Not waiting for the croc to recover and slip away for another surprise attack Rand lashes out with his rapier. Trying to take advantage of Kuruk's hit Rand strikes towards the face of the croc, knowing that the hide is tough on it's back.

Re: Chult: To find a jungle friend

Thrown back and driven to one knee by the monsters attack, Ynvarr looks back on the fell beast -the likes of which he has never seen- and lets out a most unpriestly oath.
Quickly rising and grasping the handle of his axe firmly in both hands he swings the axe in a mighty overhead strike "TEMPOS!!!!!" he cries as he brings the axe blade down squarely on the monsters head with a sickening crunch.

Ynvaar rolled 19 using 1d20+6. Attack roll.
Ynvaar rolled 9 using 1d8+3. Damage roll.

Re: Chult: To find a jungle friend

Lunging out of the river towards Kuruk the Croc makes a suprise move and sends his tail flying towards Rand, connecting solidly with him to send the chultan warrior flying back at the same time that Rand lands a bloody hit on the creature himself.  Rand ends up several feet away, the sickening crack of ribs audible to everyone as the beasts tail connects with him..  Kuruk mean while harrasses the beast from the front, his spear driving deeply into the creatures front, leaving a deep bloody wound that won't heal soon.  Ynvaar, back on his feet, winded but far from out of it, takes a large chop out of the beast, the axe head bitting deeply and leaving a rear leg bloody and mangled.   Niailee with a strange word and stranger gestures sends twin bolts of energy to blast into the beast, scorching its hide.

To everyone, Don't worry about the order you post in, my roll-up post at the end of the round is what is really happening.  If you post all out of order it doesn't matter to me, this helps you get your posting in without having to wait to long, if it comes down to us waiting for one or two people to post a day or so late then I'll roll for them to keep the game moving.  In other words, KILL IT RAND, KILL IT!!!!!!

Re: Chult: To find a jungle friend

Rand's breathing begins to become labored, with his ribs causing him severe pain.  He holds his distance and stays back to fire off a spell at the croc hoping that he can help kill it, but from a safe distance. But, the pain in his ribs and the lack of oxygen make his shot seem to go wide.

Sorry Rand, I did a random roll for who got hit and it turned up to be you.  Go for the spells or the ranged weapons.

Re: Chult: To find a jungle friend

With a roar and a hymn Ynvaar's axe bites deeply into the enraged croc once again, almost severing a leg in its ferocity.  Meanwhile the druid dances withing striking distance of the large beasts jaws only to come away with a spear bloodied once again and not a scratch on him, the beasts jaws closing to soon to hurt anyone or anything.  Niailee finishes casting a spell and is surrounded by a soft glow, well away from the combat.  slowly getting to his feet, Rand tries to send a bolt of energy towards the beast, but his pain causes the spell to go off into the distance, harming no one.

Next Round....guys, have fun!

Kuruk's soft prod to drive the giant croc back into the water proves to be a bit to much, the beast shudders as it lets out a groan and collapses onto the river side.    The beast is now dead.

Re: Chult: To find a jungle friend

"YAAARGH!!!" bellows Ynvaar as he brings the axe crashing down on the dying monster one last time. The axe makes a sucking sound as he pulls it free of the beasts flesh and he raises the weapon high over his head in the morning sun and lets out a victory cry "HAIL TEMPOS!"

Grinning broadly and turning to face his companions, Ynvaars' gaze falls on the stricken Rand as he clutches his broken ribs. Coming to one knee at his injured companions side Ynvaar clutches the holy symbol over his breastplate and lays the other blood soaked hand gently over Rands chest and softly begins to pray ...
"Mighty Tempos, hear now the words of your faithful servant and grant unto this warrior who has battled so gallantly in your honour the strength to fight on..."
Though his eyes be closed, Ynvaar can feel the warmth of magic as it pours into Rand to heal his wounds. Opening his eyes he smiles at the man who has earned his respect and says with an impish smile and a chuckle
"I'll warrant my armour semms less foolish to ye now though eh?"

Ynvaar rolled 14 using 2d8+3. Spontaneous healing (2nd lvl on Rand).
Ynvaar rolled 7 using 1d8+3. Spontaneous healing (1st lvl on self).

Re: Chult: To find a jungle friend

Begining to think of what spell to try next Rand sees the cros slump to the ground and the tell tale gutteral death rattle of the croc tells Rand that the beast is dead.  Dropping to one knee now that the fight is over Rand is overcome with fatigue from his injuries.
Ynvaar comes to Rand nad lays his hand on him as he prays and Rand can only help but think to himself What a time to pray!  A healer is what I need now.  But, to Rand's amazement his wounds heal to the point that he is nearly good as new.  Truly a wonder to behold!  I am indebted to you!  Where did you get such powers?

OOC:  Thanks, that bugger took me down to 5 with one hit.  Hey FoxPaws, thanks for giving us an easy one to cut our teeth on ;)

Hey, you all survived! - FP

"The power is not mine friend, but Tempos' alone" the big man returns with surprising humility before adding with a smile "Yet he offers it freely to those who do him honor on the field of battle"

Taking a long pull from his watersin, Ynvaar studies the strange beast before him thoughtfully before offering it round.

Blood of the dead beast begins to turn the waters near you a dull red, the sickly metallic scent of blood heavy in the air.  The beast lays before you, ready to be gutted or abandoned as you see fit.  The sun over head hot as ever, soon it will drop back behind the canopy from its high position above your heads.

"Aye, 'tis true alas" Ynvarr responds sadly, turning a few entrails over with his foot dejectedly as he does so.
"There's nought in here save 'is breakfast"

OOC: Since it's highsun I will need to pray for my spells for before continuing on.

Carefully moving back from the waters edge but heedless of the flies gathering on the crocodiles corpse scant feet away, Ynvaar kneels down, his axe gripped  tightly in both hands as he begins to pray once more.
Shortly thereafter the big warrior opens his eyes again and stands, the axe now casually resting on one shoulder as he looks up brightly to the others
"So friends, shall we be off?" Without waiting for a reply he starts moving down the trail behind Kuruk "farewell wurmling!" he adds with a cheery wave back at the crocodile.

The smell of blood very heavy in the air by the time the priest finishes his prayers the sounds of something large coming from the jungle to the east of you can be heard quiet clearly.  The path down the river remains open, or there are a few places where you can cut into the jungle down a path of sorts that appears to head easterly into the deep canopy.
