyone at their duty station.  Dramatic voiceover by our fearless captain:

"Captain’s Log, stardate 5428.3 — The ship is on course to planet Dourap IV, near the Klingon border. Velkath, the Tellarite colony there, has had an outbreak of d’kar fever, a highly contagious viral infection. The disease is still in its early phases, and no fatalities have been reported. We have been tasked by Starbase 24 to transport an emergency medical team and their supplies to the colony, and provide any assistance they might need. We are traveling at warp factor six; our ETA is approximately eighteen hours."

OOC: Any areas of inquiry or actions?  You're up. ;)

From the Communications console, LT Nipay adjusted her ear receiver and reported, "USS Reliant leaving communications range, heading to Ceti Alpha system for research.  No other major comms traffic."

Episode 1: Adrift

"Captain," ch'Pertha spoke up, "may I draw your attention to the Tragon Sector, however.
I'm not sure yet, but there seems to be ... something ... moving there, on a parallel velocity to our own.  It's almost on the periphery of our sensor capabilities
", he said.
His fingers were dancing along his console, "I'm trying to get a fix on it, but its .... something seems to be interfering with the scan".

Sean likes to do this.   To jump right in; not only adding to the situation, but to get some practise dice rolling in.
Rolling Control + Security (13) to identify the possible threat:
-rolled 2d20 with rolls of 14,17.  Control + Security.

But he seemed frustrated.
"Can anyone else read whatever that is?"
