Re: Chult: Port Nyanzaru

Niailee steps off the ship and starts winding through the crowd, wondering whether it would be best to secure a place to stay first, or to wander around a bit and enjoy the respite.
After all, it is pretty safe here, it's not as though they can easily follow me over the surface, and I doubt they could track me from the shore and know to swim over here. As long as there are no underground passages far below the water...

After just a little looking about, Niailee heads towards the large tavern.

Re: Chult: Port Nyanzaru

After answering all of Kuruk's questins Samier goes back to the day to day operation of his tavern. As newcomers come and go he offers drinks, food and rooms, all for a price...only slightly out of balance with the main land, but you'll find that most things are more here. The singer continues her singing, the drinks continue to flow and the day tends towards early evening.

OOC: Let me know if anyone wants to come or go during the day, late this evening (game time) I'd like get everyone introduced and ready to party together. I know Elsa's plans, and Ynvaar's. Kuruk, Niailee, Rand do you have anything you'd like to do tonight yet, or you can stay at the tavern and get to know each other.

Re: Chult: Port Nyanzaru

Ynvaar:
"Do you know 'Lament for the fallen'?" Ynvaar shouts across the taproom to the singer as she comes to the end of her song, banging his empty tankand on the table in appreciation as he does so.

Elsa fixes her eyes on the speaker and then regards him with a sly, sidelong glance. With the air of someone trying to remember something once known but long forgotten, she tosses her hair and taps a finger on her chin. Then she calls across the room in a playful tone, "That depends, I suppose, on what exactly has fallen." With a grin, she deliberately focuses her gaze on a section of the warrior's body that is somewhere between his belly and his knees. She then adds with a wink, "Scores of maidens would certainly lament over such a loss..."

[Private to DM FoxPaws: We can start the burglary whenever you choose. In the meantime, Elsa will continue to tease and please her audience.]

Re: Chult: Port Nyanzaru

With a laugh at the implied loss to the new warrior in the crowd Samier looks to his new singer and grins his encouragement. Looking over his tavern he is happy to see smiling happy patrons enjoying their drink...in other words spending their silvers on his food and drink.

OOC to everyone: Feel free to talk amongst yourselves, Kuruk can fill some of you in on stuff, and if I see you put a question to him that he doesn't know but I think he should I'll feed him the answers. Elsa, give me a perform check and we'll see if you can't make a few coppers this evening.

[Private to Elsa: I'm ready when you are...when you leave will start the evening for you, not the others so we can do this tonight (tomorrow, i'm done for tonight) or whenever. I should be able to get in at least 2 posts tomorrow so when your ready rock on.]

[Private to Kuruk Jobtawk: Give me your email address and I'll get you that pdf. Let me know if you see me going out of line, its been a long time since i've DMed anything.]

Rand sits quietly in the corner of the tavern overlooking the entrance and the main area of seating. Nursing a mug of ale he watches locals enter and depart while the outlanders, who are easy to pick out, buy drinks and spin yarns about their exploits. Watching the singing woman taunt the yelling patron Rand smiles a small smirk and takes in all that is going on.

[Private to DM FoxPaws: I am just going to stay here and try and work my way into the group. If I am going to be the government spy I am going to try and work my way into the group slowly acting as outland adventurer.]

[Private to Rand Al Thor: Not really going to be able to play yourself off as anything but a local, skin tone and what not. but thats not a problem, Kuruk will know what you are by the tattoo on your forearm, if he sees it, but he will know why your there and be cool with it. The others failed all of their spot checks so they dont know that you and some others followed them here to the inn and that you are still watching them. Feel free to jump into the convo for adventurers to seek out the druids, or talk to the singer, shes a saucy little wench.]

---

Niailee gets close to the bar just in time to hear Ynvaar say "might be an idea to add a few swords to our number too in case things get interesting out in the trees".

Interesting. Well, while I'm here, there's surely no harm in hanging around for a bit, doing a bit of work. heaven knows I could do with the coin, and while surrounded by others I should be safe...

"Excuse me, I couldn't help but overhear, are you looking for mercenaries?"

"Oho! and here comes just such a maiden now!" ynvaar roars with amusement at the timely interruption, returning the singers wink and broad grin with one of his own as he does so.

"Nay lass, I did not say we were seeking mercenaries. We are adventurers."

Quickly rising to his feet, Ynvaar bows slightly before removing the helm from the the seat beside him and motions the newcomer to join them before he continues "I am Ynvaar and my hairy friend here is Kuruk. We travel to find two druids gone missing this past tenday somewhere hereabouts. There is no prize or purse that compells us, but of course, any treasures that come our way are ours to keep .....if you are brave enough to seek them."
And then with a gentle smile he adds "or poor enough."

Re: Chult: Port Nyanzaru

Rand makes out a small group of individuals at a table making introductions,or so it seems, as they bow and speak to one another. He is able to hear only a few words that are spoken ... Kuruk...find druids...missing....treasures... ours to keep ..... Peaking his interest his moves closer to listen a little more. Hanging around a table closer to the adventurers so he listen easier.

PM - Sorry guys, I know how much I don't like this, but its needed, honest.

[Private to Elsa: Leaving the tavern to a few grumbles at the end of the entertainment, whether that be the singing, or the flirting is unknown, you make your way towards the dock (Give me a spot check). Once there you can see behind the simple gates around the warehouse and dock that the last ship has sailed, though your pretty sure that there is no way they could have loaded all that lumber and crates in that one ship. A quick listen at the door reveals nothing by way to talking or anything else inside. Trying the door you are unsuprised to find it locked.]

