Re: postal postage posting

The delay is my fault. I'm trying to deal with a player in one of my games who has issues with me as a DM [but who is otherwise a very good writer and RPer], and it's spilling over into my daily mental thought process, which in turn befouls my mood when I get home and try to post to my games.
I am positive it will be fixed one way or another by friday night. :)

Re: postal postage posting

So...I came home for lunch on friday and made a few posts/private messages to people, and told a new guy in one of my games I'd bring him in friday nite....got home and ONCE AGAIN had no internet connection. Of course no tech support on weekends. >:(
Back up and running monday but, well, an encounter [raid] between drug dealers and the cops at work kinda made me decide to get a good dinner in me before I get shot, ya know? :P Then a flat tire and a dentist appointment yesterday. Arrgh.
So here I am setting my alarm for 5 a.m. so I can catch up in my games again.

Epic suspense indeed. I pity Eirik as I doubt he lives after that :P. But if he kills the wizard hurray for him! But if not, necromancer gets new undead companion.....

Anycase thanks from playing with us Vicril :).

Re: postal postage posting

Stay safe.

Well, Eirik's not dead. :D Yes, that did take a long time to write, a few hours, including the fire alarm and trying to do work. Pfft. Work. :p

PS: And that was a fantastic and terrifying tale, Lobo.

Re: postal postage posting

Very nice post Eirik :). Really dramatic. As question tough; would not blade hitting scarred oen get bonus to dmg as it is treated also a 'falling object'?
[Private to DM Lobo: Give bonus XP to Eirik from his good post :). I would vote +500 XP reward.]

Re: postal postage posting

Yes Eirik, yours WAS a fantastic tale...I'd be jealous of your writing abilities if I hadn't already worked out the details of your survival with you  beforehand. :P
Incidentally - to everyone else - Eirik got exactly what he needed on a reflex save [though I hadn't told him to make one] to arrest his fall. It means A) he survives in his precarious position at zero HP [but not unconscious, only disabled] and B) he didn't have to burn his 'free 20' that he got for a Christmas gift once before.
I'll have to work harder to kill him. >:)

The story about Shaene was mostly for closure on the matter, though I like having my player characters feel that good sometimes triumphs over evil, even when it doesn't. :)

As for the blade doing extra damage...I'm not sure if it would or not. Would the extra damage be considered impact damage, separate from the magical damage [like sneak attack or critical damage is]? If so, then his DR in smoke-form would nullify most or all of it. If it is simply added to the base damage of the already magical weapon damage, then it might indeed apply, though I'm inclined to let things stand as they are for purposes of a dramatic [some might say MELOdramatic] post by our barbarian. Lol

Re: postal postage posting

Huh. I forgot that 20 again. I've had it since 2006.

Yeah, I do tend to overwrite, and over-describe. I should adopt purple as my text colour. ;)

Kill Eirik? He's a Barbarian! He's unkillable. :) I'll have to take Diehard some time.

Hey now! Do you mean as in argue, or as in French kiss each other? This is a PG-13 ooc board, you know! :P

Cecania: I'm afraid western New York state isn't the place to go for a new job...but when you do get one, we are so economically depressed that your money feels like 25% more than it is. :)

Re: postal postage posting

You folks should not feel like you are waiting on me for a post; the scene is now one of 'the aftermath' and your own dialogue and 'collection of the wounded' efforts should be taking place. I'll step in when necessary...which isn't yet.
Eirik - don't double post. Let Cecania get to the end of her rope 100' above you or let Bergdis float down to you. :) Relgar's mount will disappear in two rounds. :)

Worked every day last week and today is my only day off this week. Power out yesterday from the storm. Haven't had a beer in two weeks! :P

Re: postal postage posting

Ah! Finally the light goes on in the tower! Yes, he was a lv 1 druid, lv 8 necromancer. A fallen druid, if you will, and one whose research apparently led him to this artifact, knowing that it could not be used against him by any of the other red wizards, should they recover it. :)

Posting this from the library in a short 30 minute window, so nothing to the game thread today as I update all my other games and emails. I'll hopefully have the new drive installed tonight and then install Windows from a friend's disks and copy over what programs my old [dead] drive will let me recover from slave.