Re: Chult: Port Nyanzaru

Perform Check = 27

Elsa sends another wicked smile towards the warrior and adds a look thats hard to read - perhaps considering or maybe promising? She then launches into a new song about a maiden, an ogre, and a halfling searching for love. And while the ditty had a few lame verses, her performance was anything but lamentable.

The night continues on and Elsa performs until the sun has set and darkness has enshrouded the inn. She rises to her feet and gives Samier a smile and nod on her way out of the Inn. On the way, she passes by the hulking warrior and gives him a pinch for good measure.

[Private to DM FoxPaws: Spot check = 2 YIKES!!!

Does Elsa know whether or not there is another door? She might try to walk around the building as much as possible to check out all possible entrances/exits.
]

[Private to Elsa: There is the bay door in the back that logs and crates were carried out of by the robed figures, then there is the front door. All of the slaves are gone now, and from what you can tell it is fairly quiet in this part of town. This wharf is not near the others (not far from them, but not like it is a part of all the others either). And Yikes is right, open yer eyes girl! Also, take 4gp in gold, silver and coppers from your new found fans. And finally feel free to interact with the others while we are doing this...we'll just consider everything outside the inn to be later in the night.]

Re: Chult: Port Nyanzaru

Elsa stops at the tavern's door as she hears the voice calling after her. Turning with a serious expression for once, she replies, "I don't foresee much rest tonight." She hesitates for a moment and then adds, "But if you and your friends remain here awhile, I shall join you upon my return." Without any further ado, she disappears into the night.

[Private to DM FoxPaws: Figuring that the backdoor of the warehouse might provide cover from any prying eyes, Elsa strides in that direction and examines the portal. Hide = 10, Move Silently = 11. Its NOT my night for rolls! I get a 2, 3, and 4 in a row. (sinking feeling begins...)]

[Private to Elsa: For ease of use, I'm going to post into your posts for this, sorry.

* Striding to the towards the back of the warehouse it is not hard to elude prying eyes, most of the street is empty at this hour. A short bit of exercise has you over the rough fenced area and into the wharf area proper. Walking to the closed bay doors you are only a little started to hear the growling bark of what sounds to be a fairly large dog as your feet touch down. It sounds to come from the direction of the dock, but with the way sound is warped by the open waters its hard to say exactly where (you can do a listen check 15 to pin point a bit better, judging from what you remember you should have a round, maybe two, before the dog is to you.)

Re: Chult: Port Nyanzaru

Wandering the tavern floor the barmaid takes care to stay out of the armor clad warriors way as she walks the floor, shooting him angry glances for his earlier dousing of her. As she makes her rounds she ensures that all drinks are full, and sleeping drunks are thrown out or woken to pay for a spot on the floor. In the back corner of the tavern a small group of peoples are cheering and weeping over the results of an odd card game of some sort.

[Private to Rand Al Thor: Do you keep your tattoo covered, or leave it open for anyone to see? All locals know of the society, and most townsfolk who aren't total newbies to the land.]

Re: Chult: Port Nyanzaru

Rand returns the smile as he tries to come up with some witty reparte Well, it takes a better man than I to admit he is desperate. Fully turning to face the group Rand draws a chair out, but does not sit. I am Rand, Rand Al'Thor, and yes, on occaision I do drink alone. But, this time I will accept your offer and drink in your company. Motioning for the barmaid Miss, see that my friends have another drink on me.
Nodding to the barmaid he turns his attentions back to the group at hand. I thank you for the invitation. Extending his right hand to the group members individually he greets each with Pleasure to meet you. After Rand extends his hand to Kuruk he wuickly, by cooly, tugs on his right shirt sleeve as if trying to cover something a little better. Winking at Kuruk Rand takes his seat.

[Private to Kuruk Jobtawk: As Rand extends his right hand you notice a portion of a familiar tattoo peek out from under his shirt sleeve. You recognize the sign of the Triceratops Society.]

[Private to DM FoxPaws: I let the tattoo slip to Kuruk but no one else.]

OOC: Sorry for lack of posting, real life has been full of challenges the last few days.
[Private to DM FoxPaws: Thanks, that'd be great. rocpile@gmail.com]

Kuruk relays what he knows of the missing druids from Samier to Ynvaar.

The druids led a group of outlanders who were hired to bring medicine into the jungle to a group of healers. A message arrived in town saying they have not yet received the supplies. Samier still needs someone to bring the supplies to the healers, and he's willing to hire a group led by Kuruk. Kuruk knows how to get there.

During various introductions, Kuruk nods his name in acknowledgement whenever his name is mentioned. When Rand introduces himself, Kuruk believes he sees something familiar about the man, but the thought is fleeting and dissipates quickly. Though once he makes his overt motions, Kuruk's wisdom kicks in, and he remembers an important detail. "Hmmmm, I wonder what they are doing here." Out loud, he says, "Is good to meet all you. If you all support mission, I would like to go at first light. A very generous offer you offer Samier, but I do this not for the money, though I will accept if you insist."

OOC Most shops are closed this evening, but they all open fairly early in this part of the world to do business before the oppresive heat of the day drives the outlanders into cooler places. This area is fairly out of the way, all items are 10% more if you need to pick anything up, sorry import costs.
